FRESH GINGER?…read more no? maybe that's just me? anyhow, new zealand's a fine place to be a ginger-lover (i've already sampled three different varieties of micro-brewed ginger beer and, have since become an addict). tangent aside, this juice bar hits the spot. not only is it directly across from my office, they also have reasonable prices, you don't have to wait in an obnoxious 15 minute line (*cough* tank *cough*) and they use hurom slow juicers which are designed to squeeze every last nutrient out of that fruit, veggie, nourishment of choice. today i opted for a beet, apple, fresh ginger (DUH) concoction which had the perfect amount of zing to get me through tuesday afternoon. a small 3-4 veggie/fruit juice (served in a generous 16oz cup) will set you back $5.90 - which i think is pretty fair given competitor prices and the quality of the juice. plus the service is so darn friendly, you just have to return the smiles. i do wish they provided straws, though. something just feels weird about sipping a freshly squeezed juice coffee-style.

The juices and smoothies however are killer and they do an amazing range of salads and interesting snacks - all of them healthy and raw and surprisingly tasty. They use all organic produce so the juices in particular are so good! They have popular juice options but they're really accommodating if there's a particular combination you want to try - I always get pineapple carrot ginger and lemon....YUM! So so good. Just don't come here if you're in a rush...think hippy vibe in the country and you're on the right track, they definitely take their sweet ass time. They actually have quite a lot of products for babies which I'm always on the lookout for, they stock the whole Weleda range and also the range of Tru2U sleep support products which are amazing! Believe me, I spent a whole year of no sleep trying to figure out the best way for baby and me to get optimum rest and this stuff has helped so much. I have been through the cafe numerous times busily rushing to and from the library, and only recently decided why not stop for a bite to eat with the little man, and ofcourse he was delighted. The outdoor seating, suited us perfectly- quite a few wooden tables and chairs at the entrance. I ordered a slice of carrot cake, and a mochacinno and for the boy a mini savoury mince pie and a fluffy. Cake was amazing, fruity, mosit and nutty with a lovely icing, the coffee also really good. My boy demolished his litttle pie, and his fluffy was in a much bigger sized cup than normal fluffys but also looked great! Honestly, I was suprised how much I enjoyed the visit, and I know this will be a regular for us, just for the pure convenience of it all.
