Some of the best service we had while dining in and among various Disney eateries. This is located inside of the Contemporary resort. You can get reservations or if you can't, like us, just show up at 7:30 am for breakfast and get seated pretty quickly. This breakfast guarantees that Mickey and Minnie characters walk out and great everyone every 10 mins and then top it off with a dance celebration. You can't go up and hug them yet but if your young ones want to get pics with the lovable iconic characters this is your most sure bet. When we were here we had Donald, Goofy and Pluto as well! The food was ok... it is served family style with a huge pot of waffles, eggs, bacon and sausage. They also provide banana bread French toast (I thought it was fantastic the rest of my family passed completely), cheesy potatoes, and a Mickey pancake. There was not much that was exceptional about the food, but the service was outstanding! Our waitress was the kindest lady, always helpful, talked and joked with our boys, was always diligent in her service... basically she would earn a 12 out of 10 if I could review just her! The whole experience was outstanding. My youngest was so happy and excited to see all that characters. He had already spent days yelling to them from the balcony outside our room and now he got to take pictures with them. It was nothing less then Magical!!! read more

5 stars for seeing the main Disney characters: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. They come by to your table at least 2-3 times during your dining experience. My girl was so sad not to get a pic of Minnie at Hollywood Studios and thankfully I found a last minute reservations on MDE at midnight for next day. I couldn't have been happier to see my girl and my wife be so happy seeing them. Well me too. You can't stand next to them or hug them. Just 6 feet apart. The server basically disappeared and didn't offer to do a family pic with them (I saw some waiters offer this service). Well the food was served family style and stuffed! Tons of eggs, bacon, pork and chicken sausages, loaded hash brown, banana bread like dish, Mickey waffles, bread basket with donut holes, delicious yogurt with chocolate chips, and the best part of the meal was their tender and very flavorful beef brisket. I was really surprised at how underrated this restaurant. Is it a little pricey? Yes but no... The buffet is HUGE and has so many options to choose from for every palette. We went for the breakfast buffet and the food was really good!! We had to take a couple trips to even try everything we wanted to try. It's a family-friendly environment and the staff is really nice and on top of everything you need. They offer a complimentary juice that was delicious and our son loved it! For the amount and the quality of food, I definitely feel like this is a step above your average buffet. For the price - you really get a lot for your money. Also, you're guaranteed to meet the 4 *main* Disney characters. Each character stops at every table and really takes their time with you. Taking countless pictures, interacting with the kids at the table.. in my opinion, it's worth it because you don't have to stand in long lines to meet each character and that frees up more time spent in the park to do other things. Missed a character??? A "character attendant" will stop by your table to make sure you met with all 4 of them! If you missed out on one, they'll make sure that character stops by before you leave. This was a cute experience but that is what I will call it. The staff is so kind and they are very much always making sure you got to see all of the characters (this time they had Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy Duck, as well as Pluto). It's certainly a happy place. The food is a bit overpriced, of course. They have lots of options, which is nice but the taste was just not there for me. It takes a month in advance to snag a reservation and even then it's still impossible to find one! So, is it worth it? Yes! I have only heard about Chef Mickey's. Never been. This was the first time that I dined there and it was during COVID. The experience was awesome. Unfortunately they didn't have characters come out but the staff were super kind and welcoming. They gave my son a pin to celebrate his birthday and let him take home a placemat. The food was all you can eat. They bring it to your table in huge portions. Once you finish something, you can ask for more. There was so much food for 1 adult and 1 child. I enjoyed the smoked salmon, the bacon and the pastries the best. We got to park at the resort for free since we had a reservation. At the end, we got to catch the shuttle to go to Epcot so we avoided a parking fee at the theme park. read more

