So, my three sisters and I (among other family) helped my Aunt flip a house in Corner Brook. As a gift for helping out, my aunt gave my sisters and I spa certificates for pedicures, though it was explained that I could use its value towards any service there. I got a pedicure because I got to hang out with my sisters and why not? So apparently at the end of the pedicure, you can have your toe nails painted. I thought it would amuse my little cousins, which it did. So I got them painted a lovely sky blue and then had them put a little white crescent moon on one big toe, and a raying sunshine on the other because, you know, nail polish remover, right? WRONG. Nope. Not what nail polish remover is meant for. A freshly pedicured and high quality nail polish does not come off very easily at all. So cut to me back home in Halifax a few days later. Martini in hand on my couch with my foot in my neighbour's lap as he scrapes the stuff off (he's a professional makeup artist for the film industry). In exchange for a martini of course. My roommate walks in, eyes dart the the floor and he bolts into his room. I think he expected me to give him a "coming out" talk later that day. I just wanted the stuff off my nails. So, in short: Don't do the thing that donny don't does. Great spa though.

This is a wonderful bike store, and they are super friendly for travelers. I'm currently biking…read moreacross Newfoundland and I've gone though all my spare tubes (didn't think I could bring too many). In short order, we were able to restock tubes, and get outfitted with some tougher tires. They also fixed up my bike rack that lost a screw and gave me some extras. They have a lovely patio area to hang out on with other cyclists (while you wait), and this shop attracts good people that are fun to mingle with. I wish I was a local so this could be my home shop!
