Paige and Matt are great and always make an effort to wave or come on over to say hello when we go in.

I must say as a former bank branch employee myself locally here in San Diego this was the most…read moreoffensive and awful experience I have ever witnessed in any bank I have ever stepped foot in. The banker who I had made an appointment with was great and more than helpful beyond my expectations, and the teller I spoke with prior to was more than happy to accommodate and recognize my general banking needs. However, the man who approached me in the branch (possibly Anthony?) was not only at first intimidating (when I really wanted nothing to do with him because I had a specific appointment with one individual and did not care to share my information with him, at all, and just by the vibe he was presenting) telling me to easily just call the 800# on the back of the credit card I have and dismiss me.... The main reason I came to the branch was because the 800# could never either understand or care to listen to my concern in the first place. Having worked in a bank branch myself for years, again... (I fully understand the stress that bankers and tellers are under to perform and how impossible their goals may seem to be to obtain) so my heart goes out to the lovely banker who took the time to actually listened to me and addressed my concerns appropriately. HOWEVER, I HAVE NEVER IN ALL MY DAYS EVER BEEN YELLED AT BY A BANK EMPLOYEE IN PUBLIC OUTSIDE OF THE BRANCH THAT I PURPOSELY WANTED NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT "I WAS DONE!" among god knows what else he was yelling about which I cannot hear because I am partially deaf. I simply wanted to give the banker enough time to research the already dreadful situation and respected her time and thoughtful process to look into it on her own. After having been yelled at in public by I am guessing Anthony? I re-entered the branch only to have him him YELL AT ME MORE ABOUT MY AFFAIRS THAT HE SHOULD KNOW NOTHING ABOUT AND I DID NOT SHARE WITH HIM. In his hatred and tirade of verbal abuse I asked, "so does Chase bank really want to destroy me financially?" Which he then confirmed hiding from his desk two doors down and unable to address me as a person said "YES," and then thoroughly told me to get lost. The 1 star goes directly to Anthony for showing no respect or decency, being completely RUDE and NOT respecting any customer privacy, if I could give him negative a million stars I would. I also see that on his U4 he has a judgment against him for failure to pay HOA/mortgage and was probably foreclosed on in the past. Good for him to show any respect for any person that walks in off the street. If Anthony or whoever that person was would like to speak to me I am sure he knows how to find me. I never authorized him to view any of my info or to work with me in any way. I do business in that shopping center 5 days a week, live up the street, and work with many local business owners, and know enough of Chase Mortgage brokers in SoCal, and know enough people who work at 270 park ave NY, NY close enough to Jamie to point this out to them. Thank you to the banker who actually helped me, she deserves a promotion, and I am sorry you have to work with such a disrespectful coworker right next to you. If his behavior today is in some way rewarded by management I highly encourage you to look for other job opportunities. I will be sure to let my friends know how toxic and caustic an environment this particular branch is up and down poinsettia going forward and how helpful only one banker really is, as I work in good faith with the one employee and the support she gave me faithfully and politely trying to help me in between this Neanderthals' barking.

Pointless inefficient company. I forgot when I applied for a card that I had put a freeze on a…read morecredit report. It should be a simple enough process to fix. I got the notice via email and then went ahead and unfroze the account. However, there's no way to notify Chase online (via a messaging/email system, there's no account portal set up for applications only). Instead, I had to get a letter in the mail telling me about this again (after being notified on email but with no further instructions). The only way to get the credit report pulled at all is to call. For some bizarre reason, this took talking to 4 people (before I gave up and hung up while on another long hold). The first person had to transfer me because 'technical errors' were preventing him from doing his 1 job. He verified my identity through multiple ways: SSN and text a code. Then of course the next person he transferred me to had to do the same thing, despite him talking to her first and explaining the situation. She said they would pull the credit report now, but for some unknown reason (I couldn't really understand her accent), I had to be transferred to another person as well. That other person again made me verify my ID via these multiple ways. She then told me my application was under review but that I'd again have to talk to another person for an unknown reason (not one I could understand either). That person repeated the same process and put me on a long hold to I guess talk to another person for who knows what reason?? I just gave up and hung up at the 15 minute mark, since presumably they were able to run my credit check again now and I had no clue what I was still doing on the phone. And even if they reject my application for whatever mystery reason I still needed to be on the phone and talk with so many different people, I don't care because a company who operates this way is not worth doing business with. I don't understand why a company would operate in such an inefficient manner where they employ 5 people to do the job of 0-1 people and waste so much resources - money on phone lines etc - though I bet they are all poor "independent contractors" who have to pay out of their own pocket for that - probably why chase doesn't care about being so inefficient and wasting customers' time in the process.
