USPS Not Delivering for multiple days in a row? and its not a Federal shutdown either…read more ZIPCODE= 31411 "Oakridge" We've used Informed Delivery since it was initially provided and until now it has been a good "informer" of the mail to be expected the day of the 7:25 a.m. email, with delivery here on the outer edge of Oakridge as late as 6:30 p.m. However, the last three emails, 3 days, have indicated a total of over 25 pieces of mail including confidential financial mailings, a few bills still mailed, yes lots of bulk mail too, but NONE OF THE THREE DAYS HAS THERE BEEN A USPS DELIVERY AT ALL!!!! I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to early vote for this major Presidential election, at…read morethe Eisenhower voting location, at the office of Board of Elections. The line seemed long due to the enforced Covid 6' spacing, but it moved quickly. All in all, beginning to end, it took me about 40 minutes. That's about what I expect on any major election. Don't forget your mask- it's required. Additionally, tenting kept those waiting out of the direct sun/rain, complimentary water available while waiting, voters were respectful and cordial, as well as, the volunteers. The voting machines at this location appear new and require a slight different procedure. You'll receive a plastic voter card, that has a chip reader, to insert in your machine. The voting process is much the same at this point. However, once you make your selections and you've finished voting, you'll print your ballot that will include a scanning code. Your final step is to take your printed ballot with scan code and insert into a machine that, I'm assuming, will read your scan code. Additionally, the printed copy will not be returned and remains in the machine. Two ways to confirm your vote! As always when voting: no cell phones, no videoing, no campaigning, no weapons. Also, secured absentee ballet box here and waiting area for handicap voters that are given priority.

She walked me through the process, answered my questions without making me feel rushed, and made what could have been a stressful errand surprisingly easy. The staff is super nice and if you'd like an item that's not available they'll have it shipped to any one of the libraries throughout the entire county . They even have dogs on some weekends and the kids read to them which in turn builds up their confidence. I cook a lot so I get a chance to read and make some of the recipes in the cookbooks & if they're great I can purchase them knowing I made the right choice .
