First time Yelp reviewer, and for a good reason. I was recently a dinner guest at the home of a…read morefriend where Chef J was cooking. It was the best in home private chef experience I've ever attended. The food was fantastic (the short ribs were the best I've ever had, the salmon caviar appetizer was incredible, and he served three small bites for dessert!). Everything he served was a conversation starter at our table. Truly a world-class dining experience. If I have one critique it's that Chef J is a little too soft-spoken. He's not going to blow you away with his presentation, but he more than makes up for that with his awesome cooking. After the meal I purposely found him to tell him how great the experience was, and he asked if I would write a Yelp review, and I gladly said yes. This is my first ever - hope you find it helpful! What an evening! What a dinner!…read more We were in from out of town and had rented an Airbnb house for the week of Christmas 2020. We kicked off our first evening there with a Birthday Party for our matriarch's 80th. We decided that having a professional Chef come to the house to prepare and serve us a restaurant quality dinner would make the evening so special and take the load off of us on our first night. Chef J was so accommodating and easy to communicate with regarding our desires and needs. He helped us in creating a pleasing menu that everyone raved about. He and his assistant, his lovely wife, were so friendly and professional. They cooked, served, did the dishes and cleaned up completely. We only had to be hungry, dine and enjoy the people around the table, which was the point. Yiayia enjoyed her birthday party so much that she is still talking about it and the incredible meal. The happy hour passed hors d' oeuvres started us off followed by a surf and turf of filets topped with Chef's special version of crab cakes and on a bed of the most delicious mushroom risotto! The sides and extras finished off the meal to perfection! We highly recommend hiring Chef J for your next special event. Keep it safe and keep it at home without sacrificing any luxury in your dining experience.

We chose a chicken dish and portabella mushrooms as our two entrees. We then had a beautiful salad and two vegetable sides for dinner. She also provided a beautiful charcuterie tray to start the night as well as infused water to accompany the meal. She arrived at the home early with her partner and set up the buffet. They were both friendly, professional and attentive to our needs. It was beautifully presented and kept fresh for the evening. At the end of the event, everything was left clean and sparkling in the home. I highly recommend Cheri for any event you choose to cater.
