Dry pot beef small portion. A bit pricey for $15
Joyce T.

Lunch special, shrimps with lobster sauce and fried rice $9 for a big portion. Nice. Dry pot beef, I opt for less spicy, small portion for $15, glad it's delicious.

Chicken, shrimp and brococoli lunch special
Ebone' W.

I stopped here quickly before catching my flight and took advantage of a lunch special. I got wonton soup and shrimp/ chicken with brococoli and fried rice. Soup didn't come with the lunch special, so don't expect it, and it wasn't worth the additional purchase. Just 2 little wontons in broth, no onions, no taste, no nothing. Very blah. The brococoli dish was good, but drowning in brown sauce which made it salty as I don't know what! I got a separate plate in an attempt to remove some of the sauce, but still left with a headache. Mercy! Overall decent, but I'd try something else next time.

Peking duck
Emy A.

We ordered takeout to celebrate for a birthday. The food was okay. We ordered several dishes and only got 2 scoops of rice. The mapo tofu was bitter and spicy. The Peking duck was just okay.

1/2 a flat bowl of 1-2 day old "hot and sour" packet made soup...

ABSOLUTELY ZERO - never order and never order as delivery from favor. $1 worth of noodles, and no it's NOT chow mein that's linguine honey, are y'all even trained in cooking authentically? Stuffed disgusting looking, zero flavor, over-priced spring rolls with a 1" piece of shrimp for $5 and then a "lunch special" with linguine and jalapeños, 2 carrots, a couple green beans, 1 small bite of each chicken and shrimp ZERO BEEF, and half a flat container of 2 day old packet made hot and sour soup... and charged DINNER PRICES over advertised lunch prices ... wow Y'all really did yourself in here

Shredded pork with bamboo shoots Chicken and broccoli Fried rice
Aubrey M.

The food was delicious! We tried the shredded pork with bamboo shoots and the chicken and broccoli. The portions were very big, full of meat and vegetables. Make sure to order a side of rice to soak up the sauce. The service was fast and the food was out very quickly. The ambiance was very chill, quiet on a Friday night. Will definitely come back soon!

Sesame chicken

Food was delicious! Big portions and they brought it out fast! Nice little restaurant, I love that the big tables have lazy Susan's in the middle of them, would be a great place to go as a group!

Scallops in black bean sauce, they always give lots of rice with the lunch

Food was fair at best. Hoisin sauce for moo shoo was watered down. I've had better, even in Texas. Pass!

Came here with my coworkers. I've been here several times, but I haven't been here in over 2 years…read moreso I was nervous that it'd be drastically different because I loved this place. They did change the menu a bit, but it had what I exactly wanted. We ordered the Szechuan Mala Spicy Rice Noodle Bowl w/ Beef Slices, Popcorn Chicken, Shrimp Tempura, and Xiao Long Bao. The noodle bowl is the best. Tons of flavor and ingredients with the vermicelli noodles are just amazing. The popcorn chicken is delicious, nothing special. The shrimp tempura is delicious and has an amazing crunch. The Xiao Long Bao is more of a soup dumpling dim sum style. It was pretty delicious, but it didn't taste really fresh like you'd get from an actual dim sum restaurant. The staff are friendly and fast. Lots of tables to dine at. Parking lot is a bit small, but you can park on the other side of the buildings where there are more parking.

TLDR: food quality went downhill after the renovations; would not recommend anymore…read more It breaks my heart to give Shun de Mom so low of a review. Last year in Spring 2023 (before the semester-long renovations), Shun de Mom was my favorite eatery in CSTAT. I ate here at least 2-3 times/month. However, they're not the same anymore (maybe a different management staff?). For starters, they changed their menu and removed the Thailand Chicken (my favorite dish) along with raising their prices slightly. More importantly, they changed the sauces so "saucy" dishes (like the Orange Chicken) just did not taste good. The chicken lo mein had very little flavor and the noodles seemed "rubbery" for some reason. Lastly, the salt and pepper pork ribs looked exceedingly deep-fried and I'm fairly sure had MSG on them. The only semi-decent dish was the chicken fried rice. So if you're hankering for chicken-fried rice within walking distance of campus, then this is your place. One positive is the servers were exceedingly friendly and the food came out fairly quickly (~10 minutes). The chairs are metal and neither comfortable nor uncomfortable.

The place doesn't display their food like the pictures. You can't really tell what you're…read moreordering. They don't even have pictures of the food up. We walked in, tried to go over the menu, couldn't find descriptions, and we jetted. Can't say we'd go back now. Waste of time.....
