I was a patient at Aspen Dental in both Battle Creek Mi and Sebring FL. Two implants and another extraction, I had an infection and needed to be seen. Aspen in Sebring never returned my call. When I did get through, I was placed on hold for 20 before I hung up. Chen Dental was recommended by a friend so I made an appointment and I am so happy I did. Chen Dental is huge on customer service, extremely professional, and the dental work I'm receiving is second to none. A great BIG thanks to Dr. Ward and his amazing team, Ms. Roxana and Ms. Neli for all the detailed, wonderful, little things they did to make my visits accommodating and pleasant. Dr. Ward did an incredible job with my full mouth extraction. I was very anxious beforehand, but his expertise and level of care eased my mind. He carefully removed each tooth (gently swiveling them out) and made sure I had enough topical and injectable anesthesia. The overall procedure was only a couple of hours, efficient, and painless. Rude, don't care a thing about the patient, paid for my xrays and exam out of my own pocket, not insurance, from an offer they sent through the mail and then they refused to give me copies of the results of my visit. Wow what a great place!! I'm very anxious when it comes to dentists. From the moment I signed in the staff was all about making sure I was comfortable. They have a comfort menu, how great is that!! The hygienist was wonderful and caring. Dr Galarza was all about making sure I was comfortable and at ease before starting anything. She had to extract my tooth took less than 5 minutes pain free!! As an older Yelper I have been to quite a few medical professionals over the years and nothing even comes close to this experience! PAPERWORK- You know the deal. At its worst it can be a nightmare. This is an example of the best. There was a bump in the road regarding my insurance that was my fault and they handled it so beautifully I was blown away. TECHNOLOGY- State-of-the art X 10! Every piece of equipment that can make your experience less painful and more efficient is here. You might think the President is in the building because most of the staff has that telltale wire coming from their earpiece. They use them to great advantage. DON'T GO HERE. When my wife and I were looking for a new dentist We tried Chen dental. They said that they didn't know whether or not they accepted our insurance but they would let us know AFTER THE APPOINTMENT SOMETIME. No privacy there at all, overheard them asking people as well as myself if you have aids or any other diseases. No doors on the individual rooms only curtains. They spent more time trying to get to know you than they did actual work. Probably would have been done an hour earlier if they didn't talk so much. Had a "deep cleaning" finding out that nothing is Standard, everything is extra (Ala cart). I guess we are paying for all of the anemnities in the waiting room such as a massage chair and snacks. Several weeks later I received a bill, but no calls telling me that I am not in their network. I owe them some money on my bill for some time. , and my wife went in for a cleaning.She paid off the balance or so I thought on her credit card and asked is there anything else and they said no. I'll preface my review by stating I'm new to Sebring, and only landed here because of covid19. My dentist is in Miami and had I known what to expect from Chen Dental I would've taken the 3 hour drive and saved myself the headache and money. I waited almost 5 weeks for their first available slot for a consultation and cleaning back to back with my husband. I had called multiple times to confirm their price for a cleaning and somehow understood it was $79 for new patients. They have a script and let me tell you its GOOD. I must've asked 4-5 times the cost, and whatever and however she replied made me believe that $79 was the price (consultation and cleaning) Which yes is inexpensive, but again I'm new to Sebring and this is a small town, thought it was fair. Many dentists across the country have jumped on a new sales method which pushes exorbitant and unnecessary treatments on people ages 30 and above. Doesn't matter the age, If you're older than 30 (which I am) a cleaning will cost over a thousand dollars at any of these given dental practices and done in 3 phases. $1028 to be exact, that's what I was quoted for a cleaning at Sham Dental. Their attempt to sell me the peri-something therapy as they call their version of a cleaning started by sitting me in a chair, poking my gums for 20 minutes with a sharp tool, saying numbers 1-5 (1 being healthy gums, 5 being unhealthy ) of course most of my gums according to their dentist ranged from 4-5. Followed by an explanation as to why they have to numb my mouth and get under the gums to 'deep clean' or else well I'd probably lose all my teeth. I know better than to believe this nonsense so got out of my chair and walked into my husbands bay just as he was being quoted. He's 29 and interested in Invisalign, his cleaning quote was around $300 plus the Invisalign-- total quote was over $7,000. I've priced out Invisalign and thought they were charging the standard, so politely told them we'd be back for the Invisalign but will get the cleaning done elsewhere. They told me that was not possible because they won't go forward without a cleaning done at their practice. Not sure what kind of naive clientele they're accustomed to but that response was another red flag. You're not allowed to choose a standard cleaning either. You're ONLY allowed to do what their hygienist recommends and their hygienist are trained to sell. Chen Dental has excellent reviews and was referred to me by a relative in Sebring. Regretfully, that is the only reason I gave them a shot. They knew I was paying out of pocket, yet didn't charge me before getting treated. Anyone that has ever paid anything medical out of pocket knows they're paying first. I basically paid $79 to have my mouth poked. This practice is beautiful, clean and elegant. After doing some deep research I chose Chendental. This place is the caviar of the dental offices! From top of the line equipment to the latest procedures in dentistry. The icing on the cake is the staff friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, willing to listen, all in a very professional manner. They are either the nicest group of people I've ever met professionally in healthcare for services or they are the The ultimate in phony, Either way doesn't matter because they all know what they are doing from the receptionist to the guided tour guy, x-ray techs and they even have a gum specialist that actually knows what she's doing apparently. They have a quick and easy servicing set up and you can walk right in. They will see you if you can wait a little bit. I didn't even have to wait that long in fact I could've waited longer because they have an excellent massage chair in the waiting room and snacks and coffee. They have top-of-the-line technology that I've never seen anywhere else, and if you need invisible braces that would be the place to go. They have invisalign. Dr. Chen Is a very knowledgeable and honest man, so it seems and didn't feed me any crappy lies, just to make money. Oh yeah and they gave me a free travel mug and they're all so nice that I felt like I was in a cult , I didn't wanna leave! Lol I have a cleaning tomorrow, I hope that goes well and I hope they call me to remind me what time it's going to be. I lost my card. But not happy I'm going to lose the tooth that everyone will be able to see, but I can't afford a root canal and another crown.
