King bedroom - outdated and dimly lit at night :(

Wow, I am kind of very sad we spent our vacation with this hotel for how much we paid. Based on their website photos of nice, new, clean rooms and what we were told by the front desk, there's borderline false advertising, so think twice if you're planning to stay at Chelsea Hotel. There is A TON of room for improvement! When booking, we requested a newer, updated room. When checking in, the front desk confirmed we would get an updated room, and when we walked into our room.... It was sadly very old and frankly unclean. Hotels misleading customers is not a good thing. If you need to use the Red elevators to get to your room, you likely have an old room. The bathroom fan turns on if the lights are on and was so incredibly loud that we wore ear plugs when we were in the restroom (except for showering of course). It was not entirely clean upon check in-- there were pieces of dried rice on the floor and a large greasy hand mark on the bed headboard (yikes!!). That was not cleaned off until we requested it to be on the third day. After our room was serviced, our bed was made with sheets that visibly had holes... awesome. Don't even think about using the balcony, as ours likely wasn't cleaned in a few years and was encrusted in dried pigeon poop. The amenities are quite poor. High speed wifi? Nope, it was extremely slow and kept disconnecting. We called the front desk to try and troubleshoot without avail, and it was frankly excruciating to try browsing anything on our phones. There's no refrigerator, and outlets are not very accessible (there's only 1 charging outlet accessible from the bed). We were excited to work out but discovered the gym is in the pool area = very humid (and chlorine-smelly) = not at all great for working out, so we never used the gym. The even sadder thing? The hotel reached out asking how our stay was going on the second day and we raised our concerns to them but never received a reply. Guess how we were doing was not a genuine concern.... It would be nice to get a reply to know that hospitality was their priority. On the positive side, it was air conditioned and the bed was comfortable. There was an express check out / key drop to avoid their never-ending lines at the front desk. The only true plus and saving grace is that the location of the hotel is convenient, just a few blocks from the subway station and with tons of restaurants nearby to choose from. I don't give out many 1 star reviews but Chelsea Hotel was literally the worst hotel experience I've had that I can remember. Bottom line-- I would most definitely recommend choosing elsewhere if there's an option until they have all their rooms renovated and improve their amenities.

This hotel is located in a great area! We were able to walk to a lot of places from the hotel. The hotel itself is very large. They have a parking garage but we were able to find cheaper parking on spot hero. The lobby is very large and has a Resturant, event space, gift shop, etc. the check in process took a whileeee so beware. The room itself was fine. It had the basics that we needed for a weekend. It also had a little balcony which was nice. I was nervous to stay here based on the other reviews, but we truly didn't mind this hotel and I'm low key a hotel snob. Lol

Stayed here recently and it was okay. For the price it is a bit underwhelming, but everything is pricey anymore. Room was mostly clean, balcony was a mess due to pigeons. Staff were quick at off peak times, but the lobby gets very crowded around regular check in/out times. Free popcorn though which is nice. Overall it was acceptable and okay, neither great nor bad. It has a good central location to downtown which is the main appeal.

The Chelsea hotel is a one star at best. After walking around beautiful Toronto all day, came back to my room and wanted to get cleaned up for dinner. Walked in the bathroom turned on the shower and this is what I saw. Absolutely disgusting. Went downstairs and spoke with the manager he replied, "would you like me to send maintenance up". I said, "I think you're going to need to send up the hazmat team." Do yourself a favor don't stay here unless you like staying in a pig pen.

This is the largest hotel in Canada because there are 1,590 guest rooms and suites. There are convention rooms (on the second floor), 3 restaurants (on the ground floor), a KidZone with 2 indoor pools and has an indoor water slide where one part goes outdoors. There is paid underground hotel parking. It is in the heart of downtown being close to Eaton Centre, Yonge-Dundas Square, movie theatres, other restaurants, etc. There is an outdoor courtyard where they can host outdoor activities like BBQ events. There are two main towers. One was renovated after 2010 so is more modern but the other tower looks very dated. It was opened 1975-10-15 and operated by Delta Hotels as Delta Chelsea Inn. On 2012-12-19, it was purchased by Great Eagle Holdings and was changed to Delta Chelsea Toronto and under control of its subsidiary Langham Hospitality Group. On 2013-07-01, it was renamed Eaton Chelsea. In early 2015, it was rebranded as Chelsea Hotel. Being near several downtown hospitals, a patient of the hospital can pay a reduced rate. The hotel hosts many air crews. One of the check-in counters has stairs with 3 steps where young guests can check-in. During the Dec holiday period, there are holiday-related displays including a gingerbread house contests where guests anonymously vote for their favourite design. Going around the houses is an electric train. There is a Santa Claus during the month of Dec where you can take pictures for free. The line is never more than 2 long. Throughout the year, they have hand out free popcorn and/or soft drinks. There is free WiFi. There are washrooms on the ground floor. Unfortunately in the near future, the entire property will be converted into 3 towers, 2 as hotels and 1 as an office tower. There will be retail businesses on the first 2 floors. 2021-003

