Been coming here since my new 1995 ford 1 ton van had a vibration when it shifted and the local Ford dealer sent it to Scott to tear it apart and check it over, figured if a dealer would send him work, then he knew what he was doing, l wasn't wrong. Scott at Larry's has always been my go to for problems and I've never been disappointed!

I could feel something was wrong in the drive system of my 2020 Ford Escape, so I took it to a…read morelocal garage. The mechanic there took it for a ride without me and came back 15 minutes later and told me I needed a new transmission. He would put one in for $7000! I thought I should get a second opinion. I went to Lakeside Transmissions on Groesbeck in Mt Clemens because of all the good reviews they have. The owner of the shop, Jacques, took me with him on a test ride with some instruments. He checked a lot of things and said he didn't get any error codes that indicated anything was wrong, even though he could feel the problem as we drove around. My Escape has over 80,000 miles on it, and I told Jacques that I had never had the transmission fluid changed. He said to call him the next day, so he could do some research. I took my Escape home. When I called Jacques the next day, he asked me to come back. We took my Escape out for another test ride with even more instruments. He still did not get any error codes indicating I needed a new transmission. However, he had an idea of what the problem was and felt that changing the transmission fluid would be the first thing to do. He changed the transmission fluid (at a great price), and the problem went away! My Escape now runs like new! I can't thank him enough for all the time and research he put into trying to give me the right diagnosis. I have never had such a true professional, as Jacques, work on any of my cars before! I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND LAKESIDE TRANSMISSIONS!!!

My one buddy had his trans rebuilt there and it puked all the trans fluid out two weeks later. I know there a bunch of good reviews, but I'm telling you it's not the place it used to be. Many years ago it was a great place, the quality of work and the customer service has gone down hill. They charged my buddy $4000 for a trans that didn't even last a year and a half. That's garbage.
