He is extremely unethical and a liar! You CANNOT trust him. I asked him several times to password protect my tax returns but they are emailed without any security. He FORGOT to file my 2019 NY and NJ state taxes and I didn't find out from the state tax agency until 4 years later that I owe $7000 in penalties and interest! He requested a penalty abatement on my behalf by lying to NY state that the accountant went into labor while doing my taxes. I requested that he pay for his responsibility of $3700. He would only agree to pay for $1000. He claims it's my responsibility to audit him and tell him that they were not filed. I am suing him in small claims. read more

David filed some overdue taxes later than he claimed he did, which was way past the statute of limitations to receive the refunds for those years. He also gave me refund estimates for years that were no longer possible to get refunds for, because of the statute of limitations. He also did not file an amendment like he said he did because there was no record of it with the NYS Tax Dept. If you had your taxes "done" by David, you should call the state tax dept and the IRS and confirm it was actually done properly, if it was even done at all. When I started getting the bills, I reached out to him and I kept reaching out with every subsequent bill I received. He pushed me off with this excuse and that excuse and eventually just stopped responding all together. When I pressed him for some professional accountability, his genius idea was to wait until 2018 refund to balance out the tax debt. Uh ok, David? That's not free money? I will be filing complaints with the IRS, the city of New York, the New York State Office of Professional Discipline, New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, New York State's Office of the Professions Professional Misconduct System, American Institute of CPA (AICPA), and NYS Society of CPAs. I will also pursue legal action for accountancy malpractice basically to recoup costs for the tax attorney I now need to hire to look over David's epic f*ck up. If you want your taxes done right, you're reading the wrong profile. The owner David deserves negative stars. He's...disgusting and I feel filthy for having ever interacted with him. When the seemingly little events of the interactions should be discarded, the huge pangs of anger serve as constant reminder of how wrong the owner's actions were. I used a Yelp special coupon to find a long term accountant. A good one. After doing nth hours or even days (been a while but some things won't let your feelings forget) of research, I went to this particular accounting firm. After the initial appointment (met his daughter mine you (I'm so sorry girly, is it better to be disappointed sooner or more sorry later when you seek lovers like your father? (we all do, while boys fall in love with those like their mothers - I thought of you every time when thinking of writing a review)) I started receiving EXTREMELY LATE NIGHT text messages to my PERSONAL emergency phone "regarding work" that we haven't even started. Hoping it was a one time thing, I firmly messaged back that any communication will continue during normal business hours. Then unbelievably he did it again. I did not answer. Then he did it again. This time on a topic in which I could and would quickly message back out of sheer efficiency and convenience. Two traits I work by. I answered and decided to end this relationship ASAP, DURING BUSINESS HOURS. The unwanted harassment had been too much. I did not pay to get sexually harassed by an old man! I was in my mid twenties. I'm definitely closer in age to his daughter than him hence I was extremely unsuspecting. Good job on using your daughter as bait to portray an "honest" persona I suppose. Old man, you are gross. Your actions were shameful. I was enraged each time I remembered these interactions. I have no idea why they pop up in my brain. If I could choose, I would completely erase all interactions with this person. Anyway, I asked for a refund (he then retracted on the discount he gave me for the entire project which I was okay with since the firm deal fell through (remember Yelp coupon I used? I reminded him)) -not so generous; and have been again, disgusted by all interactions (5 plus or minus 1 time). I got a refund for the amount that I paid additional to the special coupon amount of 100 or plus dollars. Fair and square. This isn't about money but just info in case someone wants to know? This is the first time I give a negative review on Yelp, but David has treated me utterly unprofessionally, has made serious mistakes on my tax returns and has been unavailable to fix them. Now I have to pay another accountant to correct his mistakes! David did my 2016 and 2017 taxes over email and we talked on the phone a couple of times. First off, he's totally disorganized, losing documents I send him, and forgetting important pieces of information I write by email. It's worth noting I sent him a google drive folder with the documents and information well organized. By the way, he sends documents with my SSN by email which is quite insecure. Every time I've spoken or emailed with him it's been rushed and I've gotten partial responses. My taxes are not very complicated so I can't understand how a working CPA can make so many mistakes. It could be because he never read all the documents I sent him, even after I pointed out his omissions. Finally in early April, David recognized he had made mistakes for the 2016 and 2017 tax returns, and said we should just file for 2017 now and that he would submit an amendment for both years after the April tax deadline. I agreed. He never apologized. I wrote to David on May 20 to see if he could file the amendment in the next few weeks. I received a one-line reply the next day "Yes, I will do it shortly". Then on June 23 in reply to me inquiring, he wrote "Sorry I will do this today". I didn't hear back that day or the next day. I wrote him again on June 25 that was getting worried. On June 26, he wrote "Yes, I will do it, but just not have time last few days. I will give you daily update." (Incidentally, I never asked for daily updates, I just wanted him to do it!) Then I didn't hear from him until I emailed yet again a week later on July 1st. We set up a phone appointment for the following Friday. I called him at our scheduled time, no reply. I left a voice mail and sent him an email. He replied back to my email with 4 words only "give me 20 min." By that time my patience was truly at the end of its roll. I had written to him countless times and he never kept his promises. Then I took time off work to sort it out and he treated me with the uttermost disrespect by not even showing up to our call. I couldn't wait 20 min since I had a work meeting starting shortly after, so I decided to give up on him and find a new accountant. So in the end, a horrible experience that cost me so much wasted time and incorrect tax returns. read more

I first learned about David from my colleague, and it turns out many of my colleagues were using him- we are a very global company, and many of my colleagues had very complex international tax situations but David was able to help everyone. I had a great experience with him, he was very nice and funny, and promptly replied to my follow up questions after I was done with my taxes. This year I did not use a professional as my tax situation wasn't nearly as complex as last year, but David still immediately replied to my question regarding my prior year's taxes even after one year later.
