I just want to say how wonderful this restaurant experience was for me and my son. The atmosphere was so peaceful, the food was delicious, and the server was so kind and helpful. I went on my birthday and had the most amazing time. They were very patient and accommodating of my 4 year old as well. The desserts were the highlight of my day, I'm a huge fan of baklava and kanafeh and it was so good. I must say my favorite thing I ordered was the drink! It was so refreshing. Lime, peach, and mint! Background: Originally from Houston, grew up making and eating Mediterranean food Ambience: Very clean, authentic incense burning smelled amazing, spacious, plenty of seating, suttle Turkish music playing, bright and cozy Service: 5 star service coming from a previous fine dining waitress. Greeted us at the door, great suggestions, anticipatory service. Food: Tried 3 appetizers (less than $2/piece) -(5/5) Crispy Spring Roll and Crispy Sambosk: very fresh, hot, and crispy. Filling in both was incredible. -(5/5) Crunchy Fried Cauliflower Nuggets: I have had fried cauliflower before but this tasted beautifully. Had a breading that reminded me of what comes on Mac & Cheese balls. Shredded cheese amped up the flavor. Try it! -(10/5) Fresh Lemon Mint Juice: INCREDIBLE!!! Made to order. Fresh, smooth, green mint, lime and water. Perfect balance between refreshing and sweet. Large drink, good bang for your buck. -(8/10)Falafel Wrap: Flavor was great, toasted pita and fresh veggies tasted wonderful in every bite. Wish it was warmer, that's the only reason why it didn't get a 10. Comparable to Cava's falafel, but had more authentic flavor and wasn't as dry as Cava's. -(6/10) Fattoush Salad: wasn't bad. You can tell everything is fresh on the salad. It had lots of great herbs, freshly fried pita strips, tomatoes were perfect. The dressing is on the sweeter side- comparable to a sweeter balsamic. We originally ordered the Tabbouleh salad since that's a favorite, but received this on accident. Good to try though! -(6/10) Beef Kabob with two sides Plate: The flavor was all the way there. Only reason I didn't give it a ten was because the meat was so tough. I am used to kebab being long shanks, but this meat was thick and cubed, which may have contributed to the dry, tough meat. The rice was perfect- authentic as hell. Veggies were made cost effectively, with peas, carrots, sautéed onions, and bell peppers. Sumac was added and it tasted really good. Dessert: - (9/10) Turkish Baklava: In all my years of trying baklava, I was very surprised that it was made fresh. It tasted warm, the outside was perfectly crunchy and the inside was smooth and sweet. The flavors of the pistachio filling and sweet light syrup tasted like heaven. My friend who had it for the first time was not a fan because of the texture, but from someone that has had it a lot, it's good. Overall: Will DEFINITELY come back. We are incredibly lucky to have this quality and flavor in Deep East Texas. When I come back, I am definitely getting myself a wrap, the appetizers we tried, and the lemon mint drink. I didn't feel heavy or fatigued after I ate, and after a few hours and reflecting back, I enjoyed the experience. Please support this business! I saw the good reviews and convinced my husband to make a detour from our day so that I could get some dessert to go. We walked in and there was no staff at the front. We waited for about 10 minutes but no one ever came out from the back. I tried to call the store phone (thinking maybe they were busy in the back) but there was no answer. We finally left after a few more minutes because no one ever came to the front. Keep in mind this was at 1pm on a Saturday. Super disappointed. read more

We were absolutely thrilled that this place was busy when we visited (around 3 in the afternoon), because we want it to stay in business for a LONG LONG time! Despite the number of customers - mostly take-out while we were there - we had our choice of tables, and the waitperson checked in on us regularly, refilled our drinks before we would need to ask, and kept us updated on how our order was going. And the food!!! We had the hummus, the lamb kabobs, the lamb kofta kabobs, the chicken tikka, both kinds of rice, and the green veggies, and enjoyed everything we got and were delighted to take portions of the generous servings home for later. We also had tahini dip, which was delicious - but our kabobs were exquisitely flavorful with or without it. Sooooooo good! I tried some of my table partner's lamb kofta, which is not usually something I like very much - but this was subtly different, with an aromatic flavoring of ... nutmeg? allspice? Well, something in that family. I loved it! My table partner was thrilled to see Turkish coffee on the menu, not something you usually find in this part of Texas; he ordered some at the end of the meal and especially pleased that it was authentically prepared. Not being a coffee drinker, I went for the crepe with chocolate and fruit, which was HUGE and DELICIOUS! Fresh blueberries on top with whipped topping, strawberries on the side, and what must have been a whole sliced banana inside along with thick yummy chocolate, plus chocolate sauce over the whole thing. I was glad my partner was willing to share! We also enjoyed the light jazzy music that played while we were there, as well as the brightly-colored wall decorations with exotic scenes. There are very few vegetable focused dishes and no sweet n low, Stevia, or any artificial sweeteners. If you are a diabetic avoiding huge amounts of meat or want anything to sweeten your beverages, make certain that you carry it with you. The people are friendly. Amazing cuisine! We were in town for a meeting and wanted something different for supper. I found this restaurant after a Google search and the menu sounded unique. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by our server. We picked out an appetizer of homemade stuffed grape leaves, entree of the Mixed Grill Plate (lamb Kofta, lamp kebab, chicken Tikka, grilled veggies, rice, and garlic dip), and finished the meal with Kunafa with mango. The grape leaves were the best we have ever had (Dallas area included), entree - my husband loved it all - I was not thrilled about the kebab texture.
