Much like another reviewer, I cannot believe the STUPIDITY at this bank and the lack of compassion. My dad had passed away in 2019 from a heart attack suddenly. Not even a week after, I had called the bank to inform them because he was listed as an "authorized user" on my account. Obviously a week after he had passed, my family didn't receive a certified death certificate until months later, which I was informed was required. During that time, I didn't even live in the state of NJ and I've actually never gone to this branch (I've always gone to the Morris Plains branch), so I was surprised yesterday when I had received a call from a "Jennifer" from the Denville branch - she had left a voicemail. That's where the problem began. I had called back immediately and I didn't realize it would take me 15 minutes and a lot of frustration just to get a live representative on the phone with all of the prompts. When I finally did, I told the woman I had received a phone call from a woman named "Jennifer". She told me there was no one by that name... now I'm thinking maybe it was fraudulent? So I said well I received a call from XYZ phone number and she said "oh that's (insert her name here which I couldn't understand)". I get a hold of the woman who had called and she asked if I had a better phone number for (my dad) because they've tried him several times and he hadn't picked up because they have a "special promotion" for him... I told the woman on the phone he hasn't pick up BECAUSE HES 6 FEET OVER IN AN URN AT MY MOMS HOUSE! What really blows my mind is that he had MULTIPLE accounts with Chase that my mom had to close/reassign to herself, and she's provided a certified death certificate to do that... I have no idea how it hasn't translated over to my account but the lack of compassion was just pathetic. Obviously I laughed out loud at the woman when I gave my answer because it's been 4 years since his passing and they had the audacity to call me and use my information on MY account to get a phone number for him. Somethings not right there... If I could recommend a branch to bank at, the Morris Plains Chase bank is very nice. read more

We have banked here for as long as this branch has been in business. The location is convenient. They have a large parking lot with two entrances and exits - always helpful in busy Denville. Their ATM has been reliable and working about 99% of the time. We have checking and savings accounts here plus we also moved our IRA accounts here when we retired, largely because of their in house investment expert. Our financial advisor, Scott, is smart, energetic and conservative with his advice. He asks good questions and tailors his investment advice to balance growth, safety and the level of risk we are comfortable having. He has helped us, a pair of investment novices, learn and carefully manage our retirement funds. The customer service agent, Anita, is responsive to questions and works hard to keep our business. She is a gem and I hope is compensated properly for her efforts. Banks, especially big banks, can be impersonal and overpowering. Despite their size, the Denville branch of Chase behaves like a responsive local bank. Recommended. read more

Chase Bank - Renovated recently. Looks good. - Banks & Credit Unions Near Me - Denville, New Jersey

I have been a Chase customer for years and I have NEVER had a bad experience with any branch, except this one. The drive-thru ATM at the Denville, NJ location always seems to have some kind of issue. Today I tried to deposit a combination of checks and cash and the ATM rejected it. This is not the first time this has happened. I really hope this location puts the new ATM in its drive-thru. Also this location doesn't have a walk-in ATM either like most Chase Locations. read more

So I go in with cash to deposit in to my girl friends account and the teller tells me she can not take it. I ask since when? She replies as long as I can remember. I tell her I have done it before and being older my memoir is longer. I turn and leave to get a check and come back. The same teller ask for an apology. I can not believe this kid!!! I told her if her feelings were hurt she is way to sensitive and needs to grow up. She says she was trying to help and I insulted her. Because I questioned her, give me a break. read more

I hate banks, I really do.. For the past 25 years or so I've been been using a Credit union in Tampa. I wanted to get a local account and started one at WAMU, when Chase bought them I thought "here we go big bank big issues" I do mostly online banking but when I do need to actually go into the bank it's like going to a friends house.. Sat around for 40 before banker asks what I need. Another 20 minutes to get a simple wire transfer. Horrible customer service.
