My latest fiasco was depositing checks and receiving a 6 business day hold. I received 3 exact checks from a trust. I deposited one in Wells Fargo where the next morning the check had already cleared. But TD placed a 6 day hold on each check. I then sent 4-5 emails within the next couple of days. The first email accidentally went to TD Canada. Rather than forward my email to the appropriate area, they replied with their toll-free# and a different email address. So I emailed that other address, and their reply was contact the toll free#. wow! I then sent an email to the CEO, Bharat Masrani and another exec. Never heard back. And finally, I received some other email where they referred me to "secure messages" within my TD app. After signing on, all it was, was a form letter BS with the same 800#. So i went into my local branch and the young man took my info, didn't promise me anything, and said I should get a phone call with a decision by the end of the day.

In addition I went online and locked the card on their website. When I know I'm going to get cash out I can unlock it and then lock it back so it's not in use. I've set every form of account notification also. So let my hardship be a lesson to you. And let me say this review is for the location in New Jersey that headquarters my branch. The branch manager gave me the address and it's on the letter they sent to me. One last message regarding TD is that if they mess up in any way I am moving my business to Capital One. This seemed like way to long of a wait so I called the bank to check on them. Turns out they have my address correct in the system but when they generated the checks they generated the wrong address and they were sent and delivered to the wrong place! Super worried about who has them now so I'll be keeping an eye on my account. The woman on the phone was super nice and is expediting me new checks but that doesn't change the fact that some random person could now have access to my account.

They get you in acting like you're going to get a low interest rate on your car loans, they tell you interest rates from like 3.5% of 17% however they can't even tell you what criteria needs to be for what bracket of interest rates. Technically you could have perfect credit and you can meet all the criteria and still get 17 percent interest rate if that's what they want to give you. It is a scam. Stay away from them. They lure you in on false pretense and then can't answer any questions which as a financial Institute they should be able to answer all questions. A car salesman could answer more questions about finance than their own financial institution can answer. They lost my business on that. Could've made a lot of money off my loan, I've been with the banks and their credit cards for over 15 years, I have a personal relationship with finance as well. So this leads me to believe that they have under trained staff. Ignorance is no excuse. For anyone who's reading this, in case you are unaware, as many people are, when they run your credit if you decide to not take out a loan with them, it will drop your credit by 20+ points. If you don't take the loan, it looks like you've got denied. Therefore them not being able to answer your questions properly could result in you dropping into a credit score bracket that you won't be able to get lower interest rates because they suckered you in. If you want to Bank with them, they aren't so bad they have benefits other banks don't have. But it comes the cost because there's only one location in the entire state of New Jersey.
