Last minute fishing trip for a bachelor party weekend. The temps were a little cool, but Rewind did not disappoint! Excellent crew, great fishing expertise, great conversation, all around a fun day! We had people who had never fished to people who have fished all over the world, abs everyone had a great time! We will definitely be going back - thanks for a great day gentlemen!! read more

Brutal trip. Spent half the time with no lines in the water or catching bait fish. We weren't sure why that was until the Captain openly and not prompted admitted to the individual paying for the trip that he had intentionally sabotaged the trip. Apparently he got frustrated in the beginning because we asked if we could skip catching bait fish and instead go purchase them to save time for the important part, catching the 'Real' Fish. This all added up when we were back and every other boats catch made ours look ridiculously insignificant. I'm in the service industry and that admitted act has blown my mind so much so that I feel it necessary to write my first review ever - for the greater good. My advice if you do so happen to end up with Captain Reid is to make sure you don't ask him for anything that deviates from 'his plan' as he has the emotional maturity of a 2nd grader, the integrity of Hillary Clinton, the bitterness of Nancy Pelosi, and clearly will short-change you with malice at the flip of a hat. I feel I need to add something positive, the Deck Hand Dillon was as phenomenal as the Captain was deplorable. read more

During spring break, our family booked a six-hour fishing trip on The Rewind in Destin, FL. There were five of us total (including my two young boys 13 and 9). Without a doubt, this trip was one of the highlights of our spring break! From start to finish, Captain Reid and his crew treated us with professionalism and hospitality. The mates and deck-hands were knowledgeable and polite. Being that our family isn't familiar with boating, I really appreciated how the crew guided us through the ins and outs of boating safety. During this time the crew showed us how to safely climb up the flybridge and all the way up to the tuna tower. For my boys, being up there became a real highlight of the experience. Once it was time to begin fishing; Captain Reid and the crew never skipped a beat. We quickly had poles in hand everything was ready to go! The mates were always on available and ready to do anything they could for us (baiting our hooks, taking the fish off etc.) I loved that these guys not only had our fishing poles going, but they also threw in multiple other lines. Once those lines got a bite, they handed them right over to us. This ensured my family plenty of non-stop fishing action! Finally, when it was time to start heading back, the crew quickly cleaned up the equipment and washed down the boat. That was really nice because we were able to enjoy a clean and beautiful ride back into the harbor. As you can see, we thoroughly enjoyed this experience. I can say, without hesitation, The Rewind is definitely the way to go for a carefree family fishing experience. read more

Charter Boat Rewind - Fishing Near Me - Destin, Florida

It doesn't get any better than Capt Reid and Billy on the Rewind. Big fish and plenty of them. Amberjack, almaco, vermilion snapper, red snapper, trigger fish, black tip. (Had to throw the red snapper and trigger fish back.. out of season). Eight hours of action. Reid keeps you on the fish and Billy keeps you in the water. So much fun. We'll do it again read more

Captain Reid Phillips got us to the fishing spots quickly and was very friendly. He kept us on the fish all trip long. The boat was neat and clean and also included AC which was very refreshing. Captain Reid was also very accommodating on the boat and made everything very comfortable, letting us roam as we pleased. First mate Aaron was awesome! He catered to our every need, and was super patient with us first-timers. He was also incredibly knowledgeable and efficiently kept our hooks baited. Everything was organized, we got maximum fishing time, and the trip went very smoothly. Would definitely recommend charter boat Rewind if you're in the Destin, Fl area! read more

As an avid/regular party boat fisherman out of Destin for the past seven years, Captain Reid has always been my "go to" captain. As a general rule, I will fish three times a week throughout the year and every day in October (well over 150 times a year). This qualifies me to speak with some authority as to Captain Reid's abilities. Consistently, he has placed his customers on quality fish and VERY respectful stringers at the end of the day (not an easy feat when you have up to 42 customers on any given day). With Captain Reid's tutoring I have always had at least one award for the yearly Destin Fishing Rodeo and in 2015 (the same year he was awarded "Partyboat Captain of the Year") I weighed in two first place awards and three second place awards (with all the fish being caught with Captain Reid at the helm). I have seen the management of his staff and vessel which I would have to say "he runs a tight ship". I was recently lucky enough to charter Captain Reid and his new boat "Rewind" for a special trip on the 10th of March 2017. This trip was special to me on multiple levels. It was the first charter for "Rewind" and the trip was for a special house guest/long-time friend whom I wanted to ensure had a GREAT time. I was not disappointed and all my expectations were met and/or exceeded. My only request to Captain Reid for the trip was "let's have some fun". Reid managed to put us on a whole variety of fish on this trip. From the standard fare (but of extremely good size) Vermillion Snapper, White Snapper, Lane Snapper, Red Snapper (unfortunately out of season because a couple of them were well over 20# size), Amberjacks (also called "reef donkeys" and there is a reason they are called that), groupers in the Scamp and Gag family along with sharks. Perhaps the highlight of the trip for me was to see my friend/house guest battle a shark that weight on/around 150#. I know it's not nice to take joy of seeing a grown man go down on his knees while holding a fishing rod that is bent over almost 180 degrees but I was hoping for some long-time memories to be set for this trip and that mission was accomplished. There is little doubt that Captain Reid has transitioned and applied his knowledge from being a Partyboat captain to his new venture of a "six pack" captain. Even though I only treat myself to a "six pack" trip about twice a year, I have now a "go to" Captain and boat that would be my boat of choice. read more

We went on Rewind during our vacation over the July 4th weekend. I can not say enough good things about this experience. The first question I had was, "Do you have a girly potty?" The answer was YES and a nice one at that, I may add. Captian Reid put us right on top of the fish and we had an amazing day. The deck hand, Aaron, did a fantastic job! He was right on top of everything helping us every step of the way. In our group of 5, only 1 of us had any experience with deep sea fishing, but after this I want to go again. When I go back I will look up Rewind! Exceptional experience and we caught some amazing fish. 41 all together including a Wahoo. read more

Our week long vacation in Destin as a family during the Spring Break of 2013 was a first for us to the area. As Dad, I thought going on a fishing trip (also a family first) was a must, although the kids were the LEAST excited about that activity of everything planned. The trip with Cap't Stan and his equally able and friendly mate on board the Charter Boat "Sea Winder" was such a hit and so well done that everyone said that was the BEST activity amongst many great ones that week. We didn't catch the biggest fish, but we caught a lot and had a great time. The mate said, "This isn't fishing, this is catching" and we all agreed. Thanks Crew for making this a great trip for me, my wife, and son (18), and daughters (14 and 12). The Graham Family - Houston, TX read more

A friend of mine arranged for a fishing charter for me while I was visiting Destin, Fl. I have been on a variety of fishing charters in my lifetime but this one was, by far, the most exciting fishing charter I have every participated in. The boat was extremely clean and well apportioned but more importantly Captain Reid's years of fishing experience quickly came into play. He knew exactly where to go to get our live bait, he was well versed on where all the best fishing "hot spots" were and he kept the lines busy at all times. Whenever the fishing slowed down in one spot, Captain Reid pulled up anchor and headed on to the next hot spot. I have never caught the number of fish, the variety of fish (to include a 5 foot shark that we decided to let go) or had my pole bend to the point of breaking like I did on this charter. If you want a fishing experience that you will be talking about for years to come this is the charter you need to go on. read more
