Scrambled egg tartine was delicious.
Craig W.

This review is for the restaurant only because I will never be able to afford even one night's stay at the hotel ($1000 minimum as of this review and that is certainly for the lowest "budget" room possible). Nor would I ever pay that much or anything like it for one night at any hotel and don't get me started on that. Sunday brunch was lovely. First, though, you need to deal with the parking. Better yet, park elsewhere and just walk in. I learned--the hard way--there are TWO valet stations. One is for the hotel and one is for the restaurant. I think. Anyway, I went to the wrong valet station, of course, received a little attitude from the guy up front, but they took my very non-luxury car anyway. (Valet is $25 before tip, FYI.) Yes, the restaurant prices are ridiculous. $29 for a very modestly-sized (that's what she said) Bloody Mary is absurd. I will say, from watching the bartender at work, he knows what he is doing. The breakfast sandwich sounded very ordinary but it was absolutely delicious. The scrambled egg tartine was equally delicious. The chef knows how to make great eggs here. We also splurged on a nice but way too expensive baguette as an "appetizer," just because. It was fine. Service was very good. Most people here are famous or zillionaires or both and the service they receive is probably a little better. So be it. We weren't rushed in any way and everyone who tended our table was very pleasant and attentive. The garden dining area is relatively small. The decor is interesting. It reminded me of being in Turkey, even though I have never been there. Yes, my ignorance or Turkish culture is on full display. At any rate, it is a peaceful setting. If I were to compare this weekend brunch spot to the brunch at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel, I would say the latter is better. I have never bad a bad meal at the Polo Lounge and the service (with one minor exception) has always been amazing. I think the dining area setting at the Polo Lounge is better, too. Additionally, you can actually walk around that hotel and stretch your legs a little. For non-guests of the property, you simply do not get to wander around the Chateau Marmont, probably for good reason. Yes, the prices are ridiculous but I am glad I came. I cannot complain.

Chateau Marmont is a place that it feels necessary to tick off the bucket list at some point, whether you're visiting LA or a local. We came here as a party of two on a Sunday for brunch in October. I'd made a reservation on Resy that was fairly easy to get a week before. Chateau Marmont is located on the edge of a street in Hollywood Hills that is narrow and at the bottom of a steep hill, so there are really no parking options besides valet. The driveway is also narrow and can be tricky to get into. After parking with valet, we went into the hotel and were greeted immediately by a friendly staff member, and showed to our table in the courtyard. The courtyard is a stunning space and feels like a classic Old Hollywood place. We received water and menus immediately and ordered soon after. I didn't have high expectations for the food but we both enjoyed our meals a lot. The waffles were perfectly made and not overly sweet. My husband enjoyed his eggs Benedict and the side of chicken sausage was great. This feels like a place I'll come back to with out-of-town friends for the ambiance.

This place is so yummy and sober. The best margarita is still even a year later I had a chicken salad which was a chopped salad added with chicken chicken the super moist super delicious. The surface was fast and the vibe and ambience is absolutely great. You're really paying for the vibe. We had two drinks and a salad with chicken and it cost me $100 so just remember you're paying for the vibe.!

The Chateau is just an iconic monument that you have to check out at least once if you're in LA. The food isn't revolutionary, especially for the price point, but it's still quite nice. The garden is honestly stunning and the staff was attentive & kind.

Me, Laura, G3, @cristopherfuckingrobin & Chris Woo pulled up to see if Luka Sabbat is speaking facts or bluffing about this joint and I have to hand it to him, he made watching Marty Supreme in 70MM afterwards enjoyable. The food was way to over priced, drinks were 20$ for a small cup, food was very salty, the steak had no flavor and was dry, fries were overly salty, best thing was there chicken, and our bill for 2 drinks and 3 plates of food was 200$. ALSO, in the check they didn't give me a pen to write the amount of tip I would like to give them, so I gave my card and bill to them without saying a word, THEY TIPPED THEM SELFS, 35$. Like the food was terrible, area was nice, but just not worth the money, out of many restaurants I've visited, it had to be the worst!

The patio is classic and has lots of option for shade. The staff is attentive and gracious. I went with a group so we had an array of appetizers including the crudités and truffle fries (the fries are delightful). I opted to get the spaghetti bolognese as it seemed popular amongst other reviews. It was very good. For the desserts, the tiramisu and cheesecake were standouts. While it's on the pricey side it's a fun spot if you want something very Hollywood.

I greatly enjoyed my stay in this charming hotel. The rooms in the main building are retro, with 50s era kitchens and bathrooms. The tile, bathtub, and sink showed some age. I'm guessing they were installed in the 70s. Nonetheless, the furniture and carpeting looked new. The restaurant was good on average. It is in a garden and has a marvelous ambiance. The food was tasty. Ridiculously expensive but at least the portions were large. Service was hit and miss. Polite and attentive for one meal, "where the heck is my server?how about some water?" At another. Service should be consistently attentive at a restaurant this pricey. Also, it was tiresome at every meal to be asked a half-dozen times by a half-dozen different people, starting with the hostess, whether I was a guest of the hotel. I'm not exaggerating about being asked six times at breakfast and six times at dinner. Isn't there a way they could have the hostess record the information and have it automatically transferred to my check? The bar was fun. They have an excellent martini program. Outstanding concierges. They were quick with dinner reservations and helpful with arranging to have my room cleaned at a specific time.

