Prior to submitting the final payment, I explicitly called customer service to ask how long it would take to receive my clear title, as I am relocating to Spain and need the physical title to ship my vehicle. Based on the advice provided by their team, I processed the final payment on August 19 directly from my Redwood Credit Union checking account. When I called today to check on the status, I was informed that my payment had been placed on a 9-business-day "hold" to ensure it cleared--despite the funds originating internally from my own RCU checking account. To make matters worse, I was then told it would take an additional 4 to 6 weeks from today just to receive the title. People rely on precise, accurate timing when managing major financial and logistical matters--not vague excuses and empty apologies after the fact. Because RCU provided inaccurate information upfront and mishandled the internal processing, my vehicle cannot depart as scheduled tomorrow. I am now forced to cancel and reschedule international shipping at the last minute, incurring substantial additional costs. RCU's severe lack of accuracy and accountability has put me in a major operational bind, completely destroying the trust built over nearly two decades.

They assured me that YES, all taken care of. Imagine my surprise when I got a letter from COLLECTIONS that I owed a balance of $35.95, that they couldn't get a hold of me, (are you kidding? You had my account, my phone number, and info from my two personal accounts) and I now owed $135 (an additional $100 for the collections fee). After numerous attempts on the phone (which took hours) I went to the bank last week, and the banker said they couldn't help me at the time; I would need to make an appointment with a banker for the following week and to keep calling the number on the letter in the meantime. Tried again that afternoon from home, and after another hour, got nowhere. Went into the bank today, and after an hour and 15 minutes on hold with a banker, and consistently being forwarded to another number/department of B of A, I am still NOWHERE. Came home with a new phone number to call, called it...and they are closed for the day. To add insult to injury I thought to just pay the amount to get behind me, and tried to use the QR code to pay it on my phone. Guess what...the QR code leads to a web page with the message "This site can't be reached.... app.pymts.net's server IP address could not be found." Are you effing kidding me???? I have an account here in good standing the last 5 years, decent credit and i will be taking that elsewhere. JP morgan and chase napa are horrible. I forgot to mention they only have one ATM outside that's always broken, jammed or empty. Inadequate and a few weekends ago every chase atm in the area. South napa atm, north napa, and st helena was wiped out and or broken. Their mgmt said SORRY people stuff junk or wrinked bills inside and jam the machine. What a mess. they should cut back on some of their execs and invest more in their branches, atms, and CUSTOMERS. Mgmt says they been asking to renovate for ten years no funds or resources available. Seriously they could cut just 1 of their execs private jet, luxury hotel trips and get it done for us common folks. But they dont care. Im going to bank elsewhere.

An update to my original review:…read more After my initial review, and comment from a "Business Manager". I asked Golden 1 to have an actual person contact me to discuss my concerns. Instead, I received yet another generic email that simply restated the same rigid policies that caused the problem in the first place. It appeared to be a canned response, offering no acknowledgment of my situation and no willingness to engage in a meaningful conversation. Rather than showing compassion or exercising reasonable flexibility, Golden 1 has chosen to hide behind inflexible policies. The combination of those policies and the complete lack of meaningful customer service has convinced me to move all of my mother's direct deposits to another financial institution. Once that process is complete, I will be closing her account. I hope Golden 1 eventually recognizes that families caring for incapacitated loved ones deserve better than automated responses and bureaucratic obstacles during one of the most difficult times of their lives.
