Chef Gina made a cake for our family get together and we were absolutely blown away. The cake was an incredible banana walnut cake with rich pistachio filling, it had a delicious white buttercream icing with stunning floral details. Everyone was so impressed with both how delicious and beautiful the cake was. We all wanted second servings and a few days out we are all still talking about the cake in our family chats! Gina was also very helpful in the design process and made the whole experience so straightforward and stress-free. We have found our bakeshop in Ohio and I cannot wait to get another Chef Gina cake.

Absolutely Amazing! I contacted Gina to make desserts for a wedding rehearsal dinner. Gina was a delight to work with, being so very accommodating with the special decorating designs and changes to the original order. I sent a picture of the wedding invitation and she nailed the design on all the cookies. Everything was ready and waiting for us at the scheduled pick-up time. Chef Gina has rebranded as Chef Gina's Bakeshop, and I am so happy for her! I want to give a tremendous shoutout to Chef Gina for absolutely nailing the wedding cake for my BFF's wedding. Coincidentally enough, the cake also went viral on TikTok! Not only was the cake Gina made beautiful, but it tasted wonderful, and even included a surprise detailing of my friends' two mischievous dogs. I knew when I recommended Chef Gina to her, she wouldn't disappoint, and boy, was I right! The bride was so pleased with the process AND it was by far the best cake I've ever tasted at a wedding. Gina made the cake for our May 2022 wedding and it turned out absolutely beautiful! I provided Gina with a couple of pictures of cakes we liked and left most of the artistry up to her as we knew we wanted flowers and this is an area of expertise for her! Not only was our cake more beautiful than I could've imagined, but it was delicious! We went with carrot cake and cream cheese filling as well as white cake and buttercream frosting, and received so many compliments on how good the cake tasted! Gina was so easy to work with, sending quick responses to both emails and text message, and coordinated with our venue for delivery. Her prices were also very reasonable compared to others in the area. I would highly recommend using Gina for your wedding cake and am looking forward to trying more of her creative deserts for future celebrations! read more

I was sooo lucky to find Gina! She offers such a wide variety of options, and all of them taste as good as they look. My guests were so impressed by her shooters and tarts. Our wedding cake was gourgous and perfectly on theme. I tried so many bakeries before I found Gina, as I live in Columbus. Went through Chef Gina for our wedding cake and sheet cakes for our reception. Numerous guests and I required a gluten free diet, something Gina provided. Gluten free cake is difficult, but these cakes were great! All of them were moist, flavorful, and decorated gorgeously! The wedding guests were complimenting the cake all night. Beyond that, Gina was very helpful and communicative in deciding what options were best for us based on our number of guests. 10/10 would recommend! read more

History

Established in 2018.

Gina Giampietro started baking at a young age with her grandfather. Waking up in the morning to the smell of his freshly baked cinnamon rolls lit a spark in her. She loved the joy that food brought to people. It was then that her passion for pastries started to grow and she knew that this is what she wanted to do. After high school, Gina moved to Hyde Park, NY to attend The Culinary Institute of America and earned a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts Management. At the CIA, she gained knowledge and technique in all areas of pastries. Since culinary school, she has worked in a variety of bakeries focusing on breads, pastries, plated desserts, cakes and confections.

Paleteria La Fresa also has a rotating stock of homemade popsicles in familiar and unique flavors, from strawberry to avocado to Mexican custard! My Yelp friend who joined me for dinner and dessert there a few days ago has tried at least a dozen flavors - her favorite is avocado. This was my first visit to this restaurant and spent some time looking at the pantry stuff for sale (didn't get anything) and debating which flavor of popsicle to get for my first visit here, before ordering two Mexican street tacos and one carne asada sopes for dinner. My meal also came with unlimited chips and salsa which we immediately demolished! Ultimately, I chose to get the Mexican cake popsicle flavor which was so smooth and creamy and milky and then crunchy with Mexican chocolate slabs inside! It was very refreshing, unique, and not very expensive at 3 bucks. My tacos were saved for later (and tasted delicious a couple hours later at home) but I ate the sopes at the restaurant. It was generously piled with carne asada and the corn pancake was 1000/10! I will absolutely order sopes again! For $16.50, I had a lot of food, a nice treat, and great company. I plan to come again!

Gina was a dream to work with on our wedding day! She was very responsive when it came to communicating, even speaking with me over the phone to ease my mind when asked!
