With so many positive Yelp reviews, we had to try this place out!…read more Lomo Saltado - asked for medium rare and definitely came out way more cooked than we would have liked, but it was still good, but could have been better. Ceviche Clasico Mixto - yummy! I don't think you can go wrong with their ceviches. They seem to experts in making ceviches. Mofongo Pulpo Anticuchero - the grilled octopus was soooo good! Chicharron de Pescado - this was sooo good! Our server was super nice and attentive. Thank you! Definitely would come here again.

We visited Bongos Restaurant for my brother's birthday after he mentioned it had great reviews…read more What caught his attention was the fusion of Peruvian and Puerto Rican cuisine, and since we're originally from Peru, we always love trying new Peruvian spots. The restaurant itself is cute and well-decorated, and it wasn't busy when we visited (Thursday around 6:30PM). Our server was friendly and attentive, and when we asked where the chef was from, she said Peru--which we later found out wasn't true (an important detail you'll soon see why). Food & Experience We ordered a variety of dishes to try: What we loved: * Sushi Acevichado - Great flavor and well-prepared. * Torta de Chocolate & Mousse de Maracuyá - Both desserts were delicious. What disappointed us: * Sopa de Pollo - The soup was loaded with potatoes, which wasn't an issue, but when we asked if it could be split into two bowls, the server said no. Instead, she offered to bring an extra bowl for us to do it ourselves, which felt like an odd policy. * Lomo Saltado - The charcoal flavor was so overpowering that it wasn't enjoyable, and the fries didn't taste homemade. * Aeropuerto - Not to my liking at all. The chicken was overcooked, and the chaufa's flavor was off, likely due to a different soy sauce (siyau) being used. * Trio (Fried Calamari, Chaufa de Pollo, Ceviche de Pescado) - The fried calamari arrived cold and gooey, the chaufa had the same flavor issue as the Aeropuerto, and the ceviche was just okay. When the chef came to our table, we asked what part of Peru he was from--and that's when we found out he wasn't actually Peruvian. This might explain why some of the traditional Peruvian flavors were missing or off. Would we come back? Probably not. There are so many better Peruvian restaurants we've tried. If we're in the area, we might consider giving it another shot with different dishes, but we wouldn't go out of our way to visit again. (Nice atmosphere, good desserts, but underwhelming Peruvian flavors.)

I've been dying to try Huarike Peruvian Cuisine, the somewhat new restaurant in downtown Clermont…read moreever since they opened, but life kept getting in the way. As a huge fan of Peruvian cuisine, I've eaten at many restaurants in California, New Jersey, and New York, so I was excited to see how this one compared. I stopped in for lunch on Monday with a friend and ordered the Lomo Saltado with fried eggs and sweet plantains (well worth the extra cost), along with their garlic rice. My verdict? It was hands down the best Lomo Saltado I've ever had. The rich, savory sauce, incredibly tender beef, and perfectly sweet plantains were absolutely amazing. I almost licked the plate clean! The portion was huge, and even though I should have taken some home, it was just too good to stop eating. The fried egg took it to another level, and the garlic rice may have been the best rice I've ever had. Trust me--when an Asian guy tells you the rice is incredible, you know it's good! For dessert, I ordered the Tres Leches Tiramisu with flaming rum, and I had to record it because the presentation was so impressive. I honestly couldn't believe how delicious it was. Every bite was pure heaven. I've been dreaming about that dessert for days! The service was just as memorable as the food. Our waitress, Julianna, was warm, professional, and made the entire experience special. Her dessert presentation was outstanding. The owner needs to give her a raise--and whatever you do, don't let her leave! Manager Diana also stopped by our table to check on us. She was so friendly and funny, and together they made us feel like family. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The decor is elegant and romantic, complete with a fireplace inside and a gorgeous outdoor patio that gave off serious Miami vibes. A+ all around. Unfortunately I was with a dude so there was absolutely no romantic vibe This place exceeded every expectation I had. Amazing food, incredible desserts, outstanding service, and a beautiful atmosphere. I can't wait to bring my whole family back. Thank you for being part of the Clermont community. You've definitely earned a loyal customer!

It was pretty busy during that time and you can tell this is a popular spot among locals in the area. They have both indoor and outdoor patio seating, but we opted for inside since it was such a hot day and our son was with us. We ordered some yuca for my son to nibble on and we started off with some of their signature cocktails. My husband got their Origen classic Peruvian sour and I went with the Tropical Passion which is a passion fruit version of the classic. Both drinks were beautiful. I love the frothiness this cocktail gets from the egg white and it was very refreshing. I was craving ceviche and I was happy to see that they have a whole ceviche bar menu with different selections to choose from. They all sounded amazing, but I decided to go with the servers recommendation and got the mixed Aji Amarillo Ceviche which contains fish, shrimp, octopus, and calamari in aji amarillo tiger milk, with onion, cilantro, sweet potato and peruvian corn. It was a huge serving and more than enough for me to eat as my meal (since I was not planning on sharing, haha). The tiger milk was perfection which is one the main things I love about Peruvian ceviche. All the seafood was tender and fresh - even the calamari rings which I am particular about. My husband got their signature Fettuccine Huancaina which is lomo saltado (steak) served over fettuccine with huancaina sauce and pecorino cheese. It was delicious and he loved every bite. Sadly, we were too stuffed for dessert but those also sounded amazing. Next time! The staff was so friendly and accommodating -- we'll definitely be back.

10/10- you won't be disappointed!!…read more I can't stress enough how amazing this experience was. I had been to a Peruvian restaurant in West Palm Beach a couple of months ago and absolutely loved it, so I've been on the hunt for something local that could compare. This place did not disappoint. Don't feel intimidated by the menu--just go for it. Everything we tried was incredible. We started with the ceviche platter, which included three different varieties. Honestly, it was more like an entrée for four than an appetizer, but it was so good we couldn't stop eating it. For our main courses, my husband ordered the beef stew and I had the shredded chicken. The flavors and textures were unbelievable--everything tasted like it had been slow-cooked for hours. Rich, comforting, and perfectly seasoned. We both had Pinot Grigio, although next time we'll probably just go for a bottle. Our bill came to around $130, which felt completely reasonable for the quality of the food and overall experience. Take a chance on this place--you won't be disappointed.

However, we were a party of 4 and were NOT informed there would be a gratuity automatically added to the bill. As of July 1, 2026, new Florida legislation (Ch. 2025-113) requires restaurants to explicitly disclose any "operations charge" (automatic gratuity/service fees) on both the menu and the bill, distinguishing them from voluntary tips. While often applied to larger groups, automatic charges for parties of 4 must be clearly disclosed. The prices are a bit high already even if the food is delicious and not informing us or other customers in advance of adding their gratuity of choice is misleading.

The Fettuccini Mariscos was rich, creamy, and incredibly flavorful. When I pulled up, I wasn't sure if they were open or closed, but as soon as I walked in, the cashier greeted me right away. Starting off strong with great customer service. I ordered the quarter dark with fries, a Sprite, and of course the yellow sauce. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, the fries were solid, and that yellow sauce tied it all together perfectly. The only miss? My fountain Sprite was flatter than a crepe -- definitely a sign the spout needs changing. I was this close to grabbing a slice of tres leches cake, but I had just finished an ice cream cone from McDonald's, so I had to show a little restraint. Overall, my craving was satisfied -- and that's what counts. Thanks, Cuenelli's!
