We drove from the west side of Ireland toward the end of our 3 weeks trip in Ireland, and it was very nice relax ending to our trip. Restaurant: We dined at both restaurants: Fairways restaurant (upstairs, more formal) and Brasserie Bar (downstairs, casual). Fairways dinner was delicious. Every choice is good, and wish we were able to try out each of the dishes. I'd say most of the guests were dressed up and more formal, but some are dressed in leggings and tees. Also the view of the 18th green from the window seat was really beautiful especially in the morning. Brasserie serves more casual meals like burgers and appetizers, after golf and snacks. We enjoyed both restaurants. Golf course: Very well maintained, parkland style 18 hole golf course. Beautiful views of hills and lakes, and it is very rash and green. Fairways are mildly generous with some challenges around the greens. We enjoyed chatting with some local players in between holes. Be prepared to lose some balls! Once I miss the fairway, my ball was gone. I know where the ball had gone, but just couldn't find them. The lady at the pro shop was very friendly and helpful. The only downside was they were having some issue with water while we were staying there. The hotel provided bottled waters and you can ask for more bottles, but when showering and washing face using faucet, flushing toilets, the water comes out brown and it was not too pleasant. Hopefully they'll fix whatever the water issue they're experiencing soon.

We called for service and waited an hour. When I called again for an update we were told it would be quite a while. I then called the hotel to see if there's anyway that they could possibly come and pick up my partner. I spoke to a lovely woman at the hotel and she told me she would call me right back. Just a few short minutes later she called to say that Mick was on his way. I intended to wait with the car and wanted to get my partner to safety and comfort. Mick refused to leave me and gathered both us and our luggage and took us to the hotel promising a return ride to the car when the service man arrived. When we arrived at the hotel everyone was warm and caring. They checked us in to an absolutely beautiful room with a stunning view. When we arrived at a room Nick was waiting there with ice cold beverages to quench our thirst. When the car repair man was there Mitch Trudo is where I drove me back. When I finally ride back to the hotel we freshened up and went for dinner. The food was absolutely delicious the service was wonderful. As this was our first day, The punctured tire and sitting by the side of the road for a while could've affected our vacation. Mitch and this hotel staff were absolutely instrumental in turning that around. Their warmth and hospitality went above and beyond. We waited a while then before our desserts and coffee and with a bill just under €60, we enjoyed it thoroughly and will be back again.

My main, however, was a pretty good burger with all the trimmings with a good, if not overly generous, side of chips. My companions had, variously, ribs and salads for starter and hake, and another burger for main. All satisfactory. Not memorable. Not worth going out of your way for but, as a comfortable venue for a catch up and a natter, can't be bested. Absolutely astounding for a 5 star hotel !!! SHOCKING WOULD BE A BETTER WORD! Travelled 11 hours from California for a close family friend's daughter's wedding. The welcome at reception was inviting, the room was as advertised although sparse of the simple items you would expect in a 5 star hotel bathroom ( body lotion, simple vanity kits, cotton balls etc., ) Service in the bar/lounge the evening before the wedding was good and had a great atmosphere for pre-wedding drinks and fun! The breakfast the next morning was excellent ! We left our room at exactly 2.30pm the next day ( day of the wedding) to go downstairs to one of their function rooms for the service. Everything was set up beautifully and the wedding coordinator was incredible .... Everything went off without a hitch! Unbeknownst to us, however, someone must have been watching us leave our room because whilst we were in the closed off function room, someone was raiding our bedroom and stealing specific designer items that I had worn the night before in the hotel's bar/lounge! In addition to my designer handbag and scarf, all of my makeup, perfume, my designer prescription sunglasses, my husband's prescription sunglasses and reading glasses, and our personal personal hygiene items were gone ! All open suitcases were rummaged through and left disheveled!! Thankfully we had our passports, money, jewelry case and one lap top in the very small room safe. The total itemized list of stolen goods was just over US$5,000.00 The door to our room had been opened in some way other than our individual keys and the deadbolt lock had been put in place! Upon reporting this incident to the General Manager, and in his actual presence, the door still remained unlocked even though it was closed ... the explanation given was the mechanism needed new batteries !!! So, essentially, the entire hotel staff, patrons and guests could have just walked up to our room, tried the handle and walked in!!! The Gardai are now involved, this is being investigated as a criminal offense and we are were given " a gesture of goodwill " - quote-unquote, compensation for our two night stay but other than that it has been up to us to contact a representative from The Neville Hotel Group to find out what is going on. As a side note, when I advised the General Manager that we would be employing the services of a Solicitor and that I would be writing this review for all social media platforms, his reply was " are you threatening me " !!! I replied that it was not a threat, rather a statement of fact! At the end of the day, things are replaceable in this life .... What is NOT replaceable is that we missed out on 70% of this planned, much anticipated celebration of a young woman we have known since she was born ! Most of our wedding evening was spent with hotel management and the Gardai giving a report on what happened! All this time, we tried our very best NOT to let our friends or the wedding couple know what was happening ! It was extremely upsetting for us both and very traumatizing until we checked out the following day .... To add insult to injury, we were told we could not charge 2 cups of coffee and a cup of tea to our bill, " as it had been closed off " !! Whilst this is an ongoing investigation, my personal opinion is that the hotel most definitely are liable for this situation being allowed to happen in the first place. This is a well known " golf hotel and spa " and to think they are failing their customers with lack of even basic security for a 5 star status hotel is incomprehensible! We were in no way at fault for this traumatic experience but certainly did not get that definitive feeling from the General Manager the morning after! In closing, I would ABSOLUTELY not recommend this hotel as an overnight stay, considering the present lack of basic security for its guests! It remains to be seen how we will be compensated for their failings but as I said prior, we will NEVER get the memories, or lack there of, from a wedding that was to be the highlight of our trip back home to Ireland.

The internet, because of their location, works only downstairs in the main room. There was a black wood burning stove roaring and a nice view out the windows where we would eat breakfast. Liam talked to us a bit I. The evening. Breakfast was Irish with the sausage and black and white pudding. I don't care for it. The woman that served did not understand much English but she was kind and cordial. There was yogurt, cheese, ham, cereal and juices. Overall, I'd stay there again.

My wife and I were attending a wedding at this hotel. When we booked the wedding, we tried using…read morethe wedding party's group rate. The hotel made us book the first night outside of the group rate as a separate reservation with the subsequent 3 nights on the group rate and a different reservation number. Prices went from 520 to 375 and then up to 420 per night. Fortunately they didn't ask that we check out, leave and then check back in again. When were arrived at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, they told us check in time is 4:00 p.m. and our room wasn't ready yet. We saw many other people arrive after us, check in and go to their rooms. The bellhop had our luggage and was asking us constantly when we would be going to our room. We were initially told that we would have a room with a balcony. At 4:00 p.m, our room still wasn't ready. The desk clerk then said she has our room on floor 2 ready. I asked if floor 2 had the balcony we were promised. She said no and then brought the manager over. They were able to find me a room on floor 6 with a balcony and apologized for the delay. The room was very nice with a large walk-in shower and an oversized room with balcony. The fitness center is located on the lower floor and had plenty machines, treadmills and ellipticals. The Irish breakfast in the morning was great. Very nice buffet, but you can also order off a menu for additional cost. The buffet had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fried egg, pouched eggs with sauce, pancakes, smoked salmon, cheeses, fruits, cereals, juices, lunch meats, and pastries. The hotel had my Marriott Rewards number on file. I'm a lifetime Titanium member. I'm working with the hotel currently to find out why I never received my Marriott reward point, bonus points and credit for the hotel nights.
