It's on the main strip of busy Bourke but up some escalators. Don't be fooled as you walk through as you have no idea what's down those stairs. Allocate some time when you visit, you'll need it! There are just rows of female skin care products and make up where, as a man, I like to pick up the cheaper deodorants and body washes. The lady working there was also really good with helping a couple of us work out some cheap make up products for a university film project. It can be scary going to buy these sorts of products at other stores as I had no idea at how expensive "good" make up and shampoos really are! I'm glad there's a place like Chemist Warehouse around for me.
Chemist Warehouse claims to "the cheapest pharmacy". This is FALSE advertising! They might be cheap…read morefor vitamins but not for private scripts! They tell you that they are giving you a cheap generic, but if you shop around you can often get a better price elsewhere. I found out yesterday that I could get an equivalent script at Priceline for less than half of Chemist Warehouse charged me last year! As a pensioner, I found it outrageous having to pay over $50 for 6 tablets there in May! People go to Chemist Warehouse automatically because they believe the advertising - that's why you have to wait a long time for scripts. I got sick of waiting a few months ago and went into Priceline to check the price of a private script to discover that is was the same, so I started going there instead and find the service is faster and the pharmacist and staff are more helpful and friendly. I also was pleased to see that the Pharmacist informed me of a much cheaper option through the PBS to get the equivalent of a very pricey private script. Priceline Balaclava also give Seniors Discount on normal priced items. It's about time Chemist Warehouse showed more interest in helping customers to find the cheapest price instead of lining their own pockets! The service there also leaves a lot to be desired as it's often hard to find a staff member to assist you and they don't always know their stuff.

I spoke with a chemist regarding my issues and she was so helpful with recommending to me what I needed, especially since I was feeling pretty clueless. She is like a second mother where I go there when I feel a little sick, she finds me some suitable drugs, and I'm good as new within a day or two. She is good because she recommends the natural medicines first, which I like, then if it's something bad will go to the heavier stuff. I'm happy to say that they take the time to really make sure they can help you in the right way and aren't quick to prescribe something. They take the time with you and I've always felt much better walking out with the medicine in my hand as it has been explained clearly to me what I'm taking. Health is important and they seem to actually care, which can be rare these days. As for the GP, I've only heard good things from friends that go there but if it's anything like their Chemist downstairs, then they'll be great.

I usually buy toiletries here when I run out but can't be bothered going further to buy my favourite brand. They stock quite a good range of skincare products like Burt's Bees, Akin and other organic and natural skincare brands, if you're into that sort of thing, which I am. They also often have items on sale, which if you're not fussy about brands then you can take advantage of these savings. Just double check your receipt before you leave the store - twice I've been charged the full price amount for the sale item. The second time it happened, the salesperson asked me to wait whilst she checked the price point advertised on the display shelf because apparently they often tag the wrong items for sale! Perhaps competency isn't their thing, but there are bargains to be had.
