Frontier Towing and Recovery

"We Shoot You Straight"…read more On Thursday Sept 1, 2022 around 10/11pm ET Frontier Towing and Recovery was contacted by Car-Mart to repossess my daughter's car (owned and paid for by her mother) in Rome, GA. On Saturday the 3rd I took possession of the car from her mother and traveled to the Car-Mart Rome, GA location to get her car back to my daughter. The manager of the Car-Mart was helpful, she explained that the car was having a hard time starting and appeared to have a dead battery. I thought that was odd knowing that my daughter had drove it on Thursday so after several minutes and two different boost packs so I asked if I could look at it. Upon inspection I found that the ground cable was off the battery. I put the battery cable on and the alarm went off. After securing the battery cable I asked my other daughter to pull the car out of their gate because they parked it right next to another car. At this point I noticed that the drivers side fender had a fresh dent and crease in it. So my daughter starts the car up and I walk back into the store to give the manager her jump pack back. While we were talking about the situation my daughter walks in and says that the car will not go into gear. I walk back to the car and sure enough the shifter moved to each gear and neutral but the transmission would not shift from park. After jumping through many hoops I was finally told by Car-Mart that Frontier was the company that was contracted to pick up the car. So I call and a representative answered the phone. While explaining that the car had a dented fender and the transmission wasn't shifting I was put on hold. This whole time my other car was running so every once in a while my car's Bluetooth would interrupt our conversation. When the line picked up it was the owner Greg. Greg explained that while in the process of recovering the vehicle the towing tech advised the owner that he couldn't get the car to shift out of park. The owner Greg stated that the shift lock system on the car would not work so the tech had to break the cable. I then asked Greg how he planned on fixing this issues that he just admitted his employee created. "Nothing, what do you want me to do about it?" he said. I explained that I was over an hour and a half away from home and that I needed him to either send someone to fix it or tow it to my house. He chuckled and said he wasn't going to do either one and I asked why is that he said he has a hold harmless agreement with Car-Mart. I explained to him that I was not going to accept this and that he needed to make it right. He said he had a mechanic on the way to fix another vehicle on the car lot. I thanked him for that and we waited. Once the mechanic finished his repair on the other car he looked at the car and said " Yup, its broke." I asked if he could fix it, his reply was that he wasn't told to fix it by his boss. Then he proceeded to explain to me that sometimes when cars are pulled out of parking spaces this happens. I let him know that his boss admitted that the tow tech broke it because he "couldn't get the shift lock to work" and he said yeah its hard to get them to work sometimes... So here we are, 1.5 hours from home with a broke vehicle that the towing company broke and neither them nor Car-Mart were taking responsibility for it. I tried to call Frontier back numerous times to get them to tow it to my house, but their 24/7 number would always go to Voice Mail which was full. I don't expect Greg to make this right, I just want others to know if you deal with either Frontier Towing and Recovery or Frontier Auto Sales that you're not going to get treated like you should. It's apparent that Greg is not a man of his word.
