The food is really interesting and flavorful, and they had a good choice of menu items for all folks in our party, including gluten-free and dairy free. The food came out pretty promptly, but like restaurants like this, the food may come out at different times at your table. Our party really loved the Pad Junk, the Mixed Greens, the Tempura Zucchini, and Edamame. Parking can be a pain if it's busy on Ocean Street. The ambience is really fun and the service is good. We would definitely return again!

Well, 15 minutes later the place was full so they must be doing something right. Our service was fast and pleasant. The meals were good portions: one main per person, whether shared or eaten individually will more than fill all but the biggest eater. The food was good, without being exceptional. I was disappointed with the roast duck curry -- some of the duck pieces were fatty under the skin -- but the fat rice noodles our son ordered were a surprise standout!

This place was humming with activity when my husband, my mom and I walked by, and we decided to give it a go. We ordered the Seafood Chili Basil, the Pad Kingh, and some jasmine rice for all three of us to share. Let me just say, big mistake. The portions are huge. Like...American size huge. The dishes were all fresh and varied, but tended to be a little less flavorful than we would have liked. Regardless, the ambiance and service were both pleasing, and the pricing was pretty consistent with everything else around the region.

Most of the town was closed up but Hop & Vine on the second level of a centrally located spot on Hastings St happily served us. I had the vegetarian fried rice (yummy fresh scallions, Chinese veggies, mushrooms, peas) and partner had two buns and the tuna steak with salad. Portions were just right. Server also seemed to be the owner/manager and talked our ears off about some random topics (AMEX business fees, nature walks in the area, the last few places he vacationed abroad). Nice space and ambiance. Looked like an extensive wine list, good craft beer on draft.

Started with the fig salad, which was fantastic. The nutty bread that came with it was surprisingly impossible not to eat and all the flavors came together well. Had a sand crab as my main. The accompanying greens were also nice, with apple and walnuts giving it some layers. Overall, truly enjoyed this meal.

The Food: It was 'eh' at best but was priced like it had a Michelin star... a bit ridiculous. We had a starter a tempura something, which was good because let's be honest add tempura and you can't go wrong. For mains we had a seafood pasta (I'll put up a picture too) it looks amazing but the pasta was overcooked and ended up congealing into one pasta lump, the seafood was okay but not really cooked well, or rather way over cooked. They even gave me a mussel that didn't open, so you couldn't eat it, I'm paying for protein but I couldn't even eat it?!?! Anyway I'd say, while the view is stunning you would do well to go somewhere with better food and just walk on the beach for the view.

Service was efficient without being obtrusive from the moment we entered until the time we left two hours later. We started by sharing a couple of entrees, the pork belly which was served with a quince sauce, and the porcini and béarnaise croquettes which matched perfectly with the capers served with them. We followed with a couple of pizzas, the ham, mushroom, olive and red onion for me and the hot salami for Liz - we were warned that the salami one was hot but the balance was perfect, just a slight chilli aftertaste that did not leave a burning sensation in the mouth. We only ate half the pizzas (they boxed up the rest and we'll have them for supper tonight) as we wanted to make sure we had room for dessert. And what beautiful desserts they were! I had the limoncello pannacotta whilst Liz had the tiramisu - the menu suggested that the tiramisu was deconstructed, but the waitress made sure we knew that before accepting the order - and both desserts were absolutely heavenly. We finished up with a glass of limoncello each and an espresso, and walked out very well satisfied clutching our pizza box for supper. Cost? Our food cost $92 and we spent another $80 on drinks - which we felt was well worth it.