While in Disney World with my family, we had made a reservation for noon at Chef Mickey's about a month to five weeks beforehand. I would definitely recommend making a reservation Chef Mickeys is located at the Disney Contemporary Resort and is very easy to find upon arrival. The monorail takes you directly there. We got there a little bit early and we had to wait a little bit. They have a professional, Photo pass Photographer standing there, so that's always a fun way to kill the time. The hostess greeted us, she escorted us to the back room. It looked like it was for the smaller kids celebrating a birthday or other special occasion. At first I got a little nervous because I saw the characters walking around and nobody came over to us for about a half hour. Our servers kept telling us not to worry and that they would make sure that every character came over. The characters in play are Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. Sadly... No Daisy. She must've had other plans. They dance, they come up to you, take photos with you, and interact with your kids and adults. They sign your autograph book if you have one. We got a chance to meet all of them. They were really patient as well. Took all the photos that we wanted, spent time with my son. He was in awe. They have a lot of options in their buffet, however, you are definitely not paying for the food. You are paying for the experience and getting to meet the characters. The food is not one of the meals you are going to remember after your trip, if you do it right. It's not terrible either, but it is a buffet. I would recommend this experience because it's a great way to meet all of the characters at once so you don't have to go chasing them down at the theme parks. You get to choose your food, of course, at the buffet. The server will bring over coffee, orange juice, water. They also brought my son a cute little cupcake at the end. Overall, not a bad experience at all the food was what I expected from a Disney buffet, but the character meet and greets were very rushed, and there was a lady following them around telling them to do certain things that you could tell they were not comfortable with. The place is very busy all the time and could use a refurbishment, but I would come back with my kids if they wanted to. read more

The character dining is the feature here at Chef Mickey's. My youngest enjoyed hanging out and taking pictures with the 5 characters (Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Donald and Goofy). The food was okay - it is buffet. You get a variety of Asian, Steak, Salads, American, dessert, fruits. The staff is nice. It is inside Contemporary Hotel, so an open space and you can see the Monorail come in every now and then. We had a good time here, but it is pretty expensive. 10 stars... seriously!!! This was a First time here for my daughters... I have been to Disney world 7 or so times. Never had a character dining experience...but this was fantastic!!! This experience made the trip!! The smiles on my girls faces and they talked about it every day of the trip... Makes my heart warm. We had a reservation and the app worked flawlessly. We got checked in and then headed to the host station. Seated quick and greeted quickly with a smile from Roger (Made the experience more magical really) He informed us about how the menu items work and took our drink order - I ordered a Bellini - so cheers- that was a great thirst quencher. Eggs, mickey pancakes, sausage, Mickey waffles, a fresh fruit platter, donuts/sweet rolls,cheesy potatoes,bacon, brisket, yogurt w granola. .. the brownie french toast was over the top!!!!. And because we had just celebrated our anniversary we got alcohol free frozen drinks and a couples cupcakes.... Yummo. I left full as my stomach allowed. The kitchen did a fantastic job! We understood the rules of safe distance and the character dining experience. Thankfully Roger kept our drinks on full and our platters filled as we ordered it. Come here for the Disney characters and not the food. The restaurant is busy, hectic, and even the character interactions are rushed. Not my favorite Disney character meal, but brought my grandson for his 2nd birthday dinner since it has the OG Disney Characters. The food items are limited and nothing memorable. Also found too many international dishes which limit even more of the dishes one may like. read more

We were able to snag a breakfast reservation for Chef Mickey's which located in the iconic Contemporary Resort. The interior of the restaurant looks like it was designed by the Mouse himself and very kid and family oriented joint. One of the main draws here is the guaranteed appearance of Mickey and friends. Our kids were in Heaven and had a blast with the characters. In regards to the food here you find standard breakfast buffet meals such as scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, full salad bar with meats and cheese. All the food was good but for the high prices per person I wish it a little bit more fresh. The best item were the Mickey waffles with warm syrup. This is a go-to for any first time in Disney World. This was the first restaurant we went to, and quite frankly a very satisfying and delicious introduction to the restaurants offered by Disney. Located in the Contemporary Resort which housed a few stores that were great to cruise around while our table was being ready, Chef Mickey's went to great lengths to ensure our dinner was an amazing experience. The buffet was excellent: we all tried the prime rib, (perfectly cooked, I might add), homemade mashed potatoes and turkey gravy, a salad bar, bacon and cheddar soup, the list goes on. To complete the meal, they also offered delicious desserts such as lemon/strawberry cake, chocolate cheesecake, and Minnie and Donald cupcakes. All of the house cocktails were well balanced and complimented our meals. They also included a guide of what foods were allergy friendly. If you were wondering, the meal and cocktails (I believe the other drinks were as well) were included in our dining plan, making the experience well-worth it. The characters also made appearances throughout the night, and we took memorable pictures as well as had a great time as a family. Around the restaurant, the kids who were there were having the time of their lives, dancing and interacting with the Disney mascots. The staff were also very friendly and ensured each character visited each table. They were very patient with our group, and were always checking up on us. Oof...I am completely conflicted in what to review this with. I have to say the character experience lived up to all of my expectations (minus the crazy line to get a pic with Mickey himself...which we skipped). Goofy and Donald were absolutely wonderful, Minnie was a dream, Pluto made the kids laugh. The price is obscene. $260 for 2 adults, 2 kids and 2 bloody Mary's. We are not big people, we don't eat a ton, so we expected at least quality, right? They had capers, lox and NO BAGELS OR CREAM CHEESE?! An absolute tragedy. I would have given one more star if it weren't for that mistake. The cheesy potatoes were good, fruit and cheese were as they should be, bacon was a bit limp for my liking and stuck together in giant hunks, biscuits and gravy tasted pretty salty and bland at the same time, I had to push and shove to even see the Mickey waffles (no joke). BUT, my kids did love it. Will I do it again? Probably, if they beg enough...because I'm a sucker. read more

