We recently tried One Medical via Amazon…read more This service was advertised as a $49.99 virtual healthcare visit.  Upon learning that we were not physically in the US (we were in France at the time) the doctor said that he is not able to consult. Following my short explanation of the issue, he reiterated that he could not help and I should be seen in person at an urgent care type facility.  This entire call lasted less than 5 minutes.   Imagine the surprise when, a couple of weeks later, I received a bill for $230 with reason as "New Patient Office Visit: Complex".   I reached out to One Medical saying that (1) this was not an office visit (2) it certainly wasn't complex and (3) the rate for a video consult is $49.99. All I received in response was a convoluted boilerplate saying that somewhere/somehow I had picked a different path than Amazon's advertised $49.99 service, resulting in much higher billing for the same service. This response totally ignored the fact that it was not "an office visit" and there is nothing "complex" if the physician is unable to consult.    My subsequent email reiterating that this was not an office visit, that the virtual meeting lasted less than 5 mins, was by no means complex and the only outcome was the suggestion to go to an urgent care facility went unanswered. Yet the bills just keep coming. To me, this is a clear case of bait and switch wrapped around overbilling with incorrect service description. Needless to say, I have no plans to pay this outrageous and improper bill. Moreover, if One Medical do not address their disengenous practice of claiming a brief and utterly useless chat with someone who was not able to offer any medical opinion or input as a "complex visit", I plan to broadly expose this practice on social media, and report it to compliance, health authorities, consumer protection as well as to Amazon executives as they should re-evaluate their relationship with such a shady operation.

Her warm personality, combined with solid knowledge, experience and empathy are all key parts that make her so special. Her nurse Dana is exceptional, and helps run that office efficiently and professionally. I love the fact that appointments are easy to come by, and that you are not rushed in and out. With her concierge practice, communication via phone, email, text are common place. That sort of communication really gives me peace of mind. i know that she is always looking out for me,and cares for me as she would a family member. It does not get any better.. I do not live close to the office, but we make it work. I share Susan's philosophy of wellness, and we do things proactively. The rest of the office, doctors and staff are all excellent. I would trust any of the doctors in dr Hoffman's absence. They have a lab in the office, and also administer EKG 's on site. She does not accept insurance, and has a monthly fee based practice. Best money I have ever spent.

When she decided she needed to downsize her practice to achieve better life balance, she did so through a LOTTERY. I mean puh-leeze. Losers in the lottery were notified by Certified Mail that they were being fired as patients. I kid you not. I had been a patient of hers for over 20 years, so needless to say I was shocked and disgusted by this insensitive practice. No need to try and get in to see her. She's not accepting new patients. And if she were, I would not trust her again.

However, I think her comment that "...[Dr. Bunting] has demonstrated questionable business and patient care standards in her practice." is WHOLLY inaccurate and unfair. I have been a patient of Dr. Bunting's for more than a decade and she is nothing less than the most knowledgeable, thoughtful and caring physician I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. She is consistently up-to-date on the latest medical research and techniques and has on numerous occasions been able to correctly diagnose and treat specific conditions either missed or misdiagnosed by other doctors. Dr. Bunting made the tough decision to scale back her practice and as someone who struggles with their own "work-life" balance, I applaud her for doing so.
