So I did some research to find "the best credit union in Arizona" and after everything I've seen, OneAZ topped most lists. So I finally had the time and took the time to stop in to this branch. Well I walked in and, being in the service industry, the first thing I noticed was that most of the lights (all of the lights in the actual lobby and customer area) were off. Now I don't know about anyone else, but the impression I get when I see that is a place that is broke. And don't come at me with the whole "saving electricity" crap because I believe the fixtures were LED and you can run LED's with a piece of fruit. So then I noticed there were, I wanna say, 8 windows? But all but one of the windows were void of CSR's and only one person was helping people. Now I'm standing there at 1:45 in the afternoon on a Thursday waiting on this one CSR when another customer arrived. Now I get it, I legitimately waited between 5 and 10 minutes, which doesn't seem like a lot, but when it's taken me about a month since my decision to even find any time to get in there? 5 to 10 minutes is a long time. I only even saw one other employee in the bank at all and she was in a little office on the phone. I decided I didn't want to take a chance that if I ever needed help, I would be placed on hold standing in the lobby so I turned and headed to the door. The CSR that WAS working must have finished with the person he was working with because he yelled to me as I was hitting the door that he could help me now. Needless to say, I just kept walking and also needless to say, I guess my search continues to find a new financial institute. Or maybe I just stay at Desert Financial because they seem to be the lesser of two evils.

Each time service has been friendly, efficient, and I have been out the door in 15 minutes or less. The tellers are pretty nice and shout "Hello" from behind the counter to ceiling safety glass as people walk through the door. The first time I went in the teller wasn't able to help me so I had to wait for a banker which was no problem. He did point out that I was paying a monthly fee that I shouldn't be and suggested that I have the banker look into it. The teller gave my kids some dum-dums while we waited. We met with Jessica and she was able to help with what I originally came in for and then looked into the unnecessary fees. I was being charged because my account was actually an old Wachovia account and when they were acquired by Wells Fargo that fee just stuck around. She suggested I open a new account and she gave me back 5 months of this fee that I was paying.

I forget the name of the person who helped me, but yesterday 4/28, I was doing a deposit/change run for a business. The business account is with Chase, so that's where I dropped the deposit and tried getting change. I forgot to write down the account #, so they wouldn't give me change over $100, which I get is policy, but the guy at Chase was rude and had attitude. NEVER at Wells Fargo do I get spoken to how I do at other financial institutions! I left frustrated, because it was 4:50pm and I NEEDED change for the business, so I tried speeding to Wells, my personal bank before they closed (which I HATE doing). I made it 1 min before close, and I forget the name of the person who helped me, but they were they were so welcoming and friendly right off the bat. I apologized for coming late, and he assured me there was nothing to worry about and he'd love to help me with my transaction. Had such teddy bear energy, and a lovely cream sweater, looked and acted very professional and courteous! We got it taken care of and had a nice chat, SO much better than the vibes I felt at Chase. It may seem like a simple instance, or an easy transaction, but the relief I felt in that moment as he helped me with my issues with the upmost care and respect is what makes me stay with you guys.
