The funny thing is that we wanted Italian food but all of those places were closed and our only good option was this place. Although we really enjoyed the Italian cuisine in Cortona, we're so glad we found this place. The server was very accommodating to my wife's soy allergy and made sure it wasn't in any of the food, especially the mayo as it often is. This place makes their own tasty mayo. Most burger places have either a great hamburger and okay fries or great fries and an okay burger. But it's very rare to find the perfect combo like here. We know it sounds crazy but if you're an American and accustomed to good burgers, give this place a try. You might be surprised that it's the best you've ever had! They charge you €2 per person for the silverware, then charge you €0.50 for a spoon full of ketchup. We each had a container of fries to go with our sandwiches, so one small thing of ketchup was not nearly enough. Obviously, we ordered more, hoping they'd bring us a ketchup bottle. Nope, because they were charging for the ketchup, we didn't see that till the bill came. My daughter had the cheeseburger. According to her, she has never eaten such a dry, crunchy burger in her life. Obviously, she didn't finish because it was hard to get down. As for me, I tried the recommendation of the tour guide. Big mistake! The classic Florentine sandwich, the Lampredotto. I should've known better, but I'm willing to try anything once. It was a chew, tasteless, slimy sandwich. You can't eat it like a sandwich because it's so wet and soggy that it falls apart. You need a knife and fork. You needed the ketchup that they gave up by the spoonful, and still, it was tasteless. This is not a place I recommend to anyone. If you're used to eating juicy burgers, this is not the place for you.

Since every aspect of the trip was timed, we were forewarned that it would be busy and that we would only have a small amount of time to use the restroom. The line for sandwiches was extremely long, so we decided to order a cappuccino and a cornetto al pistacchio. The ordering process was efficient. The cappuccino was the longest wait, but it wasn't too bad. Unbelievably, we were able to do everything and return to the bus on time On the way back to Rome, we visited this location a second time for rest stop purposes. The ambiance of this rest stop was pretty much on par with the rest stops found in many states in America.

Not like America, their rest stop here is not hold by the fast food place. They have good restaurant cook to your order Italian way fast food. I got the pork knuckle and the seafood pasta. It was delicious. The knuckle has good marinate. The seafood pasta was wonderful. It is amazing they have good food. Not only that, each dish less than 10 Euro. The rest area has gas station, convenient store, souvenir, cafe with sandwich. Plenty to get in a rest stop. Please remember, most rest stop has one way in and other way exit. That how they catch all customers on the exit. Restroom usually downstairs. The cafe shop usually has a lot people getting a sip.

My wife and I are always intrigued by McDonald's in other countries (we come from the United States) because there's always some unique or different from it compared to our McDonald's we have back in the U.S. What really stood out to us was the macaroons. 1 for .90 Euro or 6 for 4.50 Euro. We honestly weren't expecting much because come on, it's McDonald's and it's not going to be amazing it'll probably just be okay. Wrong!!! We were so wrong. We ordered two macaroons, mixed fruit and a pastchio and we were amazed. These were just as good as the expensive, fancy, well-known places that you'll get your macaroons. So afte we had these two, we had to order 6 more for 4.50 Euro. So do yourself a favor and just order 6 in the beginning and save. The customer service was friendly. This location is different in that way that it offers a few other eateries since we are on the huge car and truck gas station facility. That also means you can find all the other knick knacks and other little things and gadgets that you need because you forgot to take them with you from home. Books, DVDs, phone chargers, and the like present themselves to you in an almost trashy form. But hey, I'm off track and not really rating the McDonald's anymore.
