I opted for the fork-tender Chicken Marsala, a crisp Caesar salad, yummy carrot cake with whipped cream, fresh assorted berries with a top drizzle of caramel sauce for the cake, a side of vanilla ice cream, then Earl Grey tea. A wine menu is available. Servers were prompt, polite, helpful and enthusiastic. There are weekly specials as well. I can't say enough good things about this place, how effectively it is managed by Adrienne West and her team, how beautifully decorated . . . and how I'm treated like family although I'm the "daughter". The care team was excellent and supported my mom well past the time other places might have suggested she go into a nursing home with her Alzheimers. And to add to that - I live in California and they were constantly in touch with me to keep me in touch with anything and everything going on with my mom, far beyond their responsibility as a retirement home - because its NOT a nursing home. Working in the activities department and with management, they have helped me grow and learn. This experience working with Applewood has been nothing but educational and wonderful. Working with the residents I have heard great things and I know that the staff is focused on the satisfaction of the residents and that takes priority over everything else. Everyone here works hard to make sure their residents are treated with the utmost respect and make sure that they are comfortable. Being here is like being a part of a family, and even in my short time here I feel as though I am part of the community and family they have built here. This is a retirement home, not a nursing home and therefore, I do not expect nursing care. The home is for fairly healthy people who do not want the hassle of a large home with its maintenance and upkeep. Prices are in line with other homes of this type. One of the most important considerations was my elderly dog, which I was allowed to keep. There are a few animals here and it's nice to have them. The activities are numerous and the choice is yours as to how much or how little you wish to join them. If you are thinking that it's time to shrug off the responsibilities of home ownership and enjoy the remaining years of life, I would recommend that you consider The Court at Brooklin.

They do not offer assisted living at the level she needs but the director tried to say they could. She can't afford a private PSW 25/7!!! This is her life and health we are talking about, I was very upset that they tried to argue doctors assessments!! There is only ONE elevator and be prepared to pay movers extra as they do not accommodate moving out as much as they do in? sad that leaving has left a bitter taste in our mouth. During a hard time we would expect them to be more compassionate and understand of my moms health and well being! My mother did make wonderful Friends there, she will miss them dearly but she will be safer at a proper private assisted living facility that offers 24/7 nursing and psw care at a price she can afford