Very cute place to come and eat. Came here for our Christmas luncheon in December. Everything was great until we asked an employee if they could take a picture of us and she said no. I think it's very rude especially when you have been asked very politely.

Château Marmont is one of those places that just feels special the moment you walk in. It is charming, tucked away, and has that old Hollywood vibe that somehow still feels intimate and cozy. The outside patio is stunning with its greenery, soft lighting, and relaxed elegance. It is the perfect setting for a vibey brunch if you want a spot that feels like a little escape in the middle of the city. I ordered the frosé because I love a blended drink, and it was amazing. Perfectly cold, refreshing, and not overly sweet. I also tried the crudité, which came with a great selection of fresh, crisp vegetables. The presentation was beautiful and everything tasted incredibly clean and high quality. The one star I am taking off is for the parking, which is both difficult and extremely expensive. Even valet will make your eyes widen, and street parking in that area is nearly impossible. The food is also pricey, which is expected for the location but still something to note. Overall, Château Marmont is an experience worth having if you want ambiance, charm, and a little bit of magic with your meal. It truly delivers on vibe and atmosphere, and the food and drinks make it even better. I highly recommend it for a special brunch with a great energy, just budget a little extra time and money for parking.

Not quite the grand dame that it used to be back in the early 90s when Johnny and River and Charlie and Heidi (and Jack N. and Bob E. sometimes) made it more of a kick. But it still remains a home away from home in that it maintains a genuine old school hospitality, and the rooms - especially the more expensive ones on the high floors - feel like great old apartments and not like cookie cutter hotel rooms, which is more and more of a rarity these days. We always love our stays here. So convenient to everything, and when you get in for the evening, you feel like you're coming back to your own place.

Classy ambiance but snooty staff! The waiter was nice but host and valet employees were not friendly upon arrival. Celebrated my birthday brunch here and was surprised we were not allowed to take photographs outside but managed to sneak a few. I do recommend the crudités and guac appetizers as well as the bolognese for a main. Every other brunch dish is decent but nothing special.

I like it here ! Quiet , good drinks ! Good vibe ! Chill even when setting up for events and I dig that !

So when our daughter cut through the middle of her scrambled eggs, a strand of hair showed up.

Do I have to wear pants at lunch? Is it cool if I just wear a thong?

What if I conveniently "lost my room key fob"?

I paid $100 for mine -- I asked when checking out and they gladly told me. The green tassle key ring is now my car key ring.

No one has commented on the rooms? Do the bathrooms have tubs? Decor?

Our room had a tub. The decor is Art Deco. It felt like a 1950s apartment with widescreen TV and a comfortable bed.

My friends did not disappoint recommending Short Stories Hotel. My room was a Standard Queen with a small sitting area. The room was nicely sized, with a small bar, safe and refrigerator. A couple of things: some rooms will probably be noisier than others depending on the location. My room was on the 2nd floor and faced the pool area. The back side of the hotel faces apartment homes and that can be a little noisy if they are having a get together outside. Also, the room did not come with an iron or ironing board (this is a need for me), however the front desk will bring one to your room if you request it. This is a smaller property, with a lobby bar that also serves food. There is a great outdoor seating/courtyard area where guests can enjoy some quiet time reading, or at times having a drink and socializing - they also offer free coffee and tea each morning. The pool area is smaller than most hotels, but it fits well with the rest of the decor. The front desk had someone there 24/7 and they were great as far as offering suggestions on places to eat, how far some things were, etc. I felt pretty safe staying in this hotel and had no problems coming back from a night out, or getting an uber quickly. They also offer valet parking if you have a car. This property sits on Fairfax directly across the street from The Farmer's Market and the Grove shopping center. It is walking distance to shopping, restaurants, museums, and a short Uber to the La Brea Tar Pits and Melrose area shopping. If you get a chance, head to the Fairfax open Marketplace which is about a mile away from the hotel. Open each Sunday, is has many local vendors selling everything from clothes, candles, music, home decor items, etc. This hotel was a little over $300 per night, but the location made it worth every penny. I walked most places and had a short Uber ride to other areas. When I come back to Los Angeles, I will stay there again - I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this property.