Staying here for work and this hotel is terrible. - hole in the wall from damage - funky smell when I first got in - air conditioning makes a whistling noise - bath shower is so old and leaks when turning off - shower head pressure is non-existent - huge lines at concierge and they don't staff accordingly But this one triumphs all... My comforter has dried blood ALL over it I'd suggest staying somewhere else

I stayed a weekend at Chelsea hotel in Toronto for a work conference. My initial entry , I had hard time to understand my attendant at the check in, since I am sharing my room with coworkers; I wanted to make sure the bills can be split. It was so complicated for the guy, finally we came to understand each other better. Don't get me wrong, he was super nice. The language barrier was an issue between us. The reception area is humongous and beautiful. The elevators are old and little run down. I stayed on the 19th floor. The hallway were very spooky. My room was far from the elevators, i felt I would never reach to my room. Finally, I entered my room, which had two standard beds, and a washroom. The room was pretty, clean and tight. Anyway, the washroom was clean and well functioning. Beds were very comfortable. The room has thin walls, therefore the noise from neighbors and from the street was too disturbing. Initially, the conference/Chelsea hotel provided us pretty dry food buffet for breakfast and lunch (croissants, muffins, fruits with coffee and tea, then sandwiches with salad, and mini brown sugar tarts. Thankfully, evening buffet supper was hearty with salmon, roasted vegetables, and pilaf. On my last day, at breakfast, there were breakfast sandwiches with meat only. I was disappointed since I am a vegetarian. Eva who is bringing out food from the kitchen, I asked if there is a vegetarian option, she was so nice, she said, she will get a vegan sandwich, I can sit down and she will bring to my table. And she did, a huge bow to Eva for being so nice and she took care of my hungry belly. As for the amenities, I enjoyed their pool on the deck, i was able to some laps then soaked myself in their hot whirlpool, which was super relaxing. At the end of my stay, the reception cleared my bill, and I was on my way home, happily ever after.

First impression: Inelegantly old and inexplicably overpriced. We walked into a room with only 1 bed so we requested a cot for our child, since there wasn't even a decent sized sofa for her to sleep on. They gave us the option of a $20 one time charge or an upgrade to two doubles for $15/night. Ah well, at least an upgrade would get us a better room than the sad little 7th floor one we were currently calling from, right? No such luck. The 12th floor room was just as depressing, the RR lights just as dingy, and the carpet as well equipped to hide dirt and mustard stains as the 7th floor carpeting. Its redeeming qualities were its central downtown location, the amazing views, separate indoor pools for adults (27th floor) and children (2nd), in which there was a thrilling slide (according to DH), life vests, pool noodles, and a whirlpool. Outside the swimming area are an arcade and a dry play area for small children. And like another Yelper mentioned, on our last of 2 nights, the fire alarm sounded for about 30 minutes, with intermittent announcements about investigations into an incident on the 2nd floor. People on floors 1, 2, and 3 were evacuated while everyone else was told to stay in their rooms. This was after 10 pm. On the one hand we were ready for bed, it was getting chilly outside, and we would've had to go down 12 floors. On the other hand, my child is freaking out and I'm standing on the balcony gauging our chances of survival if we had to jump or climb down. Last impression was the same as my first, but a little more tempered by time, distance, and the comfort of writing this from my own bed.

**Christmas Cheers with a Touch of Glam**…read more Celebrated a Christmas party at Storys Building, and the experience was a mix of luxury, fun, and high energy. The first two floors are dedicated to dinner seating, while the third floor hosts parties and gatherings. The space worked, but with the number of people invited, it felt a bit tight -- something to keep in mind for larger groups. The vibe was fantastic. Drinks were expertly crafted, the bartenders were attentive, and a DJ kept the energy flowing in the background. As the night progressed, everyone hit the dance floor, and the party truly came alive. Bathrooms were plentiful and well-maintained, and the thoughtful touch of wellness kits in the ladies' room added a hint of luxury. One minor hiccup was the coat check -- it was a bit congested and struggled to accommodate all the coats. But my biggest suggestion for improvement would be the addition of an elevator. Climbing three floors in heels and dresses proved challenging for many, and an elevator would make the space more accessible without taking away from its elegance. Overall, Storys Building delivers a lively, luxurious, and memorable party experience. The energy, drinks, and attention to detail make it a spot worth revisiting -- just come prepared for a little stair workout if you're headed to the third floor.