If you have dietary concerns there is a variety of choices to fulfill the needs of the guest. The hostesses were extremely friendly and nice. Made you feel welcomed. We went to Chef Mickeys on our rest day from the parks and had a great experience. Definitely make sure to book ahead of time because I don't think you can just walk in. The breakfast food was delicious, it is all brought to your table and you can get more servings if you need. The only downside is a lot of food is wasted through this way. We are wayyy too much, but it was tasty and had a bit for all of us to enjoy. A little pricey, but a fun character experience! Kids under 3 are free which is a plus! read more

The food was typical buffet fare, but who's kidding? Did we come for the food? NO! The kids could barely listen to the server because Goofy was in the room already. The madness had started before we'd even gotten our food. The characters kept coming and coming. Each took copious amounts of pictures and gave loads of hugs before moving to the next table in a set pattern. Just as we would get ready to get food, another character would show up! The characters come out to you every 15 minutes and go to your table take pictures and joke around. Food buffet was absolutely awful. Everything was cold, slimy. How hard is it to keep the butter chicken warm and simmering ? Why are you serving raw beef ? Absolutely almost no one orders rare beef at restaurants except for cannibals and adventurists. When I asked for medium there was a 10 minute wait beacuse they had a tiny pan for such requests. Why not just cook it medium in the first place ? Basically the food tasted worse than a college dining hall, but more than $65 per person, I would expect a little more effort. Food and ambiance were excellent. I particularly appreciated the large selection that included ham and roast beef, tho a breakdfast faee. The Mickey/Minnie cupcakes were tasty , as well as, cute. All ages seemed to enjoy the quality, efficient servers; as well as, the fun Disney charactsrs. However, I saw no benefit in standing in line to visit Minnie, when she could have also joined the other characters as they visited with guests. The cost was a bit too much, but I assume all costs have increased in this National economic situation. I would t recommend paying xtra for special drinks. They looked inviting and tasted fine, but too much for children, as many nearly full drinks were left behind at tables. If you're staying at the Contemporary hotel with kids, I highly recommend going there on an off day. We've been to a number of character meals, including in California. I think this is my second favorite one. The food, service and ambiance are all very good. When we checked in with a reservation, the hostess pleasantly explained that they were running about 15 minutes late. This was very much appreciated after our Steak House 71 experience the previous night. The only real negative part was the gave us so much food, we were only able to eat about half of it for Brunch. read more

When arriving to the contemporary we checked in and walked around for a bit before finally sitting down. From the time we check in to the time we got seated we waited 40 mins! We came hungry knowing that we were going to be served a lot of food, but at a 12:05 spot? We gotta seated after the restaurant closed. It was kind of ridiculous, but it's a bucket list restaurant for me being a Disney fan, so I guess I can't complain. The saving grace of all of this was our waitress Etha, she was so knowledgeable and was very helpful when we told her that I was a vegetarian. All the characters were in the room we were seated at and didn't come up to us at all, we finished our meal and asked since they were closed would they come back around and she said she would see what she could do. In a matter of 5 minutes every character came over to us to say hii! It was an amazing experience and a great conversation with her. The food was good, we loved the waffles and banana bread French toast. It's definitely just banana bread and not French toast, but we enjoyed it. My boyfriend mentioned the sausage was not that good and was not warm, including the eggs being unseasoned. The potato casserole was out of this world, I got a serving without bacon and it was delicious! Overall, I think this is a top spot if you have kids otherwise I'd say to pass due to the price and food being just ok. read more

