"Care" like this should be criminal. Where do I start?…read more 1) Dr. Lola at Silver Spring Gastroenterology likes to charge $330 for a 10-minute Zoom appt (one I was forced to have as a "pre-op consult" with info that could have easily been emailed). When I questioned this, because it had to be a mistake, and then tried to get this brought down to something reasonable, I was denied. Disgusting. 2) She also likes to ask, "Well, what do you think we should do?" I'm not the doctor! Why am I paying YOU? She does not read the chart beforehand (neither does the office, as they triage you and take your vitals and then ten minutes in, ask, "What's your name again?") I came for you to fix me, not for you to ask my opinion on what kind of care path I want to take. I want the one that frickin' fixes me. 3) After spending thousands of dollars, at my post-op follow up, it was suggested I take a $7 supplement to fix my issue. After over a year of visits and thousands of dollars. I would have laughed if I didn't want to cry. Why was this not suggested first?? 4) But never fear- she prescribed something, too. Imagine my surprise when my pharmacy called me and asked when I got on high-cholesterol medication....because that ISN'T what I have. She sent in medication for a condition I did not have. 5) The office quoted me a $0 estimate for my procedure. I currently received my third different bill for a total of $2000 for that very procedure. Again, would laugh if I didn't spend so much time crying. This entire company, system, and country is broken. When I see a b.s. MedStar commercial or magazine cover purporting that their mission is to help people, I want to set things on fire. Corrupt. Uncaring. Unethical. THIS is MedStar. Stay away. I know at this point I will take my chances with my health, because I simply cannot afford to spend this much money on crap care.

Not the same since the practice changed. Front desk staff can be quite rude. Doctors hardly spend…read moreany time with you and come off as uncaring. It's definitely just about the money now not the patients. It's really very sad. Go to an urgent care center. You'll be treated better.

Diamond will hang up on you for asking her name and the whole office will cover saying none of them talked to you two minutes ago, how strange. Sheila Hofert is the absolute worst pediatrician we could have ended up with. We were transferred to her after our original pediatrician moved to a further location. She is a nightmare, refuses to communicate with the parents unless you're there in person, there's nothing about our experience with this person that says she's genuinely concerned for the patient. If you need a school physical or vaccines any clinic will do, but if you want a doctor who cares about their patients, a front desk staff that doesn't get away with lying to parents and their boss William, run fast and far. Some doctors go above and beyond for the welfare of their patients, not Hoffert though! One issue you need their help with and you won't get a response from her or her front desk staff. We're pulling our 4 kids out of there ASAP. Good luck if you end up here, you'll need it.

I'm leaving this review here as a warning because I know Johns Hopkins will do nothing but send her new patients. She corrected me at least 3 times like an English teacher when I accidentally called her Mrs. instead of Doctor, "Umm it's Doctor" then when she got done talking she left the room. I sat there for over 25 minutes until I heard janitorial staff emptying trash cans. When I looked outside my room, the work staff was gone & the lights were off! The janitor took me to her office. She gave a curt apology, said the appointment was "NOW" over and go get my referrals. She waived her hand at me as a dismissal and went back to typing as if I had interrupted her! I was LIVID. You don't treat patients like garbage or a nuisance it doesn't matter what your TITLE is. She made me feel like I was a waste of her time. If you want to feel like that, go see DOCTOR TINA JACOB at White Marsh, Maryland.

Please do your research before even considering this office…read more Very very creepy bunch. Not a professional environment. And it's clear it is a Top down situation. A doctor that has been nominated "Best Doctor", for a few years. The only thing I can say is that "nomination " must be a paid service. Please look at other options. LifeBridge certainly has other viable options to pursue. Please.

The first visit she was ok, she seemed interested in what was going on with my health. I am on a medication which causes my body to tremble and I am a hair stylist and had to call out of work due to the fact my hands were shaking so bad. My work requires doctor notes for absences and I called to see if she could provide one since she just saw me two days prior and she was well aware of the side effects of my medication. She denied my doctors note and made me come in for another visit so she could collect her $$$ and when she walked into the room she said so what's going on? No hello, I'm so sorry your shaking no compassion, no empathy..... it was just horrid.... Most recently I had a pancreatitis attack and was hospitalized and was told to visit my primary care physician. Which unfortunately was still Dr. Sakaili. Once again she was rude, quick, non empathetic and treated me as if I was a dollar sign. She denied me the medication the hospital recommended and was exceedingly rude about it. On my way out the door I canceled all future appointments and called my insurance company and found a new primary care physician.... I highly advise anyone seeking a doctor who actually cares and takes pride in their work to find someone else aside from this woman. I am a hundred percent against how she handles her business and I highly suggest you do your research before booking an appointment.

Great doc. Unsafe facility for crips. "Team" can't refill a standing prescription to save my life.read more

Honestly the only reason I come to this facility is because my PCP is here and I've been his…read morepatient since before I had need for specialists. He's amazing and would get five stars on his own. Unfortunately... the rest of the place leaves something to be desired. The front desk staff is overwhelmingly Christian, which is perhaps to be expected from a pseudo-Catholic hospital affiliate. I'm sure that's great for their mental health, if not their eternal souls, but it does leave one with the issues one generally has with loudly-Christian folk, including self-righteousness, ableism, and homophobia. They've recently taken down the "inspirational" (read: prejudiced) printouts wallpapering many cubicles so we'll see how that goes. I have not had much luck here with specialists: My wife, a friend, and I have been refused exams (by different doctors) because of being overweight. I was told "fat people have pain" as if I am too stupid to tell the difference between mild arthritis and a displaced kneecap. Whoopsie! My wife was accused of drug-seeking after a brutal car accident; I got the same from a different doctor because I worked at a pharmacy for years and used the word "drug" instead of "medication" to describe my super-exciting and TOTALLY recreational cholesterol and blood pressure meds. Despite a pair of vicious surgery scars, I was informed that the surgery I had didn't exist. After I paid out of pocket for copies of 24-year-old paper medical records from a non-affiliated hospital, the doctor acknowledged that I had had the surgery but I just didn't know the right name for it. She refused to tell me the "correct" name. I could go on, and I could name names, but the bottom line is that this is a PERVASIVE issue in the culture of the practice. Patients are treated more like enemy combatants than partners in healthcare. There is a saying or belief in Baltimore about doctors. You go to Hopkins if you're good enough You go to University of Maryland if you can stand the politics You go to Mercy if you can stand the religious culture You go to GBMC if you can't stand either You go to MedStar if no one else will hire you ...Overlea just so often fails to live up to Mercy's place on that list.
