I had a very disappointing experience with Chase Evans and my estate agent, Balmit. My offer on a property was accepted in writing on Saturday, and based on this, I immediately engaged (and paid) a solicitor to start the process. However, a few days later, I was informed that the seller had decided to go to a "best and final offer" process because another buyer had come in with a higher bid--essentially, I was gazumped despite already having written confirmation of my accepted offer. To make matters worse, communication throughout the process was poor. I had to chase Balmit multiple times just to get confirmation of what was happening, which only added to the frustration. The lack of transparency and professionalism made what should have been an exciting process incredibly stressful and disappointing. I moved into my flat in June and had a great experience with the sales agent, Kevin. I wasn't made aware at the time of move in though that the landlord doesn't actually use Chase Evans for repairs. I flagged that my shower head holder was broken and a safety hazard during my inspection on June 1st. It is now September 16th and I still have not been able to get someone to come repair it and the shower head has hit me on the head, leaving a bruise multiple times. The property manager, Andrew Karayiannis, and his manager Bethany are claiming they're doing all they can do but they rarely return my calls or follow through on what they say they're going to do and they're unable to get an appointment set. I have tried going through the landlord's person directly but he is unresponsive as well. This is by far the worst property management experience I've had in the UK and in the US. At the very least, make sure you understand if Chase Evans actually manages the property or just avoid altogether. read more

Avoid at all costs. Moved into an apartment that had urine stained bedding and mattress that the landlord won't replace (after 30 emails/calls back and fourth they agreed to a steam cleaning of the mattress), faeces left in the toilet, fixtures falling off, dirt everywhere having apparently been "professionally cleaned", filthy walls, a strong curry odour throughout the kitchen/living room that won't go away, a sliding window/door that was broken for 2 weeks and wouldn't close, not being given a hot water card and going without hot water for 2 days, not even an apology but that is just the tip of the iceberg. Paid 6 months rent upfront as I didn't have a guarantor, Shahid Miah the agent I was dealing verbally said I would be able to pay monthly thereafter even though the contract stated another 6 months would have to be paid 4 months into my tenancy? He was particularly useless after I had paid nearly £10,000 upfront his job was done. 4 months in I get emailed demands to pay the 6 months right away, I tried to negotiate monthly payments via email, the absolutely useless "Senior Credit Controller" called Daniel Gregory replies once a week saying he'll see what he can do (promising a reply within 24 hours), and then wait a week to be told its not possible to add an addendum (why does it take a week to do so? Why say I can pay monthly initially then use the time your delayed email takes to serve me an eviction notice). The next thing I know I get a Section 21 Termination letter saying i'm being evicted. A few days later I get emails saying they want prospective tenants to view the apartment within 24 hours as I'm moving out. Then phone calls asking me to pay the remaining balance?! I PAID 6 MONTHS UPFRONT AND I'M 4 MONTHS IN WHAT REMAINING BALANCE? Anyway I'll be moving out soon and i'm sure they are chomping at the bit to scam deductions out the deposit and I will post updates. read more

My wife and I rented a flat from with Chase Evans last year (2014). We are both professionals, and have previously rented other flats in London, other UK cities and abroad. The property we rented was in a great location, and looked very nice indeed. As with anything, you also pay for what you get. However, with Chase Evans, you get 5 star accommodation with 1 star service. They're great when you first move in, but then they become impossible. Anything you ask to be fixed is questioned, if they even get back to you in the first place. All issues with the rental prompted us to look elsewhere after just a few months. As we should have expected, they took a large chunk of our deposit, for completely invented reasons. Reading other reviews, they seem to have put this into a routine - confiscating deposits is apparently part of their business model. I always treat properties I stay in as I would treat my own, and have never had any deposit taken from me previously. Chase Evans have however made this into an art - their "independent third-party" inventory management company is clearly involved in the setup and anything but independent. All positive reviews of Chase Evans seems to have one thing in common - they have just stayed for a few weeks and not tried to have anything in the flat fixed, and certainly not tried to get their deposit back. If you care about having issues, such as a non-flushing toilet fixed within a reasonable amount time, or want your deposit back: STAY WELL CLEAR OF CHASE EVANS. read more

I am utterly disgusted by the way this company has treated us. It is almost 2 months on after the end of our tenancy and we are still chasing our deposit. I have been passed from one incompetent property manager to another without resolve. They are unprofessional, ill informed and communicate poorly with each other and with tenants. After reading reviews online about people who had similar experiences, I am shocked this company is still allowed to remain in the market. I have had to chase this everyday for the last 6 weeks. Promises are made and not fulfilled. They are unable to inform me of the complaints procedure. Avoid at all costs. Its not worth the stress. read more

