This place cracks me up, it's like a customer service training video on what not to do. This is the…read morefirst place of where we were told "why?!" When we said "thank you" to the cashier upon leaving with our items. And it's really not you if you find the cashiers sucking their teeth at you and don't utter a word throughout the transaction. It's them, I really think a majority of them are allergic to being nice. But we saw the best experience last week: Customer: "you shut up" Cashier: "no you shut up" Customer: " you shut up you're a grown woman shut up" Cashier " I don't need to shut up you need to shut up" Customer "shut up shut up shut up" Cashier " you shut up shut up shut up!" (While being dragged away by another cashier) Shopping and entertainment? We think so. We've also learned over the past few years that the items fluctuate in pricing. Earlier this year we bought a 55" tv for $850 the next few days we went back to get another one the price jumped to $999.99. There is no price match here, only a "I think we priced it wrong when it went out onto the floor". Same thing happened for a ottoman we purchased. We got it for $99, we decided again to get a second one and found the price jumped to $299. So lesson learned here, is that if you like it and it looks reasonably priced, it is probably due to human error, so buy it now before they catch the mistake. Also make sure you check expiration dates, they don't care if you take expired items or items a few days away from hitting those dates. The worst part of this store is the to go food counter. Beware of the undercooked grey meat and if you complain about your fries being cold be prepared to get a stinky look. The best was a few days ago the hubby asked 3 employees lined up (back behind the counter doing NOTHING )if they were going to give us our order and the response was a stare back and the cashier going off on them and still no order. This is one of the few stores with no hurricane damage, they carry Kirkland products and they are still receiving regular shipments so you can actually find things. What's scary about all of this is that pricesmart isn't that bad in comparison to other grocery stores so imagine of what you'll get to deal with elsewhere! #St.Thomas #USVI

Island life rules definitely apply to this store, if you can't find it here, you won't be able to buy it. Luckily, they've probably got you covered with such a large, varied, interesting inventory. Thank you Medicine Shoppe for making my vacation a little extra special. I did leave with my gum. Did I buy anything else??? Maybe I did, maybe I didn't but I'll never tell.

For you whiskey drinkers out there, Johnny Walker Gold is cheap, $45 for a large bottle when Kmart sells it at $55. Johnny walker black is also on sale 2 for $68. They also have the coveted White Hennessy for $50, which is dirt cheap, this pure white cognac isn't sold in the US and my friends back stateside have told me they have paid close to $100 per bottle to get it. It is veeerrrryyy smooth. This store is one of the best ways to transport alcohol stateside without it breaking all over your stuff in your luggage and weighing it down. I wish they had a wine section. If you're not into the alcohol the other 50% of this store is perfume, which is all reasonably priced. I always stock up on my Marc Jacobs Daisy here. 4.25fl oz for $70 is about $25 cheaper than at retail stores. The employees here aren't pushy on sales either. I think they are bored and just looking for someone to talk to about anything. If you've got time to kill in this tiny airport check this store out. #byebye #St.Thomas #USVI

I have to say, if you want to purchase rum on St. Thomas, with the exception of Cost U Less, Kmart…read moreis the place to buy it. The booze prices are really affordable, although I noticed they fluctuated almost daily. Also, if you buy 3 or more bottles they will provide you with a complimentary cardboard carrying box. Our party ended up buying 12 bottles of rum, which fit into two of the carrying boxes. We also purchased two small rolls of bubble wrap to wrap each bottle in and then packed the boxes carefully for the long flight home. They managed to make it through two plane changes without breaking AND there is some sort of deal where some of the airlines will not charge you an extra baggage fee for the box. We flew on American Airlines and if you fly AA from St. Thomas or St. Croix to the states, you can have one of these boxes placed in checked luggage without paying the extra baggage fee of $25. We were pretty uncertain as to if this was really going to happen, but it did! Compared to the prices for Cruzan back home, ti was a great deal. I'm wishing I would have brought myself a six pack of Cruzan, too! Ce'st la vie! Anyway, back to KMart, it's your standard Kmart, a great place to grab those things you forgot. The prices are a little higher than at home, but not horrible and they have all the same stuff you're used to seeing, plus great deals on bathing suits! Another thing is that they have free wi-fi here so you see TONS of people - I think from the cruise ships sitting in the parking lot with their laptops and msart phones getting their Internet fiend on. Convenient location, tight parking, overall handy. There is a second location further away in the TuTu area.
