THE BLACK AND WHITE: I wanted to apply for the Chase Sapphire Reserve card and the online promotion ended...however they were extending the offer until March for in store application. The closest Chase branch to me is in Trenton, New Jersey (I'm from DC). The shopping center is nice, however getting there is tricky as there is one entrance and it's from the South Clinton Ave side. Parking is ample though and the shopping center is nice. Service was great. I had Chelsie and she was nice and cordial about the application process. If there were any difficulties, it was always escalated to a manager through the phone...which seamlessly took minutes to solve. THE FINAL BAMBOO: I had a great experience at this Chase Branch. The only caveats are the limited employee resources. ATM onsite and usually a single teller/representative working at all times.

It is in a heavily urban location, with very little changed since the ATMs were put in twenty years ago. The floor plan is drab and dated compared to the suburban branches, and that says something about corporate image and vision. Still, there is a small parking lot in the back, and both entrances on Liberty and Broad have the ATMs in the small lobbies. There is no drive up option. When one was being monopolized by a single customer for a long time, I finally realized there was another on the other side of the building and walked through the main hall to get there quickly. This facility is not a pleasant place to come for business, but it was the most convenient branch to my office. The ATMs work just fine.

Unfortunately after 5 years of holding a checking account with them I got a letter in the mail saying they were closing my account..... no reason, no explanation. Around here, at least, they seem to look for the least expensive buildings available and make only minimal investment in making their customers and their employees comfortable. Officers without offices. Low heat in the branches. Minimalist decoration. Maybe this makes people bank more quickly? I don't know, but it seems too austere. Yet, they know how to open accounts, take deposits and take care of basic business banking. My new accounts were up and running within 24 hours. Ordered checks arrived in about a week. Hooked me up with ADP for payroll services. This particular location is the second closest to my new office, and the closest with parking for ease of use. Friendly folks, but I was the only customer at 2:00 pm on the last day of the month. Plenty of personalized attention, for sure. But, I just hope I'm not the only customer. The hard surfaces echoed our private conversation at the teller's station into a public address announcement. Let's see how it goes. Really good fried chicken joint right across the street!

We use this bank for work, and as the last month wore on, we've had a lot of trouble, without…read moreresolution. We were told to take advantage of their online banking to manage our accounts, but have been locked out -- for no apparent reason -- of the service 2 of the 3 times I've logged in, which necessitated a call to customer service with a 10+ minute wait time. I've had to go into the bank on 3 occasions to work out kinks, and each visit lasts on average, 90 minutes. It turns out each bank has strengths and weaknesses, and the staff at the local office told me last week they really can't do what we need them to do (business escrow service), and I appreciate their candor, and have no problem with the people I've deal with face-to-face. But I have no idea why they told us up front they could do what we need; AND to be turned over to the impersonal call-this-toll-free-number-for-help is frustrating. Maybe this bank is a-ok if you use them for your personal accounts, but for small business, there are better banks for sure.
