    Carmen is amazing, they have been johnny on the spot both times i have had an issue and the handy man with the pony tail is super awesome.

The fact that the business didn't show any concern about what the possible issue was back in 2017, but jumped at the chance to respond with misinformation that is negative about the author of the review speaks volumes in itself. For fact checks, unlike some local property management companies, leeland is not backed by the BBB and has recent negative reviews on there as well.

During the six years I lived…read morein a Leeland property, they paid absolutely NO attention to maintaining my apartment unit. When my bathroom had leakages due to their extremely antiquated and dangerous plumbing system, the maintenance worker arrived at my apartment, did not fix the issue, and proceeded to chastise me for not maintaining the bathroom in good order. When I moved into the unit, the A/C unit in the kitchen was filled with cobwebs and the window could not be opened. The poor ventilation, extremely old carpet, and lead paint in the unit exacerbated my allergies, as well as those of my daughter. On the one occasion Leeland actually did attempt to fix something, they forced ME, as a tenant to pay for it. Never mind the fact that this is illegal under tenant laws in all 50 states, but the "fix" was also mediocre at best. Leeland's acts of slum landlordship pale in comparison to the daylight robbery it has the audacity to engage in on a daily basis. Today, I received a bill from this company for over $2,000 in maintenance charges after moving out of my carefully maintained apartment. Some wear and tear in any unit that has been continually occupied for six years is natural, but nowhere does any of the wear and tear in my unit come close to requiring $2,000 to rectify. If Leeland thinks I will go along with their barefaced robbery, they must be living in a la-la-land of a different galaxy. The only response they will get to their extortive bill is a call from my attorney. Ciao.

    If I could have given a zero rating on this I would have…read more My property was managed by Karen Maravilla when she was with Fadness Realty. When she split off and started her own company I went with her because she had always taken good care of my fathers home. Fast forward 10 years, Karen who had once taken exceptional care of my property in my absence (for which she was well compensated) let my property deteriorate to point that it was on the verge of becoming a section 8 qualified property. Year after year over the last 10 the home was commanding lower and lower rents than it had previously. When I asked what was wrong with the property she claimed that it was the economy and rental market not the property that was the problem. This year, after smelling a rat in some repair bills that were paid out of the rent proceeds I made some phone calls. After hearing from many friends in The Dalles that Karen was becoming the local slum lord property manager we decided to make a trip to the Dalles. What I found was heartbreaking. She had allowed the paint on the house to deteriorate to the point where bare wood was showing. The main sewer line to continue to clog to the point that it is now requiring $2100.00 worth of work to resolve and could have been completely fixed years ago had I known about it. Allowed a former tenant to install a permanent fence on the property and then allowed them to take the entire fence with them when they moved leaving the front yard landscaping a mess. She also allowed her friends at ServePro of Hood River to mess up the painting on the inside of the house by touching up the entire first floors eggshell finish paint with semi-gloss paint and then lied about it to my husbands face. If you value your property and are an out of area owner DO NOT trust your investment to this woman. I don't know what has happened to her over the years to degrade her sense of honesty and propriety but her reputation absolute crap and apparently after the treatment of my property its clear why.

    I would give this company a zero if I could. I have never felt so discriminated against and…read moredisrespected. My experience with Connie has been horrific. I jumped through hoops to get immunizations shots, for my service dogs, and proof that they were service dogs, along with pics! I had to do all of these things before I could even look at this home!! I also had help, from WGAP, to pay rent ,for a year lease, and that was sent to Con, by email. You would think that with everything going on,with COVID, an owner would be happy to get guaranteed rent. Besides the fact, I am a good tenant! When Connie arrived she got out of the car ,with a nasty attitude, and refused to even speak to me, or say hello, until she got half way in the yard. I should of known better when I noticed, on the phone, that she had an attitude! I responded by saying, "You don't have to show me the place if you don't want to, I can look elsewhere." I was also shocked that her company was asking me for 500 dollars "each" for my service animals, and 20 dollars, per dog, for a pet fee each month. This is illegal!! Moving forward, She told me that she was taking application fees, from several people, and couldn't tell me what order I was in, or how far along others were in the application process. She also told me how people were stealing things on the property, behind the house, I was looking at. I actually began to think she was doing everything she could to convince me or dissuade me from considering this property. I then thought, "surely, I must be wrong". Why would she do that? I followed her back to her office to give her money, for a background check, and of course they all of a sudden didn't take cash and I had to get a 50 dollar money order. This was on a Thursday, on January 21. My credit was checked that day, at 11 am, and I realized that it didn't go through. I got a notice, from Experian, that I forgot to unblock my credit, and my credit couldn't be checked. I called her back and she said she would reach out to someone to see if I only had to pay for half, since they got the other two credit companies. It took her 27 hrs to get back to me, which was Friday, at 3:30, the next day. She told me the credit check would just be 25 more dollars. I was driving when she got back late and had to wait the whole weekend, until Monday, to get in touch with her. I would try to communicate with her many times in emails and my emails were IGNORED, prior to this day, and afterwards. On Monday, I called her again and she ran my credit on Monday,at 11, and crickets. Then Tuesday goes by and crickets. I called some of my references and they were told that they gave me great reviews on Tuesday and Wednesday comes around and crickets. Finally, I had enough of this. I emailed Connie at 4:30, Weds eve., and said I feel that this is not the right fit and it is causing me a lot of anxiety and that I felt uncomfortable because of the unprofessionalism from her and the people at her company. Her response was Sorry, you feel uncomfortable but, I told you we were screening several applicants. I would be happy to send your screening results. I asked for the results and if they were denied and didn't get ANYTHING from her.Crickets. This just angered me even more. Something is seriously wrong with people who act like this. I am really considering suing this company. How amazing that after endless emails and phone calls she was unavailable until I said I had enough of this garbage!!! By the way, I didn't get ANYTHING from this lady about my credit check. Nothing They totally SCREWED me over, they discriminated against me and they are UNETHICAL. I am going to speak to a lawyer and reach out to the ADA about their unlawful practice. If I have to, I will SUE them out of principal. I had zero response as to what my background said. STAY FAR AWAY from these people!!! They talk to you badly and look down on you like your trash if you have any help from the government. Apparently, It doesn't matter that I am a substitute teacher, at two different schools and the schools were shut down. I am considering suing them for discrimination and refusing to provide me with any information after taking my application money TWICE. By the way, I saw another review from an gentleman stating that Oak Street hotel and gorge rentals were the same and Oak Street hotel said they weren't and they are! This company is lying. The second time I had my credit run for gorge rentals it was processed through Oak Street hotel and is listed on my bank card as a transaction with them. I definitely never stayed at Oak Street hotel!
