Staff was horrible I was screamed at cussed out and shoved down a flight of stairs. I've had one surgery because of this I still have a other to go. The employee is still there. I watched people drop off donations and the people in the office kept it all. They give nothing to the women staying there. I came from a home were I had a decent income so I had no state assistance. I was unfamiliar in Huntington and was basically out of funds. Well, my roommate gave me an opportunity to earn some money helping move her sisters things somewhat far from the shelter. I ended up getting stranded and attempted to let the staff know I wasn't going to make it back, hoping that communicating this they wouldnt think I just carelessly didn't make it to curfew. Unfortunately when I was able to return they immediately told me they were doing an "exit" telling me I had to clear out. This sent me straight back to my abuser as I didn't have anywhere else to go. Seems a little off the mission to be so unforgivable. I would've glady taken a punishment like taking on extra chores or even not being allowed to leave for a day or two. They were pretty harsh in my opinion. And I'm right back in the situation I was trying to flee from. Thanks Branches! Maybe rethink your policy
