Thank you "Bicycle Repair Man" for saving the day! Halfway through a 30 mile ride, my seat dropped and the nut was stripped. If not for the help from this bike shop, I would have been stranded or at least very uncomfortable. Thankfully, Jimmy quickly found a replacement and repaired my bike all for no charge. Thank you so much for your help! read more

The guy working in there, (possibly Jimmy based on the other reviews?) was wicked nice. My brother and his gf needed helmets (already had bikes) and they asked if it's possible to rent the helmets and he allowed them to just borrow them for free. "I'm not going to charge you for staying safe" is what he told us. THAT alone would have me recommending this place to anyone. The girl behind the counter was also very nice! I'm not sure of her name but she was helpful when I was looking to rent the bike for myself! I rented a bike for the half day time, and the package included the bike, a helmet, a lock, a basket (my bike had a basket), and a couple different maps of the area. All for $20!! You can not beat that price! Also the bike that was given to me to use was purple which was a random little awesome thing, as purple is my favorite color! read more

This place is great. I dropped in today and the owner who is very busy excepting deliveries directing traffic and opening his business for the day took time to come over to my car lubricate my bike gears and adjust brakes chains and get me back on my way for no charge. whenever I need a tuneup or a flat tire fixed this is where I go Been coming here for several years great place You can also rent bikes and get gear inside read more

They were very helpful, bikes worked perfect and they provided us with a Map to get around. Definitely recommend this place for anyone from out of town looking to see the town up close. read more

Jimmy and his guys were an absolute delight to rent from. He set us up with two great cruising rentals to hit the hotspots around Chatham with awesome maps and suggestions. He offered delivery and pickup but since we walked there we just needed pickup. He effortlessly grabbed the bikes without needing to bother a single person so you don't need to feel obligated to be tied down while you wait for pick up. All in all, would highly recommend renting from Chatham Hood Bikes! read more

We had unpleasant experience here with the owner and found their prices very high. There are other local options that we are now using instead. read more

My nephews old 1995 Haro BMX bike. After 20 years in a basement.... it was very rusty and squeaky and not feeling very safe. Jimmy replaced what was needed then oiled and cleaned the things that didn't. And it only is it running sturdy and smooth....somehow it just "feels cooler"....Thanks Jimmy!! I am heading out to practice my wheelies!!! Whaahoo!! read more

My wife and I were Planning a bike ride through Chatham when her rear brake stopped working. We called Chatham Hood, and were told by the man working there that he was just about to leave, but that he would stay there until we could arrive. When we got there, he fixed the brake in about one minute, showed us how to fix it in the future if a similar problem occurred,And did not charge us at all even though we offered to pay. That is as good as it gets. read more

Jimmy is the best! We drove all the way to Chatham to ride the rail trail only to discover one of our bikes brakes had been jostled out of alignment. Jimmy saved the day! He fixed the brake pad, did a little tune up and we were on our way. Definitely stop by if you have any trouble on the trail. read more

Jimmy and the rest of the folks at Chatham Hood Bikes are incredible! Jimmy went above and beyond - spending the time to tune and solve problems beyond what I had even initially stopped in for. They were so helpful, friendly, and great people. Could not recommend more, we will be back! read more

Jimmy is the man, 2nd time he has helped me out HUGE and got the bike done right away (first tire was actually a stroller tire). Wish I could leave more stars cause he went out of the way to help and it was much appreciated. Thanks Jimmy!!!! read more

Absolutely positive experience. Friendly staff and well maintained bikes. Great suggested touring route for half day ride to catch many of the sights around Chatham. Highly recommend! read more

Stopped by today to get my son's helmet fixed. Jimmy was super friendly, professional and fixed the helmet on the spot!

We love this bike shop! We were looking for a bike for our daughter during this surreal pandemic and Jimmy went to his shop ( and even offered delivery) and pulled out an amazing selection and fully equipped us with helmet, basket and the special requested hamburger bell! We will definately be going back for an upgrade when she outgrows this one. We have rented from Chatham Hoods in the past and it was also a great experience: super friendly, accomodating, perfect location and great equipment. Thabnk you aagain, Jimmy! read more

Perhaps I walked in at a bad time, but the gentleman working could not have been more rude and aggressive. I understand they were "understaffed" and when I suggested we go for a walk and come back, he replied (yelled) "yea, go for a walk". I was so taken aback, I apologized (for wanting to rent four bikes?), he said "you should apologize" (yelled) and continued with "go for a walk". I left there, shaking, and the four of us went to Brewster Bike Rental and had a 5 star experience. read more

At Chatham Hood Bikes, you are really entering Jimm Ponte's world and it is a great experience. My experience was related to a simple Bike Tuneup, But Jimmy even made this experience very positive. Yes, he did a wonderful job and he even picked them up, but even more important, he made me feel like his most important customer. Top quality guy with a great attitude. read more

The bikes were in great condition and looked more than just the average rental rides. Price was very reasonable given the fact that they dropped off and picked up bikes locally in Chatham for our group with a 30-45 mins notice. Great experience over all. I highly recommend this place. read more

Awesome people - awesome service! We needed to change a seat on a bike and they could not have been nicer. Took care of it immediately and went the extra mile to make sure it was the right height. read more

Good value for bike rentals all day with extras such as locks and baskets. However, the owner was so rude!! We tried to be good customers and point out what didn't work for us/was broken and he immediately blamed us. Will definitely avoid in the future. read more

From the day we got there to the day we returned, there couldn't have been ruder service even though we had spent quite a bit of money giving them our business. One of the bikes also malfunctioned and they would not give us a price break. I was speaking with the woman working in a pleasant manner when a bald man with a long beard interrupted & started yelling at us for no reason. He presumed to tell us "fuck you" & flip us off until we left the store. This man works at the store, and may possibly be the owner. We highly recommend never giving this place your business due to the constant disrespect we had received. read more

Very low key shop. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bike rentals are $20 for 2 hours $30 for 4 hours. Comes free with helmet basket and lock. A quick 15 minute bike ride to the beaches. I would definitely rent again. read more

This was truly a 5 star experience. The bikes were in excellent condition. Ask for Jimmy. He went out of his way to make our biking experience pleasant and memorable. He coordinated pick up and drop off at our convenience and provide excellent tips for a local ride in Chatham. read more

First time in Cape Cod/Chatham. Was looking for something to do with the family. Awesome experience with Chatham Hood Bikes! Very personable and knowledgeable. Highlighted a map of different routes we could take. Bikes were in great condition too. Highly recommend!! read more

Great experience. This is the first vacation we didn't bring our bikes, chose to ride and had to rent. Jim was very accommodating to our last minute plans. The variety of rentals fit our experience of riders and bike perfences. Offering to pickup the made bikes at the end of the few days we rode made it very convenient. read more

great service and friendly helpful staff! Bikes were easy to ride around the cape!

The poorest service we have ever had. Owner has a very unprofessional demeanor and was cussing at my family and children. Issues with one of the bikes as well and he was not at all concerned or empathetic. Would not recommend. Several other options in Chatham where I'm sure the service will be much better! read more

Great place to rent a bike while in Chatham. Jimmy and Ava were awesome. We rented 4 bikes and a tag a long and Jimmy even changed out handle bars for one of my kids in order to get a better fit. Plus, they delivered the bikes and picked them up from our house. Grand slam all of the way. read more
