My department is comprised of all remote workers, so we usually only see each other in virtual meetings. Just shy of 40 people broke up into 4 teams to cook 4 separate dishes from veggie to dessert. We had such a great time! I always send out a survey to my team regarding the annual event and every bit of feedback I received regarding the Iron Chef Experience was 100% positive! The experience was well organized, well managed, and in a great facility. All of the food was amazing and I feel some great bonds were formed across all areas of my department. I would highly recommend these guys for whatever level of event you are looking into.

We made a delicious salad dressing, chicken Florentine, ratatouille, and flaming cherries jubilee, to pour on top of a decadent Bobby Boy's Bakery chocolate cake! Everything was delicious. Chef Don regaled us with interesting stories of his world travels as a chef on a private yacht, chef for a catering company that served several major airlines, executive chef for a major tobacco company, and chef and owner of several restaurants. All who attended felt like we learned some tricks, were well fed, and made a new friend!

My dad's custom-made 80th birthday cake from Danielle Kattan Cakes turned out to be a success…read more Everyone was very happy with it. We asked for a golf-themed birthday cake and Danielle exceeded our expectations. Danielle Kattan Cakes is based out of The Canvas Cake Studio in Winston-Salem, NC. Same business address. Danielle Kattan Cakes does custom cakes and The Canvas Cake Studio is a cake-decorating studio that hosts family-friendly classes, parties, and other fun events. Both are owned and run by Danielle. My wife found Danielle by doing a Google search for custom cake makers in the Piedmont Triad. Danielle was one of the top results and she had stellar reviews. My wife communicated with Danielle via email. Danielle asked if there was a specific design we'd like and if we had pictures to share. My wife shared a picture of a golf-themed cake that she thought was cute. However, she told Danielle to feel free to put her own creative spin on it. She also told Danielle that the grandkids call my dad "Gong Gong." Anticipating 13-15 guests, Danielle quoted $145-$165. Our actual payment was $165 plus $11.55 tax for a total of $176.55. We were invoiced through The Canvas Cake Studio. Danielle recommended we pick up the same day about 2-4 hours before the event. After that, we were told to refrigerate the cake until 2 hours before serving. We followed these guidelines and everything turned out great. Not only did the cake look spectacular, but it tasted delicious too. We chose Cleo's Almond and Coconut Signature Cake Flavor from Danielle's website. It's described as: "Light moist layers of almond and coconut semolina cake filled with orange blossom buttercream iced with a swirly combination of coconut and orange blossom buttercream." https://www.daniellekattancakes.com/signature-cakes/ The pictures and video of the cake, that I posted here on Yelp, speak for themselves. We loved it. I especially loved the golf glove on top of the cake that said "Happy Birthday Gong Gong," the golf bag and clubs, and the gold golf ball teed up in a patch of grass with the number '80' on it. I could tell the cake was made with a lot of thought and care, and I loved the attention to detail. It was simply amazing all around. Danielle is so skilled. My wife started emailing with Danielle about 7 weeks before the event. Sometimes, it took Danielle many days to respond and my wife would have to follow up when not hearing back after 5, 10, 20+ days. So, communication wasn't the best. We had a day-of backup plan just in case things didn't work out. We picked up the cake at The Canvas Cake Studio on a Sunday morning shortly after 10:00am. My wife called Danielle to let her know that we were on our way. No one answered, so she left a voicemail. The strip where The Canvas Cake Studio is located, Jonestown Plaza, was dead, but we did see a car parked in the back which gave us hope. Danielle's son Adrian was waiting inside for us and we picked up the cake from him. He was polite and kind. Adrian was the one who told us to refrigerate until 2 hours before serving. The studio itself was charming. Thank you, Danielle and Adrian, for helping to make my dad's 80th special and memorable!

I had tried…read morea few others in the area but one place (won't mention who but it rhymes with Lewey's!) never responded to my multiple emails and calls. And another actual favorite of mine (Little Cake Company) was booked through Mother's Day Weekend. Danielle responded within an hour or two of my email and we texted back and forth about the details. I was worried about the cake not being able to serve 25-30 people but it got the job done easily and then some! I ordered a tie-dye cake with "Happy 40th Birthday, Ken!" written on it. The only hiccup which I actually didn't even notice immediately was that they had written Kent instead (I sent a photo to my friends and they asked if I was going to get it corrected - ha!) The shop took care if it immediately and the cake was a hit at the party. Loved the funfetti flavor and vanilla ice cream. Few days later and I am still chipping away at it, and it's just as tasty as the day I picked it up. Maybe slightly on the pricier side but for a custom request and that much detail in the scoring/design, totally worth it! Thanks Danielle/Canvas Cakes - I will definitely be back for future party needs!! @azfitfoodfun

I've been…read morewith the grands to the Science Center many times, and today was my first visit with them to the Greensboro Children's Museum. They have carefully and creatively designed areas for the children to explore. I was impressed that some of them are designed for the 5-year-old + crowd to create things to make them work, such as a movable pipe system to create paths for balls to go through. There were so many hands-on activities for the kids. A grocery store, pizza parlor, Postal Service, and Medical Center, are all designed to let the kids pretend to their heart's content. Kids seemed to love the transportation area, will full-size police car, fire truck, mail truck, EMS, and my personal favorite - the NASCAR race cars. The final area we visited (my son-in-law knew to make it the last thing) was the waterworks play area. Very clever water activities for all the kids and wisely placed dryers to dry wet hands (maybe some shirts as well!) Since it was December and chilly we didn't explore the huge outdoor activity area. Very nice museum for the kids!

A Greensboro Classic, Fun for Kids and Adults Alike!…read more I've attended a few of the adult-only events (On-Tap, 90s Night) and a couple of standard visits to the Miriam P. Brenner Children's Museum, and they are always such a treat! It's so much fun to explore the exhibits without kids around and enjoy the playful, creative atmosphere. The museum was the first children's museum in the Triad and still features some of its original exhibits -- including the iconic big red chair, which is a total photo favorite! During regular hours, the museum is perfect for kids ages 0-12, with hands-on learning and interactive play spaces that spark curiosity and imagination. But my personal favorite -- the Neptune Climber XXL -- is definitely for all ages! It's an amazing structure that brings out everyone's inner child. I mean it is 2 stories high. The staff is friendly, the events are well-organized, and the museum continues to be a special part of Greensboro. Whether you're bringing little ones or attending an adult night, this place never fails to bring smiles and good memories.
