However, they did recently fix it up a bit, got rid of some of the clutter and added a table with two chairs (see picture). Food: The rolls are great as is the other food I have tried. I just realized that she makes dosas and idlies, so I plan on making a point of trying them the next time I am in the area. Oh, and as you would expect, everything is made from scratch! The whole experience was really amazing, from the greeting to the cooking to the eventual eating of the finished meal. I was back and forth with the owner, Dan, who was very accommodating and willing to work with a larger number of people than originally planned. The place is a really charming and kitschy small catering space which looks like it could be your friend's apartment. The set up was impressive. Although a smaller space. Dan worked well to change the space around to make room for different situations. For instance, when we came in, there was a buffet of goodies set up to snack on while we caught up and enjoyed some homemade granola and yogurt, as well as various spreads and homemade bread. Then, when we switched over to the demo and cooking class, there was a giant movable table we all stood around to get instructions and prepare food. Eventually, when we sat down for our meal of freshly made fare, Dan moved over two more tables to create a long communal table we could all sit at and enjoy our creations. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was amazing and Dan and his staff were also amazing. There are few places in the city which provide this kind of interactive cooking experience. I looked into it, trust me! I would highly recommend this place for any kind of small private event i.e. a birthday, a bachelor/ette party etc. I cannot wait to come back and simply eat here for Sunday brunch. The crispy gnocchi were coated in cheese curds and smothered in braised veal. What a combination. The gnocchi were not heavy, like others I've tried. They were lighter and absolutely deep fry-able. The veal melted in your mouth. Instead of gravy the jus from the veal did the trick. If you told me I'd be eating a gnocchi poutine last week, I would've said you were crazy. I saw they had 6 selections, which included a couple kinds of poutine (osco busco was one of them), bacon mac n cheese and sundaes. I decided to get the Bacon Mac N Cheese for $10 as I just had poutine earlier in the day. This was one of the best Mac N Cheese's I've ever had. The pasta seemed like it was hand made, the bacon was flavourful and the cheese, OMG!. This was not your normal cheddar cheese. I think it was Parmesan and it melted so perfectly. I have to say, this is one of the few food trucks I felt I got my money's worth. Verdict:: If I see them again, I will definitely give them another go and hopefully let me ride the bandwagon.

She was preparing for the day but took the time to tell us about the plant-based food that she makes. If you have any questions I'm sure she'd be happy to answer them. While telling us about the food she has she gave us a samosa to sample. It was on the spicy side for us but tasty nonetheless. Chic Peas Veg has such a broad menu. They have smoothies, soups, wraps, buddha bowls/salads, baked goods (muffins, scones, baked donuts, etc), snacks (samosas, patties), drinks (pure coconut water, organic cold-pressed juices, etc) and of course hot dishes of stews that come with teff and barley injera (a fermented flatbread) or turmeric basmati rice and veggies/salad. Naza also told us that the food containers she uses are made from plants and biodegradable. Be sure to put them in the compost when you're finished the food. Be sure to ask which stews they have since it changes weekly. We got a meal with injera, three stews (eggplant, chickpea, plant-based meat), and salad. I suppose if you're really hungry one person could finish this by themselves but we ended up splitting this among three people. We were slightly concerned that the stews would be too spicy for us but they weren't spicy and extremely flavourful.
