We had the curried chicken, oxtail, jerk chicken, curried goat and curry chicken roti. We ordered over the phone but then had to order again when we arrived because she got busy and didn't prepare anything. The portion sizes were huge and the food was really tasty. I was in the area last month and wanted Jamaican food and found Charms Jerk Hut. The outside needs a little work, but I must say that the food is authentic and has a lot of flavor. I am Pescatarian and had the roti with curry potatoes. The roti was a little dry, but the potatoes had a great flavor. My boyfriend ordered rice with oxtails and a side of sweet plantains, so I tried some his rice and sweet plantains. I must say that it was delicious. The downside of the restaurant is the food service. They took so long to serve the food. One of my favorite things about Jamaica is the jerk chicken. Hell, it's probably one of the main reasons to visit an extremely beautiful country. The taste here takes me back to the Caribbean. The meat is extremely well seasoned, and blends well with the rice. Definitely recommend the gravy if you're not able to handle a spicier palate. Overall I would rate my experience here a C- . The food was very plain and no flavour. They didn't have half the menu ready for when I was there at 2pm. As well the staff wasn't very friendly and they seemed so upset when I didn't tip, I mean I ordered take out so I didn't feel I should of especially with the service. I passed this place so many times but went in recently. First, it's definitely not a sit down and eat place. The store is like a little shack on the side of the road -just like in the Caribbean, and I like it. If you're looking for 5* experience this is not the place for you.
