CHEER OMEGA IS #CHAMILY! That is CHEER and FAMILY! When you spend most of your days at the gym, or traveling for competitions, the coaches, parents, siblings, cheerleaders, and even their extended family members, become your family members.
We have come from a place where my daughter was barely able to do a walkover to now having experienced two years at Summit!! We started our cheer life with another company. They had kind coaches, a brand name, and we had never experienced anything else, so we did not know what we did not know. What we did not know is that cheer is so much MORE than that!! We followed another family over for a free tumble class, and we realized, right away, what we were missing!
I love that the owners and coaches have an open door policy. They have no problem speaking with you face to face, or answering any and all questions. In the beginning I had many questions and they were all answered. Sure the coaches are usually coaching, but they respond to emails if you need to speak to them A.S.A.P. Other parents are also very welcoming. I have heard so many stories where parents at other gyms are afraid to speak to anyone because they feel unwelcome or worse. They do not tolerate that at Omega, and because of that, those who insist on treating others unfairly do not last in this family atmosphere.
My daughter has never been very strong, and she was always so shy. At the start of our first season at Omega, she was in the back, and she was learning a position she had never even tried before. Eventually, they taught her to shine, and she had more untapped potential than any of us ever realized. I was shocked by how quickly she learned new skills and they readily pulled her out of her shell. By the day of showcase, I barely recognized my own daughter. She eventually made it out of the back, and I could not believe my eyes.
The next season she moved up a level, and the season after that, she moved up again. It is fun to look back each season and see how much she has grown in her skillset.
One of the most amazing things my family has to thank Omega for is the way they accept every athlete, even those who have never cheered a day in their lives!! My son was always sitting around, waiting on his sister. He finally tried a tumble class, then he made a team. His coaches had very little to work with, considering his lack of strength, agility, and flexibility. All they had was his overwhelming personality, at first. In the end, he made it to the D1 Summit his very first year of cheer. This has resulted in a confidence boost I could never repay them for.
Another thing my kids have to look forward to, are the many opportunities Omega offers young athletes. They often have opportunities for teens to help assist the VERY well certified coaches and learn to coach, helping improve their college resumes and expand their abilities even further.
The coaches saw something in my kids. Maybe (as I am sure most parents feel) it was something that was always there, but I am certain that without coaches who pushed them and expected the best from them, they would have given up when the going got tough. They would never have made the improvements, metally, physically, or emotionally, I have seen in them. They are both unique, with their own individual strengths, as well as weaknesses, but, as I mentioned when I began this review, we are CHAMILY! As is the case with any family, no one person is without imperfections, but together we are unstoppable! Thank you Omega, for pulling out our best, refusing to allow us to give up and say we are unworthy, and never giving up on us! I literally cannot wait to see where we will be tomorrow! read more
