Went in to try and change my beneficiaries for my checking and savings but they had no one available to help me do a simple 5-10 service. Asked a lady that was sitting at her desk if she can help and she said latest is next week. I told her it's fine i'll just go to another branch and she gave me a weird response of "OhhhHhhhhh Kayyyyyyy." I don't recommend this branch. These new younger people working in here need more professional customer services like Diana that has been working at this brach for years is very professional. Chase bank is absolutely the worst bank on the face of this planet. If you have a large amount of money that you want to try to transfer somewhere, or try to wire somewhere, forget it, they will block it. Once they block it, it would be an act of Congress to get them to unblock it. It doesn't matter what you threaten them with, doesn't matter if you'd bring a lawyer with you, doesn't matter if you threaten with the OCC, they will not unblock it. It's like talking to robot, no emotion, no logic, nothing. They have blocked my money for over 10 days now, it won't let me access it. WARNING FOR THE ELDERLY! Elder abuse with their credit card service. If ever injured and you are placed in an assisted living, they will not change your address no matter how many tones you call. At this branch it is a miracle if someone answers the phone. If you are lucky enough to get your call answered, it is very likely that you will receive bad information. Over the past year on 3 occasions I have called in (after many many attempts reached someone) and then scheduled an appointment only to show up and the appointment had not actually been scheduled, or the banker was not in that day. read more

First of all I should note that I never chose to bank with Chase. I was originally with Home Savings of America who of course got bought up by Washington Mutual and then taken over by Chase. I loved Home Savings. Many perks and outstanding customer service. In the transition to WaMu and recently Chase, things just kept going downhill. At their very best, Chase is a mediocre bank. And today was the final straw. I recently got married and wanted to add my wife to my account. I thought this would be easy, but I had forgotten that it had been set up as joint account with my mother many years ago. So I went down to the nearest location to my house in Los Angeles. There I was told that both parties must be present. Given that my parents live over two hundred miles away, not such an easy thing. So, the misses and I planned a weekend trip to Paso Robles where we gathered the parents and headed down to the one and only Chase branch in the area. We didn't have an appointment and given that it was a Saturday, we already knew it could be a few minutes before we could speak with someone to get our little issue taken care of. We were told that it would be fifteen to twenty minutes. About that much time passed when the assistant branch manager told us that it would be at least another fifteen to twenty minutes before we could speak with someone and bluntly stated that we really should have made an appointment. I did not take this well and I called her out on the rudeness of her statement. I don't know what her idea of customer service is, but she made it clear that she did not see how she was being rude. That was the moment I made up my mind. I am done with Chase (and so are my parents). I will be shopping for another bank or credit union. I will not leave my money with people who don't understand basic customer service. The funny part in all of this: My mother does not need to be present in order for me to close the joint account. At least one thing will end up working in my favor. This is directed to the assistant branch manager-- You really shouldn't chew gum while speaking with customers. It is unprofessional and disrespectful. And you looked like a cow chewing on cud. read more

This bank has been nothing but great. They always try to exceed my expectations and they do. Helpful, pleasant and supportive are a few words to describe the bankers I've dealt with here. They try to help as best they can given so many banking regulations, so even if they can't complete your entire request - they do their best to meet you halfway. read more

