I can't recommend Baker Floor Refinishing. I have an approx 19'X16' pine floor that needed…read morerefinishing. 1. Mr. Baker quoted me $900 over the phone. We were both busy for a few weeks so we set a date about a month out. When he called to verify the time, he said it would be $2000, MORE THAN DOUBLE initial quote! We went back and forth a bit about the size of the job and he agreed to the $900. 2. Two of Mr. Baker's employees performed the job-sand, stain and three coats of poly. The original stain was quite dark and we went with a lighter shade. We had the room walled off with plastic so the cat couldn't go in. Once it was finished, I noticed that they did not get all of the original dark stain off. There were many places that only received a light sanding. The places where the wood was cupped up were the only ones with a good sanding. 3. A light sanding is performed after the first and second coats of poly. They did a poor job of vacuuming up the wax dust. Most of the nail holes and grooves between the planks have white dust in them which was covered with poly. 4. This is not necessarily a negative but Mr. Baker never actually came out to see/inspect the job or follow-up.