I've been to other events where the coat check staff had lost my jacket, so the extra care on my belongings added to the positive experience. The staff there were pleasant and even remembered my face when I checked out my coat on the way out. The hors d'oeuvres were great, I enjoyed everything I tried, like the mini sliders, fried chicken, and bruschetta. We also had a taco station that was good too. I didn't expect any less since they are under the same hospitality group as Byblos and Patria, which I've dined at before and enjoyed. The biggest plus is the location, at the heart of the Entertainment District. It's close to many offices and the Financial District. Our cocktail hour ended in 2hrs but there are plenty of bars nearby to extend the get together for another drink. For example, Grace O'Malley's is just across the street and not too busy to grab a seat on a weekday night.

But I did get a chance to check out their Oval Boardroom and the gallery downstairs where the movie was screened. unfortunaly the event was pretty low lit (you know being Halloween and all) so I wasn't able to really admire the venue, but it seemed great for a medium sized event (I'm not great at guessing numbers but I'd say 150-ish people). The Oval Boardroom amongst a few other smaller rooms was where we spent an hour or so with actors who would act out specific scenes from the movie. It is definitely a very interesting space, again, I didn't get a chance to really walk around to see what some of the items that were a part of the Heritage Centre's deco were like, but there seemed to be a few interesting looking frames around. I'm not sure who catered the food, so I can't really speak for any of the actual venues food, we didn't have hor d'oeuvre served which is usually the case for 360 screenings, so I'm not sure if that was due to the venue or our event hosts. I really didn't have much to add so go over and read that if you have a sec. Shoutout to Lydia. Instead, I'll just recap our experience here like any other boring Yelp Review. We came to this Toronto location before the Taylor Swift concert, and I was pleasantly surprised. It felt like prime Soho House. A beautiful, discrete brick building with an old school interior. Whoever designed this one needs a raise. I'm so tired of the cookie cutter half-assed modern architecture. The ones in LA and NY now feel like it is just a bunch of dorks trying to be seen by God knows who. There is no soul in those locations. We grabbed a drink in the lobby and went upstairs for our 5pm dinner. I domed a couple of negronis and we split a margherita pizza and a bottle of pinot noir before our mains arrived. I got the rigatoni, per the waitresses recommendation because she had a thick Italian accent. Big truss. She wasn't lying either, that rigatoni went crazy. I took like 30 pictures before a staff member came over and said no pictures, as I didn't know that was still a rule here... please don't beat me up. We closed dinner with a couple espresso martinis before setting off on foot to go see Big Tay put on a show. She really did her thing. Thank you Soho House Toronto, for giving me a taste of what the Soho House used to be in the states. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

Come for the douche bags, stay for the salad. The interior…read moredesign here is actually nice. They have a eclectic and faux rustic vibe going on with seating and sight lines set up so that you can watch who is in the room. Truly designed for today's busy d-bag to allow them to half listen to their guest over cocktails while they scan the room to see if someone more important has walked in. The food is meh and it feels like this place simply exists for indie film and local television producers to feel like they are a part of some scene. There are 200 better places to eat a short walk from here.

My fiance and I attended an open house event whist considering the venue for our wedding reception…read morenext year. The venue itself was unique, easy to find on King Street, and had lots of space to move around in - there were two floors that we had access to. Loved the solarium area of the upstairs part of the space, which had lighted trees set up in it and overlooked a gorgeous little parkette with a water fall. They also had amazing pieces of art on the wall and had tables set up with various colour schemes for consideration. We were also treated to many passed appetizers they make in house while viewing the space. All were very good however my fave were the crispy wrapped shrimp, so delicious! The staff representing the venue were very friendly and polite, making sure we were attended to and answering any questions we had. A great venue to look into if you would like to throw a party in a unique space in Toronto with great food/drink options!

Attended a wedding here. It was a nice venue, but definitely had some flaws…read more Venue: It definitely looks beautiful, and to be able to find a venue with a rustic feel right in the city is nice. There's affordable parking around the area. It was awkward to be told that the coat checks are at the back of the venue, because you had to walk down the aisle and basically walk all the way to where the groom is getting ready. The chairs were not the most comfortable, and they were wooden, so they were quite noisy. Also, there is not a lot of seating, so many people are standing in the front area, even thought it was probably a wedding of less than 75 guests. The upper dining areas is nice; the solarium was bright and beautiful. However, the shape of the dining area is a giant ring, which means there isn't really a central place for the wedding couple/family to sit. Staff: Friendly staff, however they need to work on their attentiveness. Half of the table I was seated at was served, coffee/tea and the other half didn't get served. And no one was checking in on us. When we finally got the attention of one of the people, he directed us to ask a server instead (guess he wasn't a server?!). Food: Very good food. Enjoyed the meal very much. Overall, it is more like a 3.5 out of 5.