Chef Mickey's was one of the best experiences on our last trip to Orlando. A lot of the cost of the meal goes to the character experience, but is well worth it as each of the Fab Five (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto) rotate from table to table taking pictures. The food is great quality and so is the staff. They were all on point and attentive on a busy day. I would recommend to book a table in advance as the experience is in high demand on a regular basis. As of today, the food is brought to the table, where as before the pandemic it was more of a buffet style. I believe the idea is that it will return to buffet in the future but that is TBD. I would 100% do this again (provided my kids are into it still) as it was very memorable for them and they had a blast, as did my wife and I. read more

Went to the character breakfast this morning with our group here on vacation. Good was your standard hotel buffet breakfast items, nothing really stood out in my opinion. Oh the mickeys juice was pretty tasty. You got to see the four main characters and such. What we've noticed on this trip is that they haven't fully embraced this magic band experience park wide. I'll admit we have a larger group (12 people) and we typically wouldn't be on one bill if possible. Every place we've been together they never ask about magic bands and want us to pay cash or card. Haven't they designed this system for things to be easier? It's been kind of annoying in my opinion. Breakfast was average and seemed overpriced, even by Disney expectations. read more

Servers serve you via course- starters: yogurt, fruit, pastries (doughnuts and cinnamon roll were yummy). Kids get their own pancakes. A skillet full off different items come out, along with the loaded cheese potato- again delicious. Then there's the banana bread. Yes everything is included! We did add on smoothies for the kids to share. As well as parents drinks, a Bloody Mary and a beer. Loved the Bloody Mary- it had olives, cheese, and bacon! As for the characters. They do their rounds and do a dance. The best part is, how much the kids enjoyed it. No long wait for pictures at the park. You get what you pay for. And I'm beyond happy with our experience. Pricing why, it's on the top end of the list, 50 dollars and adult, for an all you can eat buffet. We did the breakfast, I will say they had a ton of food, nothing was ever empty and it tasted pretty good. It was busy as usual, the characters come around and visit you which is cool. I would give 10 stars if I could!! We went last night and full character visits are back!!! That means they come to your table and can hug and sign autographs. When I booked a month ago it was still 6 feet apart and you can take selfie with them. The characters are really the best!! My 2.5 year old daughter couldn't contain her excitement and we had to prevent her from running to the characters! Goofy and mickery were her favorite and they spent extra time with her and we got awesome pictures! We saw all of the characters at least twice while we were there. It really was magical! I recommend going early as there's alot of shops and you can see the monorail that comes inside the hotel! We had a late reservation 8:55 so it was late by the time we were done and things were closed. The food is good. It's normally a buffett but it's family style so they give you everything and you can ask for more. We really loved the prime rib and asked for 3rds! For kids they give them a plate of chicken tenders, mac and cheese, mini corn dogs, tater tots and broccoli. My daughter is 2 and she was free which is amazing!! read more

Lacking. Chef Mickey's doesn't equate to other character dining options you may be accustomed to within Disney world. The check-in experience at every other popular Mickey character dining has a character photo before your meal. Here you take a picture with a big plate. Huge let down. The $60+ you spend for dinner is for the experience, so you expect less in the food options department. Problem is, CM was a miss even with the limited food options. Maybe it was just this night, but the buffet was a mess. Limited adult food options, carving station was meh. The corn dog nuggets were a hit... Lastly, the character experience. What you pay big money for. One huge letdown was there was no option for photopass type professional photog with the characters. It was all on your phone. Every trip, whether it's aulani, Disneyland or wdw, we pay a premium to not have to worry about lugging our phones around and let the photo pass cast members do their thing. It wasn't even an option. The monorail thru the restaurant saved this from a 1-star review. I feel with a few changes, the experience can change dramatically. read more

It had been a long time since we dined at Chef Mickeys. We don't make it part of the itinerary every Disney trip because it's expensive and kind of a one and done type experience for us. Our youngest is four and we just brought him for the first time. He loved it. The breakfast options were great and I felt as though there is something there for everyone. I had a peach Bellini which was also very good, if you haven't been to Chef Mickeys I highly recommend giving it a shot.