So I called the front desk to ask for new bath towels, waited for an hour.. didn't come. Called again waited another 30 mins, still never come. On the check out day, one of the staff was banging the door when I was in the shower. Which was ridiculous because I talked to the front desk the night before that I am going to have late check out. I was rushing to wear my clothes to answer the door, and realised he already opened my room door. Which means, luckily i was dressed.. if not, he would see me naked. And I feel this is super disrespectful! Why would u open someone's door without permission? Then the whole conversation he was so rude, with an attitude, said I didn't have late check out, late check out is not guarantee and only gave me 10 mins to leave the room and will have penalty. I was shocked. At the end when I check out. I was asking for the staff's name who is kicking people out. And the front desk was trying to cover up for him and said they don't know who that is. I am like.. Come on, how could you not know your coworker's name? So they finally gave me a name " Johnathan" which I don't know if they made it up or not. The room itself was excellent, but the overall experience was severely damaged by a serious valet incident. On my last day, I handed my luggage to valet staff before breakfast and also gave them my car key to retrieve my vehicle, as valet parking was the only option at $75 per day. After breakfast, I drove off and later realized my luggage was not in the trunk. I immediately returned to the hotel and found that my luggage had been mistakenly placed in another guest's vehicle. The lobby manager initially reviewed security footage and attempted to contact the driver, but communication quickly became slow and inconsistent over the following weeks. I later followed up in person again, but progress remained unclear and delayed. More than three weeks passed without resolution, and it appeared that contact with the driver had been lost. We then had to escalate the issue to Hyatt headquarters before the claims process finally moved forward. The entire process, from late February to the end of April, was extremely slow. What was most disappointing was not just the initial mistake, but the lack of urgency, poor coordination, and unclear communication throughout the recovery and claims process. I understand errors can happen, but I paid for valet service and expected proper responsibility and follow-through. My luggage contained luxury clothing, cosmetics, medication, and essentials for relocation. The handling of this situation significantly worsened an already stressful incident. I hope Hyatt takes this feedback seriously and improves its valet accountability and crisis response process.

(Sat/Sun) LOVED their eco friendly vibe and thoughtfulness in the design of the property. Even down to the glass cups for complimentary water. Our room keys were wooden chips, the flooring material in the elevators were soft and cushion-y (so unique), real plants placed throughout the property- even in your room, free rides via their Audi vehicles (3 mile radius) and so much more. Upon arrival we were quickly checked in. Probably took no more than 10 mins. Valet was $75. Pets however stay for free! (So awesome) We ended up on the 10th floor and found a bottle of prosecco in the room to start the celebrations. The room was super clean, eco-friendly and the view was beautiful. Bedding was comfy and so was the additional couch in the room. Amenities were bomb and fridge options were too good! (Good brands) The lounge at check in was such a vibe with dim lighting. Sat there a few times (evening and morning) to just relax and enough the ambiance. Hotel was super lively with guests and community. There was a dj one evening and they seem to have a lot of wellness activities and offers which was nice to see. There's a breakfast spot right next to checkin (we didn't try) and a complimentary fresh fruit stand in the mornings. The architecture of the property is so beautiful and you can tell they really care for it (and the plants!) The grand stairs were my favorite be sure to take some pics in the evening - the glow is to good. Will definitely be back. I'm a fan!

Is this the "best" Best Western? Well, it might be. But it is still a Best Western…read more The location, smack dab in the middle of the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, is incredible which is why you are not paying typical Best Western prices. It is situated literally next to the Sunset Tower Hotel which is a celebrity hotspot and extremely expensive. The Andaz Hotel is across the street and Saddle Ranch and the famous Comedy Store are maybe a one or two minute walk away. The room was very nice and the bathroom was good-sized. The shower was also excellent (except the body wash in the wall dispenser was empty--hey, it's a Best Western, did you expect perfection?). There is a free continental breakfast and it is fine. The pool is good-sized but there were no towels available when we arrived. Again...this ain't the Beverly Hills Hotel. The self-parking garage is on the other side of the property and is connected to the hotel. Be aware: some rooms, like ours, overlooked Sunset Boulevard. Sunset Boulevard is extremely loud, especially at night. If that may disturb you, ask for a room facing the other way. Unfortunately, the worst thing going for this hotel is the clientele. Yes, this is a budget hotel chain but the prices you pay at this particular spot are far higher solely because of its location. Sadly, some of the guests were incredibly noisy and rude and apparently, smoking at the pool is perfectly acceptable. I could give other unfortunate examples. So this pricier budget hotel still attracts a very budget crowd. Would I stay here again? If I wanted to be in this location without paying $500 or more a night, yes.

This was my fourth stay at Best Western Plus Sunset Plaza Hotel, and it just keeps getting better…read more The hotel was recently remodeled, and the transformation is beautiful. The rooms feel modern, fresh, and incredibly clean, with a cozy boutique vibe that you wouldn't normally associate with a Best Western. In fact, when you think of "Best Western," this is definitely not what comes to mind -- it feels more like a charming, stylish boutique hotel tucked right into the heart of West Hollywood. I stayed on the third floor with easy access to the backyard pool area, and it was such a relaxing setup. The little patio and pool space are absolutely beautiful -- peaceful, well-kept, and perfect for unwinding. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, making the whole stay feel warm and inviting. They also offer breakfast, which is such a great bonus, and the manager is truly amazing -- welcoming, attentive, and genuinely caring about guests' experiences. Even though there are much fancier hotels nearby, I would choose this one again in a heartbeat. It feels personal, cozy, and special. I'll absolutely be coming back over and over again.