Terrible customer service !!! I went to cash a check and before the teller heard what I wanted, she started shaking her head! I asked her if I could cash the check and she asked if I was a customer, I said no, but I have my company credentials just in case. She got her manager, who asked the same thing, I told her i just needed to cash the check but I'm happy to open an acct if necessary, she said "well, we wouldn't want you to simply open an acct & dep your check if you're just going to take it out anyway". I said, my cpa actually wants me to open a special acct just to pay my taxes anyway, so I'm happy to do that. She said, well, it looks like our new acct prep might be busy, let me see if we can fit you in. She looked it up and told me I couldn't open my acct till the next day! WHAT? 1st of all, I should have been able to cash the check, it was their bank! I had all my credentials, 2ndly, I thought they were in the banking business! Don't they want my money? I have banked with Chase for probably 20 years. I opened a second new credit card and was having on line problems and was told to go to my local branch. Diane (front agent) gave Donelle (Private Client Banker) a heads up which we appreciated. He was so patient: solved the problem until the end. Didn't send me home to get more documents, didn't send me home and tell me to call back the on line banking, didn't send me home to add the account myself. Did it all with me there. Took an hour. Unfortunately, we were forced to travel to this branch from Atascadero, because the Atascadero location didn't have enough funds for us to withdraw from our account. After arriving and explaining what we needed, the customer service rep, Anaya, was unsure of how to proceed. She sought the assistance of a co-worker (no name badge, dressed differently than Anaya, taller, thicker than Anaya, and very rude!) who was very curt with her misinformation (she stated that they can't legally give out over $10,000 in a day to customers, to which I responded: "Legally, yes you can... It's my money.") Finally, after another approval by a man (Joseph) Anaya was able to complete our transaction. In short, Anaya was extremely helpful and apologetic to us regarding our altered plans and inconvenience. The other woman, however, should be required to take some classes on customer service and communication. She is the sole reason why will will not be returning to this location nor referring anyone else to visit here. read more

Unbelievable! I was with WaMu for 7 years before they switched to Chase. I was always able to cash my check the day of without any issue whatsoever. Then, it happened...I brought my check in to cash and I was informed that I would have to wait twenty-four hours before I would have access to the money. What! I was informed by Rose, a long time employee for the bank, that it was a new policy Chase implemented. I was appalled. Why would a bank need to hold on to my check from the state? I was told they needed to verify the funds before releasing it. However, I knew the real reason for holding on to the funds was to their benefit....to make any additional money off of the interest. I closed my account immediately. This was also after we re-financed our home with WaMu and was told (by Rose) we would be able to consolidate and refi again in six months. When I went back into to speak to her, she told me we could not refi at this time but to come back in a couple more months. This bank is unethical to say the least and I suggest anyone banking with them to close their accounts and bank elsewhere. read more

Well, I have not had a problem with the 2-3 times I've been to the Chase in Paso Robles, but the small branch in Atascadero has got to be WORST! The customer service is HORRIBLE! I added my husband to my account the other day, he had my debit card in his wallet since I left my purse in the car, the "manager" told me she couuld confiscate it since I am not allowed to give my debit card to anyone, She continued to say that if there was ever fraud on my account, that they would not cover it since I let my husband carry my card for me! My husband told her no one knows, she said she just saw it, I told her to make note of it in my account! So rude!! My sister went in the other day to make a deposit, not a withdrawl, just a deposit, since her drivers license was expired the day beofre, they told her they couldnt take her deposit!???? One day expiration and they wont take her money? Idiots!!!! We will look for another bank, They are rude and unprofessional. read more

I was a customer here for years. I received a letter that my account was going to be closed and they didn't have to tell me why! I was also told that I had until the 20th. Well trying to arrange auto drafts is kinda hard so I started right away and talked to the manager who told me she would take care of my fees if incurred! Well she went on vacation and the bank auto drew my account and paid these items because they said they were memberships not auto drafts. If your closing my account why would you pay stuff and charge me when I didn't even have over draft protection? I filed a complaint and continued to be charged $6.99 per day thinking when the manager returned she would do what she said and take care of it but that did not happen! Everyone plays dumb! I had a total of $200 in fees and put the money in only to receive a email that my account was over drawn and short another $64 bucks for 2 other fees that came through! There's a couple good people that work there but it's not their fault the company sucks! If you want to bank at a place that funded Nazis this is your place! All bad things happen for a good reason though I got a account at credit union and love it! Feel bad for the good people there that work for such a crappy company! read more

they are rude and racist , the other day i decided to send my mother money and since she live in san diego,ca i decided to just deposit the money into her account which was the easier way to go, well i told my husband to please go into the bank and deposit it into her account for me while i did a quick run to walmart it turns out that she had another bank account at another bank and didnt have that one anymore so of course they couldnt find her in the system and the manager went up to my husband and said "hmm this looks suspicious" not only that ever since my husband went into the bank he had all eyes on him like he was a criminal or something ( he is african american) its just sad to see how people are so prejudice now a days especially at a job like that , i was thinking about opening an account there but after that experience i decided not to anymore. read more