One star is too many stars!! Chase Evans were great to start with, they were helpful and nice until I was leaving. They said the excellent cleaning job done by a professional cleaning company that cost me £400 in total was not good enough and that i should have used their preferred cleaning company. They then said i could not have the keys back to let my cleaning company in and they would charge me £200. The woman i dealt with was rude and aggressive but finally conceded that the cleaning company could enter the flat. I arranged for the cleaning company to go in only for Chase Evans to say that they would have to pick they keys up as they could not possibly leave the office!! Eventually after complaining and demanding another agent and speaking to her manager I got it cleaned again! They then did the checkout inspection and decided that the clean again was not good enough and tried to charge me £200 out of my deposit. They also tried to charge me £10 for every mark or scuff that surprisingly they had not noticed on the checkin inspection. I refused and declined to pay for it and thats when the saga started again!! Chase Evans stated that it takes on average 8 weeks to get the deposit back which is ridiculous. They were apparently being intermediaries between myself and the owner who lives in China and has been to the flat once! It took going to my solicitor and threatening them with the ombudsmen to even get them to really listen! It cost me £600 in total to move out of the flat which is an astonishing amount!! I would not recommend Chase Evans to anyone, in fact I would strongly advise against using them. They will punish you for not using their cleaning service and will try and rinse every penny possible out of you!! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! read more

NEVER RENT WITH THIS COMPANY I have rented many flats in London from a variety of agents and this is the worst I or anyone I have met has encountered. Customer service is awful, calls and emails are never returned, and they will take every bit of money from you possible. The second day we moved in we got locked in the living room, as Chase Evans never informed us that the handle was not working in that it was stated on the inventory to not close it. After phoning the fire brigade to let us out (the door was smashed!) they never even apologised. We had no working fridge for 3 months as Chase Evans did not contact the landlord and a leak in the building hallway meant that the floor and skirting boards needed to be repaired- for which they are now attempting to charge us for repairs! This is just the headlines, trust me, there have been many more incidents! Please do not rent with this company. I promise you, they will only cause stress in the future and I don't want anyone to go through what what we have had to endure over the past year. read more

My wife took time out of her day to view a flat advertised by Chase Evans, only to find that the flat was not the same as the one advertised (different photographs and different price). When confronted, the agent, Shahid Miah, just made excuses about it not being his responsibility to check advertisements. And when my wife stated that she was not interested the flat view, Shahid left immediately, without apology. read more

I rented an apartment from Chase Evans for two years. I found their "check in" and "check out" procedures expensive, complicated, and stressful. They require six weeks' rent as a deposit. They charge all sorts of unjustifiable fees for both "check in" and "check out" - expect to have all kinds of deductions taken from your deposit. The rep who conducted my "check out" said she had never seen a property so well taken care of and with absolutely no damages or wear-and-tear after two years - but it still took SIX WEEKS to get my sizeable deposit back. Beware of this if you are going to need your deposit for another rental property. During the six weeks' wait to receive my deposit, I found the staff rude, unhelpful, and frequently uncontactable. I will never deal with this agency again, and I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

Avoid chase Evans at all costs, the staff there are blood sucking cowboys who are just trying to extract as much money as possible very their tenants whilst providing as little assistance as possible. If you have an issues with the flat then expect to wait a long time to have problems sorted, waited 3 weeks for them to fix the hot water/heating. Every time you contact them they avoid your calls and don't respond to emails. When you finally do get through to them they are rude and incompetent and feed you a pack of lies. They treat you like their best friend and customer until the contract is signed and then they don't want to know you, unless of course you withhold a rent payment and then they come out of the wood work and are all over you. Save yourself the hassle and go with a more professional agency, it's not worth the stress. read more

I don't know what you're talking about. What history? How long have you known Chase Evans for. I moved into a property let by them and they have been exceptional. Yes their range of flats are good and very convenient. It was quite a smooth transition. Their service was really good and easy to understand. Maybe it was back in 2011 but i moved in 3 months ago. i don't think you should be making comments like that even if it was the worst customer experience you have every had. read more

This is my 3rd time renting with Chase Evans now and I must say it won't be the last, This agency tends to have far more properties to choose from than most others in the area, their staff and fully competent to answer any questions and have a good knowledge about each property that show, I used to live with a friend when we relocated for work and not be accustom to the UK way of renting it was very nice to have a straight forward process Chase Evans, all that was needed to do was hand in two forms of ID and fill in a reference form which they collected the references. My partner who I have now moved in with said that she has rented with different agents for years and feels that this company provides the best service, she wont recommend anyone else to friends and work colleagues. read more
