I went in to get my teeth checked out. The staff was kind and helpful, though the office itself was dingy and not exactly clean. I was hoping that the location, close to 91 freeway and North Long Beach/ Compton would help me find a dentist that was affordable. Wrong place. They charge as much as a Huntington Beach office. I was given a quote of 5000 to clean and fix two teeth with cavities. Though I did research and found the price to be around average, I was mostly upset with how the staff continued to place heavy pressure on my signing up for the whole 5000 even though I repeatedly said this was too much for me. They signed me up for a credit card, and that might help some. I felt it was still too much, however, and found treatment elsewhere. When I cancelled, I was pressured again into continuing with a payment plan, a pay per treatment plan (one step at a time) and even an offer for a discount. This was appreciated though I still said no. When the Dr. finally accepted my simple answer, she informed me of two additional charges that would be added to my account, the x-rays and exam that were never mentioned before I decided to cancel. After being done, my teeth got a nice deep cleaning, and this pleases me, but I paid $800 cash for it, and am very disappointed that I chose to visit this office. On Saturday January 19th 2019 I was in severe pain which I later found out was because I needed an emergency root canal. I called around to see if a dentist could see me on an emergency basis and Marlene at Cherry Dental agreed to bring me in even though they don't accept walk-ins. Marlene and dental staff helped me so much I recommend them to anybody. Not only where they professional they were very caring and their treatment for me was excellent. read more

I dislike leaving bad reviews as I know my terrible experience isn't reflective of the entire business... but my terrible experience was EXCEPTIONALLY awful. Customer service from the doctor is terrible at best, but her employees (receptionist, phone operators, and dental assistants) are exceptionally great. Let me tell you my story: I was approaching 26 years old and it was time to enroll in a dental plan on my own. I selected an insurance company, found a doctor that was near my home, and open late and weekends (good things). In June 2017, I went in for a same-day appointment because I was having a toothache. The doctor took x-rays and offered services I needed and made another appointment with a specialist at their Torrance office (again, good things). However, this is where things took a turn for the worst. Their secretary asked me for my Social (which I did not fill out on the application because what does my Social have to do with dental work?) and after I filled out that section of the application, she proceeded to open a CareCredit account for me at this location (with insurance in case I defaulted on payments - a headache!) after they reviewed only a PORTION of the ledger to me. I signed thinking I had only paid for the services that were done that day. A month later, much to my surprise, I see a $5,000.00 balance on my statement. I freaked out! I called to get a receipt of what was charged as I did not think that a deep cleaning and x-rays were that expensive. It took TWO WEEKS and four phone calls to get a full receipt of what was charged. Somehow, all the services she offered me and had provided me with that day conveniently totaled $5,000.00. I think she divided the services by whatever I was approved for that day and broke it up that way. I decided I would no longer be a patient of theirs, asked for a refund, and took my business elsewhere. In October 2017, I had a day off work and decided to pop into their office to inquire about my refund. The doctor said she would review my file and provide me with a refund in 2 days. "Cool," I thought. Two days later, I saw a refund for $2,400.00-ish AND an additional charge for $2,600.00. This put me over my cap and my credit score took a hit. I pestered and pestered and no change there. I filed a complaint with the Dental Board of CA and was prepared to sue. It's now 2018. Since I hadn't heard back from the Dental Board, I decided to give them another call and let them know that I was ready to sue if I did not get my refund. The person on the phone said she would leave a Post-It on my file so the doctor could address it. I didn't hear back the following day, so I called. I was told by a different employee that it'd be best if I showed up in person and scheduled me for an "appointment". I went in and FINALLY received my refund of $4,300.00 (mind you, it is now March 2018). I ended up paying $2,387.00 (for principal, interest, and that pesky insurance I mentioned earlier) for a ~$700.00 deep cleaning (I should also mention that my insurance covered a portion of the work that was done, but I was charged the full amount on the CareCredit account)... Had I known how much it really was, I would have just paid cash. PROS: Nice receptionists, dental assistants, and phone operators. "Open late" (in quotations because of the con) CONS: Doctor is hard to find (leaves at ~5PM and lets her assistants do the work for her); business practices are not patient- or pocket-friendly Essentially, please take your business elsewhere to save yourself the headache and lost money as this doctor's shoddy business practices are probably illegal. I was only seen by her as a patient one time (the initial visit in June 2017) and I went to see her as a customer who wanted my money back about 3 times. Additionally, I was informed that this location is not approved for opening a CareCredit account; only their Torrance office is - buyer beware! read more

I choose to switch my dentist, since this place was closer than my previous dentist, big mistake, I called the office number listed to set up an Appointment, I was forwarded to one of there office locations in Torrance, the receptionist Eva, answered the phone, I asked her if I could set up an appointment, she wanted my insurance information right over the phone, which I didn't not mind giving her, she set up the appointment, when it was the actual date of my appointment, i received an email stating my appointment had been moved without any prior notification, I called the number for this office and Eva, again at the other location from Torrance, stated that the dentist had something else to do that day, and she would be in at a later time for the office visit. Why wasn't I previously called or notified of them moving my appointment? Eva stated she could switch my appointment to the following Tuesday, since apparently they only open Tuesday and Thursdays at this office.I declined, so then she stated that she need to verify my eligibility, and needed the phone from my insurance card. That was the last straw, know I have to do her job so she can verify eligibility, something she could have done over the internet, then she stated I was not assigned at there practice, (Torrance), um mm no.. I was assigned to there office in Long Beach. and then she started saying she didn't have my insurance information, which I had done, when requesting an appointment. After this situation, I decided to call my insurance and have them switch me to another dentist. Saves me a headache. read more

its totally insane what I've put up with no thanx to Cardioligist forced run around for the past 4 months. And this dental staff have been the most kind, and the most empathetic (the entire staff) to my brutal situation even professionally considerate to those giving me & them the biggest run around known to mankind. Regaurding Autorzation forms. I am so impressed Its completely unbelivable. Ive been suffering bruised gums broken teeth along with puss pockets. I've a heart condition where half my heart works at 20% the other half not at all. Unable to consume any food for weeks My diabities Dr. has accused me of lieing to her, My cardioligist claimed the dentist need autorzation letter from her only to maintain a MIA status for the past 4 months and will remain on MIA status for the fallowing 6 months. These staff members have been on the resolution to my situation on a daily basis. Calling me & emailing me just to update me on thier progress. Even I needed a few days break every week.
