Have been treated like crap by some doctors and nurses here. I should have taken action and reported them. Because a few times I felt discriminated against. The doctor as extremely rude and said some really nasty things and inconsiderate to how scared and anxious I was. Just a question, why don't they have dentists at hospitals. They really should because dental emergencies happen a lot and usually happen during time dentists are closed and it's extremely painful. And instead of treating you like you're faking things they could actually help you.

Barbara then went on to tell me I didn't know the terms of my medical insurance. Which included a $20 copay. Which I've had for about 8 years. When I actually showed her my card she glibly said. So you proved me wrong. No I just proved I'm not senile or stupid which was how she was treating me. Then when I said I would prefer to work with a male clinician she told me he didn't take Medicare. So I will NOT be patronizing them.

Unfortunately, most insurance-based healthcare providers often limit visits to 10-15 minutes, which often isn't a sufficient amount of time to hear, understand, and properly diagnose health problems or explain treatment options. Dr. Goodrum and the staff at One Peak Medical are different. They are committed to taking the time necessary to understand your individual health issues and concerns and make recommendations and provide guidance to help you achieve and maintain your optimal potential for overall health. AVOID INCOMPETENCE!…read more If you're expecting competent and professional care do all you can to avoid MorningStar Healing Arts. My mother needed an urgent cancer biopsy. After Dr. Aja Morningstar agreed to accept her as a new patient I explained this to her. We trusted her office assistant (her name is pronounced "Ja-Knight") to get the information Dr. Morningstar's office is supposed to relay to Assante Hospital's Interventional Radiology Dept. (I.R.) so we could have the biopsy done that had been scheduled. The day Before the appointment Assante's I.R. Dept. called us to cancel the appointment because Dr. Morningstar's office - Jiknight specifically - who was responsible for providing I.R. an updated order with an authentication code (and other info.) FAILED to do so. I spoke to two employees at Assante's I.R. department, Colleen and Beth who informed me that after repeated efforts they had been unable to obtain a proper "Updated Order with authentication code" and that is the reason my mom's appointment was cancelled. Instead of correcting her employee, apologizing to us and immediately correcting the matter Aja felt I needed a lecture about how my "Expectations of how the medical profession operated differed from reality" instead of an apology for her employee's negligence in handling the matter. Aja would not let me get a word in edgewise so she could rush to her pre-scripted Big Finale: "So you'll have to find yourself another Dr.". Had she done so I would have told her to stop trying to cover-up her employee's negligent handling of the matter and actually help get the mess her office created fixed. Apparently, Dr, Aja Morningstar was more concerned with covering potential liability instead of being concerned about the wellbeing of my 84 year old mother-with possible cancer. They could of - at minimum - told us they couldn't get the Updated Order and other info. to the I.R. Dept. before they let I.R. cancel the appointment. We could have rescheduled it. But, as I said supra, they were evidently more concerned with not looking negligent. AVOID INCOMPETENCE!

During his first appointment with Howard morningstar, Howard was talking to ME, and I guess my TEENAGER unbeknownst to me, started messing around on his phone (shocking that a teenager would do such a thing right?!).. Dr morningstar noticed before I did, and found it appropriate to abruptly say something along the lines of: "does he usually just sit there on his phone when people are discussing him?" When I attempted to tell my son to please put his phone away, to which my son did, Dr morningstar felt the need to fire off again saying something like: "No that's ok, let him continue staring at his phone like no one is discussing him.. and we'll pretend like he's not here I guess". I attempted to apologize to Dr morningstar, but my apology went unacknowledged. I was left in disbelief. I understand Howard Morningstar prefering my son put his phone away, BUT the way he went about it was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. I was very reluctant to take my son back to Howard. I was relieved when Aja came back, and I made my sons next appointment with her.... But unfortunately it gets worse... Upon my son's first in-person appointment with Aja, she was talking to me, then out of the blue, she actually had the audacity to rudely ask me this: "does he (referring to my son) always just sit there and stare?" I probably had a look of disbelief on my face, because she quickly dismissed her snotty remark and moved on. And Keep in mind this is a kid going through a hard time as it is, then to have "doctors" treat him like this at his appointments.... I have no words for how low they are! It's not right. I wish very badly I would have just took my kid and walked out!. I could say more about some other unfavorable things I encountered with them, but they are minor details in comparison to the bigger picture. So I feel I have said enough. I hope that by making this review I save another parent/child from having to go through such an utterly disgusting experience as the one we had with these people..

My low rating is more about the practice's policies than Dorothy per se. But here is what happened: At the last visit, no cognitive test was performed. Dorothy asked our mother how her memory has been, our mother lied and said it was better. (The caregiver with our mom did not feel it was right to correct our mother in front of her, understandably, as this enrages her, and anyone working with dementia knows that it isn't helpful to contradict her version of reality). My sister and I scheduled a meeting with Dorothy to give her a reality check about our mom, and we were told that since our mother won't be present and her insurance won't cover that (understandable) we'd have to pay $240 for a half an hour of Dorothy's time. That seems unreasonable, I mean, how many people can afford that much out of pocket? (Dementia is already a very expensive disease to manage without extra costs like this.) We asked if we could email her instead and were told there would be a charge for that, too. I've never heard of charging that much for a nurse practitioner to meet about a patient, especially one with diminished capacities. There must be a way to foster important communications about incapacitated patients without charging high fees, but this practice doesn't seem interested enough in making that happen. We are only trying to get information about our mom to her medical team so she can get better care. A different medical practitioner of our mom's in Medford met with me and my sister for an hour and didn't charge us. I know of many doctors nowadays who include emails between them and their patients at no extra charge. I've been interviewed for 2 hours about my mom by her homeopath, and rather than charge me, he thanked me profusely for taking the time to help him do a better job.

Didn't believe me when I said I didn't have a co-pay and threatened me with the $20 statement fee if I was wrong (ok?).. it's rare to even see Leslie, often a nurse practitioner is the one to see you. There's nothing wrong with that except that they rarely remember you or follow through on things. I went in for a female exam and was told I should get a pelvic ultrasound but the referral was never sent through so I never got it. Found out it was food allergies to begin with. Glad it wasn't something serious or else that wouldn't have been good considering I inquired and they dropped the ball. My family also had a very frustrating experience with repeated concerns being ignored until lo and behold it was what they were concerned about to begin with. Their child suffered for months as a result. Needed a referral for physical therapy from a car accident-got the run around so much already I'm finally choosing to go somewhere else, not even going to try and visit them for my concerns. I'm tired of getting a bill for literally nothing outside of what I can find on the internet.

Appointments are rushed and impersonal, with the nurses rarely looking up from the computer screen to notice a patient is actually in the room. Monarch is a revolving door of Practitioners that never stay long, forcing the patient to re-establish care and 'plead' their case over and over to the next nurse. I finally left the practice due to NP Patten's refusal to fill the migraine medication I've been on for 20 years because she wasn't 'comfortable'. Seriously?? Countless Doctors and Neurologists never had any issue prescribing me these meds, yet this nurse uses personal opinion rather than proven medical protocol to make her decision. I never even met or spoke to her! She refused to prescribe based on a paper file and not documented medical protocol. Ridiculous! A very stressful and upsetting outcome to say the least. Maybe she should even try using Google to see that her decision wasn't based on fact. I could care less about her feelings when it's a few weeks before the holidays and I'm without migraine relief because my previous NP just quit leaving me without care. I've now left the practice and have found a fantastic PCP who actually spoke to me like a human being and prescribed all of my established medications without question. I wish I had left Monarch sooner. If you are looking for consistent medical care based on sound medical practices, stay away from Monarch.
