I managed to sell myself on the idea that perhaps this was a hidden gem, and I really wanted to find something decent to eat in this barren region. However, the tofu with spicy szechuan sauce that I ordered was not spicy at all, and had a sweet and slightly off taste. I have no trouble finding better sauces in the nice Asian markets of Brisbane to cook with for myself. The vegetables were dubiously selected. The price of adding rice on top was, even by Australian standards, outrageous. Being on vacation, I went for the fried ice cream, which had a vaguely orange-y breading that was mildly interesting but not remotely worth the rest of the experience.
Nothing wrong with the service, mind you, but the food was poor enough that at the end of it my main thought was just take my money and let me go. read more
