I am very glad, I did this time. The L2Lounge looks inviting with lots of seating places, looking quite comfortable. The seats are placed so that each group feels like their own private cubicle. Drawing display on the wall is contemporary and jazzy. I like when I see a place that looks to be bright, well maintained and clean. We had just finished our lunch somewhere else and now ordered one "crème molle" of mixed macha and taro as we are fond of both flavours. Instead of expecting the usual insolent remarks of many servers in that neighbourhood, being not entirely happy of ordering just one item, the question from the lady behind the counter was "do you want one spoon or two?" This is what I call customer service at its best. For this treatment alone, I will definitely come again and bring friends. This is going to be my favorite dessert place in this area. The ice-cream was just delicious, creamy and tasting all natural ingredients, with the price being very descent. There are also numerous bubble tea options that look very appetizing and would be on my order at my next visit. This is a dessert gem, worth exploring.

I also appreciate that all of them also have a display so you can easily know how big they are and if they are a figurine or a keychain plush. The brew for the green and black tea was acceptable, even if it may not rank in our all-time faves. I hope they continue to do well.

When I walked by their storefront several months back on the way south on St-Laurent (in a bit of a…read morehurry); I took a mental note --- it looked like a café worth trying. I had a gut feeling it looked like a potential stand-out. I also noted it was in the gateway block to St. Laurent/high foot traffic area just North of Sherbrooke St. Knowing that area from years gone by and some more currently, it surely helps being special or unique to hold your own. It appears there is nothing to worry about in that category; these guys know coffee, and surely appear to appreciate the art of it based on one recent visit. The reason I say that is that they prepare their teas and coffee with a degree of precision you would expect to see during a barista's competition somewhere in Europe. They also do latte art, so they're in that category to boot. I am still ruminating on how many steps they go through to prepare an Americano. Yes, really was probably one of the best ones I can remember ie. not your average 'cuppa' to say the least. Apart from high level coffee, they have some excellent classic and blended loose leaf teas; plus a coffee infused Chai and London Fog (that can be made with various types of milk, even oat) that looked and smelled great. Plus some baked goods, a Panini press, smoothies, some Italian sodas, homemade granola (with apricots) and yogurt. Also biscuits and some other items, but I'm still thinking about that smooth and balanced coffee; not too sweet, not too bitter, not too thick, and just rich enough. They have a trio for 13 tax included which seemed like a good offer when in need of three items. The space is not huge, but the counter is broad and the flow seems to work; so probably also good on the go. Spilt or not, their beans made a great coffee.

Stopped in for a bubble tea and the price was good, they were generous with the toppings, but the…read moredrink didn't have a really strong tea flavour. Still, I enjoyed it. 3.5 stars, but rounding up because I like supporting small local businesses and the staff were nice. I got the "Milk Tea 3" which is milk tea with tapioca pearls, chunks of pudding, and pieces of mesona/grass jelly. I got the regular size which was $4.50. I could have gotten a large for $0.50 more and the guy at the cash said it's about 200ml more. The large is a better deal for sure, but when I'm on vacation I try to always reserve some stomach space in the event that I come across some must eat snacks, lol. I like that they sweeten their tea with honey instead of sugar. I got 30% sweet and 30% ice since it was December and already cold outside. The ice level was perfect for the weather. The sweetness level was ok, but I probably could have gone with 50% sweet. I always err on the side of not sweet enough when I'm trying out a new place. Now I know. The tea flavour could have been a bit stronger in my opinion. The tea wasn't too creamy, which I liked, but I know some people like their bubble milk teas richer. They didn't skimp on the toppings, but I found the tapioca pearls a bit on the hard side and not as soft and chewy as I like. The pudding and mesona jelly were great. I liked the giant bendy straw too. I'm not sure why I got my cold drink in an insulated cup though. I couldn't see the toppings since the cup was opaque. Part of the fun of bubble tea in my opinion is the way it looks, but oh well. Staff were super nice and patient with me while I decided on my drink and also when I asked questions about the 2 different sizes. The place is small but looks clean and tidy. I like supporting independent stores over megachains, so I would go back if I was in the area and craving bubble tea :)

Wanted to visit a local bubble tea shop during my stay in Montreal and came across this bubble tea…read moreshop! It was quiet when we walked in, and there was an external vendor near the entrance selling cakes (I believe..not too sure as the vendor did not look up from his phone as we walked in). We went ahead to the bubble tea counter and we decided on trying the Red Bean Milk Smoothie ($4.50, small, +$0.50 for pearls). When I ordered the Red Bean Milk Smoothie, the barista at the counter clarified and asked if I wanted the Red Bean Matcha Smoothie (which is blended red bean and matcha) or just the Red Bean Milk Smoothie (which is red bean blended with milk). I opted for the Red Bean Milk Smoothie as I could not really imagine what blended up matcha and red bean would taste like. We got our drink relatively quick- the red bean tasted fresh and authentic and it had just the right amount of sweetness. However, I found that the drink had a little too much ice in it, and made the drink very crunchy as we had to chew through the ice bits. Furthermore, the pearls weren't too fresh and it tasted a little stale/old. I think next time, I would just stick with the good ol' bubble tea chain shops (like Chatime that is not too far from this shop) as they usually have a higher chance of providing fresh pearls due to their turnover rates while compared to this local bubble tea shop.

They seem to do a fair bit of takeaway for bubble teas and foods. We were seated quickly and the menu was accessible via a QR code, except the code printed on our table was so faded that our scanner didn't recognise it and we had initial trouble loading up the menu. There was another of the same code printed on a specials menu, which is how we got our menu up. The food took about 10 minutes and there were a few other groups dining in. The vasir rice is something we had wanted to try for a few months, and it was overall worth the wait, although it's still not my all-time fave minced pork rice. The pork was tender and thankfully they serve a good amount of juice so the whole thing wasn't dry, which has been an issue with some other versions of this dish elsewhere. The use of stir fried veggies is interesting and again something we haven't seen elsewhere, and while it's not my fave, it's one of the better versions we've had. I initially balked at the seemingly copious amounts of sauce over the cheese potato korokke, but apparently we needed all that sauce and, while is rather not have cheese in my korokke, it was cooked like it should (crisp on the outside, tender inside) and was tasty. Staff come around with a handheld EFTPOS for payment, and it was all in all a pretty seamless experience. I would return for the same and other stuff in the future.

The general Tao poutine was surprisingly really delicious and unique! It used sweet potato fries and instead of gravy, a sweet savory sauce! The squid tentacles were super crispy. The iron plate noodles were kind of basic. It straight up tasted of just black pepper. The oyakodon was pretty okay too. The beef noodle soup had really chewy noodles and the beef was good but portion was smaller than I thought. Don't order this if you can't handle spice! The drinks were especially good and extremely worth it if you order their biggest size! Love that they come with so many options and toppings.
