There was no offer to play the record another way, no attempt to help, and no effort to make the sale. I felt like I was inconveniencing him simply by asking a perfectly reasonable question. I ended up getting a great deal on a nice mid-century dining table that was missing a foot. He offered to find me a new foot, and went above and beyond to help me get it to my apartment. We've also been in touch via email, and he offered to alert me when he gets in new stuff that I'm on the look out for in my price range and style. Like, if I were back home in the city, this stuff would by 5x as much and I'd pay through the nose to rent a van to get the furniture back to my house, and no one would care that I want a mid-century bedside table with a drawer in walnut. The store is clean, well-organized, and doesn't have the dusty, oppressive, overwhelming, hoarder den, imposible-to-navigate feel of other antique shops. A must- go if you like beautiful old stuff and attentive customer service.

The problem was, I didn't quite have the money to pay for it. Not only did he give me a discount, but he let me put a down payment on it, and I came back in a week to pick it up, and he had it all wrapped up for me to take home! Wonderful customer service, and great pieces. I will be back.
