Management staff difficult to say the best. When I arrived to move in, I felt rushed to sign…read morepapers, told to hurry and get up to my apt to inspect a long check off list before movers got there (they were close) cuz if they did any damage and I didn't mark it down I'd be charged. I was not well that day with excessive heat (MS) and told her that, but Dawn just stared at me. She told me she'd be surprised if I found anything wrong as it had been redone. Wrong! All the things pointed out before to be fixed were not. The only light fixture in the LR did not work. The smoke detector was laying on the kitchen counter not hooked up, the fireplace did not turn on, there were holes in the screened porch not fixed, the kitchen light didn't work, the bathtub did have water, but the kitchen and bathroom sinks i found later had no running water. Dawn was rude to our movers, and Dawn and Jody were rude to me. They both have little comprehension as to how the computer software works to initially be approved. They gave me a number to call but two people told me the opposite thing of the other at the place that designed the software. When I called back to the office managers I was instructed to have my husband help me as he had no trouble. Obviously, that would work, but why didn't they know? When I brought the list of items down moving day that were not working, Dawn was obviously surprised and didn't even let me finish the list before saying nothing other than excuses why they weren't done. They knew for weeks when move in was. The smoke detector i was told had been beeping nonstop in "my" apartment the day before and people had complained and they had to disarm it. Okay. So, what? So why didn't they fix it? Well, they're just so busy. They said that a lot. And it seems I was to understand and be okay about that. II did not move in. And they made a point of making a scene to get my keys back in the parking lot after making me wait an hour to see if I could get my rent back (and then they called my husband, not me, to tell him to tell me) with Jody rattling her keys in her hand as she and Dawn walked toward me, Jody hissing "GIVE ME THE KEYS. GIVE ME THE KEYS" over and over and over. A little girl came over as I walked to them. Jody instructed the girl that she had to leave. It wasn't safe. I was just walking to them, saying in a normal, calm tone to her GIVE ME THE KEYS that there was no running water in the unit. I was getting pretty sick at that point. I was clearly no threat to anyone. She yelled a snide remark as I went to my car. Then it took two weeks to send me my money back. A pkg I ordered that couldn't be rerouted is there. I'm taking the loss on it. I never want anything to do with those women again.

My husband and I overall enjoyed our time at Sun Lake Woods in our 1 bedroom apartment. We felt…read morethat it was the most cost effective apartment complex we could find in the area and was at a very competitive price when we left. Our apartment did not have the all fancy granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, or a new washer and dryer like newer complexes have, but everything was very reasonable for the price and we had little complaints about what we were walking into. We liked being in Sun Lake Woods rather than across the street at Sun Lake for the close proximity to all the amenities including the pool, gym, mail room, billiards room, trail access, underground garage, and leasing office. Nothing was super updated (wait until you see the carpet in the common spaces!), but for the price it was all very reasonable. The best feature for us was the guest room that was available for $65 a night, which our family used on many occasions. I haven't heard of other apartment buildings offering a room for guests like this one. Over the two years we lived at Sun Lake Woods, we ran into our fair share of maintenance issues and it was frustrating to deal with in the moment. One day our microwave touchpad/buttons quit working and it took a month for a new one to "come in", so we were out of a working microwave for that time. Our dryer was another issue as it would leave rust stains on clothes when they got stuck in a certain spot and that issue was never resolved. Then our outdoor patio was essentially wasted space due to the amount of bugs that would get in and dirt that would fall through the wood beams of our upstairs neighbors' space. The amount of cleaning and upkeep of our patio was too much for us to continue using the space. Really all the screens and wood around the patio areas could use updating. I felt that I was in a safe area and liked that packages were kept in a locked mail room that I could access with my fob. Never any mail or package issues came up. Also, the parking lot could accommodate for guests so I never had to worry about a friend getting towed or having trouble finding a spot. The employees of the leasing office were always very kind and caring, they truly seem to care about their work and have put in the extra thoughts to make this apartment a great place to live. So overall, this is a great budget-friendly apartment, but shouldn't be compared to any luxury apartment complexes that you may find in the area, and their prices should reflect that.

Management is absolutely horrible here, you can call all you want, they wont answer the phone. Your…read moreunit upon move in will be dirty, my washer/dryer didnt work for the entire first month i lived there and had to go to a didferent unit on the opposite side of the building to wash clothes while they ordered part after part to get it fixed instead of just replacing the unit and fixing it elsewhere so your resident isn't inconvenienced. Where i was washing clothes there was a new resident moving into that unit that same day, i found this out on my own because i helped them move a piece of furniture into that same unit which i had clothes in the washer/dryer prior that morning. Management claims they walk the property, but theres glass everywhere by the garage door, animal waste areas are always full and stink the area. My car was towed inside the garage because i forgot to hang my tag for 1 night, it cost me $350, i get to the tow place and they accept cash only which management did not inform me about, nor the cost, if you're going to contract a company out to tow, get the facts for your residents. Inside my cabinets has nasty dirty finger prints from installation, not aure how that passed inspection before us moving in. Ive never seen 10 didferent property managers lose their jobs in the 1 year ive lived there and they have all been horrible. They sit in theei office and chat and dont answer phone calls ever and no calls back. It makes zero sense, this is supposed to be a newer, nicer complex and I guarantee you that this is the complete opposite.

The office staff is really pleasant to work with. Randi and Ave are super helpful and friendly. They recently hired a new maintenance guy named Brandon and he gets the issues resolved really fast.
