Definitely one of my favorite farmer's markets in San Diego! There are so many incredible vendors!…read moreFrom food to produce to jewelry to clothes. There are so many vendors to see as well as live music. Vendors are super knowledgeable and friendly about their businesses. It is such a great variety of things and a huge market. If you are wanting to get breakfast or lunch there are SO many good options. So much incredible fresh produce with tons of different fruits and vegetables! Absolutely adore this farmer's market and always enjoy coming.

Farmers' markets bring me absolute joy and this is one of the very best we've been to! It's huge…read moreand spacious, organized and there were so many vendors around! From delicious food, to fresh produce, to the most gorgeous and vibrant flowers, to beautiful pottery, to unique clothes... you name it, they have it there! Make sure to come early as parking can be a bit tricky, especially if you want to park closer to the farmers' market. Once you get parked though, everything is a breeze. They even have tables and chairs around for people to eat at. There's also a playground for families who have little ones! I could never go to a farmers' market and leave without fresh flowers, so of course I had to pick up some from Hidalgo Flowers. They always have the most colorful and stunning arrangements, and for a decent price too. This time, I got a bunch with the prettiest sunflowers. We also picked up the sweetest and reddest strawberries from this one vendor. I highly regret not getting their name, but I will definitely be on the hunt for them the minute we go back. We got a cup of strawberries with some dark chocolate sauce from Strawberries and Chocolate. That was sooo good! We devoured it so quickly, we didn't even get to take a picture of it. One of the standouts for me was the Pork Sisig Rice from Baryo Eats. It was AHHHHMAZING!! It's the best kind of pork sisig that I love to eat--the taste was so good and nostalgic, it took me back to my college days back in the Philippines! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We also got some Paella from Driana Catering/Taste of Spain. It was so flavorful and the rice was cooked to perfection. We were just sad they ran out of shrimp by the time we got some, so we were left with chicken only. We got some goodies from It's Cafe Thai as well--Milk Tea with Boba, Taro Thai Coffee, and the Mango Sticky Rice. All of them had just the right amount of sweetness and hit the spot for us. Lastly, we had some of the watermelon and the cucumber lemonade refreshers, and the chicken and pork tamales from Gourmet Tamales. They were so good, we even took some home for later! Overall, I'm already looking forward to the next Sunday we can stop by this farmers' market!

Cafe Matinal is such a fun little coffee truck near Crown Point!…read more I had tried to come here once before but the line was crazy, so I gave up. This time I came early on a Sunday and it was SO worth it. I got the Turkish rose & pistachio latte, and it was exactly how I like my coffee - not overly sweet, with really subtle pistachio and rose flavors. They even add dried rose petals on top. The coffee itself is strong, which I actually loved because you can still taste the coffee through all the flavors. Definitely my cup of tea... I mean coffee hehe. We also got a bagel with cream cheese, which was simple, good, and filling, and a warmed-up pistachio croissant that was SO good. Perfect little stop to grab something before walking around Crown Point Park, which is super close. They have a table and a couple benches on the side if you want to sit too. Definitely coming back!

This little mobile cafe is such a hidden gem! Cafe Matinal is located in a gas station parking lot…read more There is a little bit of parking to use. This is an outdoor coffee stand, so it was quite warm outside since it is mid-July. The owner greeted me warmly when I arrived and was very friendly and knowledgeable. He guided me through the menu and made many coffee recommendations. I was in between the iced Biscoff latte and the iced Pistachio Rose latte, and I ended up getting the latter. We talked a bit as he was making my coffee since I was the only one there, and I found out that he's had this coffee stand since 2024, first in North Park and now in PB. He mentioned that his stand became viral through a Tik Tok video last year and that he is very grateful for it since he thought his business would only last 25 days. When he gave me my coffee, he offered to trade it out if I didn't like it. Thankfully he didn't have to because the iced pistachio rose latte with oat milk was so good! It was not too sweet and you could taste the coffee, which was amazing. The owner's great customer service, his delicious coffee, and his attentiveness will have me coming back soon!

Another wonderful Persian restaurant discovered! My husband and I were looking for a place to eat…read morebefore going to the AMC next door and I'm so happy we found this restaurant. At first glance, we knew we were in for a true authentic and great meal when we saw other Persians dining at the restaurant ;D Vibes: Namino shares a parking lot with other food establishments but on a Tuesday afternoon, we didn't have trouble finding a spot. The restaurant gives a mom and pop vibe, where they warmly welcomed us in. I loved that the lady gave us a bell to ring when we're ready to order. There were more than a handful of 4 person tables available inside. No outdoor seats. The guy who took our order and served our food was welcoming and our food came out within 10 minutes. Food: -Beef Koobideh Kabob ($15.95): skewer of suuuper flavorful beef served on a bed of saffron rice with a side salad and half a roasted tomato. I saw one of the reviews here that said to put sumac powder on the rice-- thank you for that! I asked for tzatziki sauce on the side and it paired well with the kabob. -Beef Kabob Sandwich ($11.95): my husband ordered this and he loved it as well. If we weren't in a hurry to catch a movie, I would've loved to try the baklava. Overall: A great authentic Persian restaurant located in La Jolla. You won't be disappointed!

TLDR; A small, no nonsense cafe serving absolutely mouth watering Persian dishes. Quaint ambience…read moreand old school city service (you just gotta flag people down) but the food is highly recommended. Namino, located in the holiday court lot (next to the Whole Foods plaza) is a small space looking like an east coast diner. They have a small menu and don't mind if you help yourself to drinks and a seat. The owner literally just told me to shout out my order when I was ready. No nonsense, quick, and it worked well. No complaints there. Service 9/10 Fesenjoon: That day's special. This dish is phenomenal and a hefty portion. The stew itself was not shy at all about flavor; an appreciable sweetness and tart flavor coming from pomegranate, an earthy blend of spices (for sure can taste bag and cinnamon as well as toasted walnuts. I'm sure there's more) and the chicken is clearly well seasoned. The stew itself is not to thin or thick, resembling a texture slightly thicker than a Japanese style curry. The specials are served with a side salad and saffron rice. The salad is dressed with a yogurt based dressing. Light and refreshing. Nothing surprising. The saffron rice is lightly seasoned with saffron, mostly white rice. The big kicker here is tableside condiments include sumac, and that is a huge bonus. Pour a liberal amount in your rice and thank me later. Gotta love a Persian restaurant with sumac! Food 9/10. The tea served is a spiced black I believe. May be an acquired tasted for those used to English breakfast. I'll definitely be back. Namino is great for a quick lunch and the food is fantastic. Hopefully I'll be able to try more of the menu soon!
