The scrub was surprisingly relaxing & I was like butter by the wrap. Veronica was extremely professional & has wonderful strong consistent pressure without pain. Spa facilities are wonderful. Dry & wet sauna, changing rooms & showers, lounge with a small reading library of books & magazines. If you're not a hotel guest, you can pay a little extra for use of the swimming pool & gym for the day. You can also walk around the hotel lobby & large gardens. I recommend just spending the day here. Next time I want to try the facial & hair treatments also.

Although not cheap, this has got to be the most luxurious spa I have ever been to, and I would definately recommend it for a special occasion, like a wedding or hen party. I did a facial treatment with their exclusive Rephase products and technology and the following week someone told me she could not believe i was in my late 30s, so I like to think that the facial played a role in this sudden youth, or perhaps the lady in question just needed glasses. In any case, the facial was relaxing and I do think my skin looks firmer as a result. The ambience at this 5* hotel is incredibly classy and the service is unbeatable. It is possible to purchase a day's access to the pool so that after the spa you can hang around here and in the verdant gardens, which really is an oasis in the middle of the city.

It's a tiny shop, very packed, highly touristy, and hard to get around but they sure have a bunch of options for handmade soaps, creams, parfums, and even additional items like brushes and combs. I see a bunch of people go crazy over this soap and fragrances, and it appears to be perfect for people who don't have allergies and can put any typical skincare chemicals on their skin. The best thing about this store, for me, was the staff. This woman went all over the store looking through ingredients to find the right chemical-free soap for me. The only one we found was on a shelf that was labeled 'organic all natural olive oil soap' without an ingredient list sticker on the soap like all the others so we took a chance and assumed it was chemical-free and natural. When I got home to use the soap, I thought it was the right choice because it didn't lather much, which I'm used to with my soaps. But once I started to wash my body with it, my skin was irritated and burned. They don't label all of their soaps and some of them lack ingredient labels. I think these soaps can work for many other people and they have a huge selection of soaps, creams, lotions, with wonderful parfum scents. If you have sensitive skin and are looking for REAL all natural soap without all those added chemicals (dimethicone, phenoxanol, methyl parabens, sodium laurel sulfate, etc.) this is NOT the place for you. It's easy for me to find it in the States, but I guess not here. My search continues! My advice for shoppers: know your skin and check ingredients. If there are no ingredients, skip it! My advice to the store: clearly label ALL products with ALL ingredients to save the customers the mystery and disappointment.

I have never purchased better quality products, her Calendula cream is sublime and works wonders on my skin. Her shop is full of wonders and excellent gifts too. In a perfect location, this is my go-to spot that I drop in first whenever I am in Florence to stock up on all my favorite creams, custom made treatments, bath gels and essential body oils. My good friends from Germany and the Philippines also do the same every time they are in Florence, this pharmacy is a treasure and should not be missed.

Last year's travel companion made me aware of this charming shop: In a women's mag, she had read…read moreabout the favourite locations of a walking clothes rack (aka top model). In Florence, that lady praised the Farmacia Münstermann which has been based there since 1897 (!). When you stop by, the tiny store comes across as a regular pharmacy. But there's more to it: They sell a large variety of self-made fragrances and skin care products whose preparation supposedly hasn't changed since the beginnings. Münstermann doesn't offer creative concoctions of the modernistic kind. They stick to puristic versions of proven favourites including: citrus, amber, fern, acacia, gardenia, geranium, lily, lime, tabac, musk, orchid, patchouly, peach, red and tea rose, sandal wood, vanilla, leather, honey-almond, cinnamon, peach-lime, and bergamotto. In case you can't make it to Florence, you can order Münstermann's products here: http://www.munstermann.it/ordinaeng.html BTW, the website of the Comune di Firenze (http://www.comune.fi.it ) says this about Münstermann: In 1897 the German pharmacist Münstermann opened his shop that was the first to offer homeopathic cures in Florence. He had a great success and in 1908 the pharmacy moved to the building in piazza Goldoni and took the new name, Farmacia Anglo-Americana, that it kept until 1935. The original nineteenth century furnishings are all there intact, even though some adaptations became necessary in the early 1900s when the building itself was remodeled to make way for the new tram line. The 1966 flood inflicted serious damage. However, in spite of these vicissitudes, the pharmacy still conserves its original character that forms the perfect setting for the pharmaceuticals and cosmetics that are still made according to the original old formulas.
