I will piggy back off the other review from Ora, the owner Tom of Cherry Creek Landscaping should not have a license let alone be allowed to deal with people in any way shape or or form.
Quick back story- my mother in law has been using him for quite some time (not sure why with his exorbitant prices). He tries to justify his price saying its only over 9 months not 10 months like many other companies. One Issue (there are plenty of others)is that he charges $200 a month ($1800 for the season) while 99% of estimates I have received from REPUTABLE LANDSCAPERS are all around $100-120 a month over 10 months ($1000-$1200 for the season).
Next issue - this guy's work is terrible. A few times where he had either killed or destroyed plants when moving them, then charges an arm or leg to fix something he was responsible for messing up.
A year or so ago my mother in law asked him to make a play area for my daughter in the backyard using either that soft material you see at school playgrounds or artifical turf, he comes and puts tons of tiny rocks instead. Who in their right mind would make that for a toddler play area?! He then charged her another arm and leg fee to correct it to turf, while telling us were responsible for removing all of the rocks that we didn't even want! Oh it gets better.
He cuts our lawn on Tuesdays, and leaves all of the clippings at the curb, recycling comes on Thursdays. We received a violation from the ToB, saying that bags cannot be placed on curb until 5pm the night before (so not until Wednesdays 5pm). When I confronted him about this, that's where things got heated.
I did not include a screeanshot of every text but to paraphrase, I asked why he could not remove bags of grass when he's finished every week, like many other landscapers do, ESPECIALLY when he charges around $100 more a month than most other reputable licensed landscapers. In short, His answer was that he "went to court about it and won, that my tax paying dollars goes to the recycling companies that pick it up and he is not responsible".
Fair enough , I told him that my mother in law(who I live with but is technically the account holder and I spoke on her behalf) will no longer want to use his services after this year. I would have liked to fire him immediately but didn't want any backlash if she was in contract. I told him there are many other unhappy locals who were unhappy with his work(see 2nd and 3rd screen shot of just a few of many bad reviews) . He then proceeded to say(see first screenshot), that the Facebook review was only one bad review out of 150 customers, and that the lady who made the review, who I believe is actually Ora (the poster of the other review on here) is a "nut job, just like me"
I told him how unprofessional that is to say about customers, and he says "awe hurt feelings? ". Then he also said, "your mother in law doesn't think to much of you anyways ". WHO THE F**K says that?! Now he's trying to attack me personally?
Then he texted my mother in law saying he was "concerned for his workers to come back on the property " as if there was some type of threat made which clearly there was not.
In summary, IN MY OPINION BASED OFF THE ABOVE FACTS ,Tom of 'cherry creek landscaping' may be the most unprofessional, narcissistic, arrogant, rude and nasty owners of any business I have ever dealt with in my life and highly do not recommend using his services. I have at least another dozen people who will say the same based off their experience! read more
