I paid $12 for 30 eggs and the quality runs along the same line as Whole Foods organic pastured eggs. So, I got 2 flats (60 eggs) and picked them up from the owner's residence. It'll be better to text or call prior to going there as the farm is not where you get the eggs, rather the home and the husband will deliver them to your car. This farm has been operating in their current location since 1850. There simply isn't anything that will be able to replace the experience you could have here not to mention nowhere else seems to have boiled peanuts anywhere close to as good as the ones they offered here. This location of their roadside farm produce stand is probably the nearest of the several Becnel fruit stands/markets to the actual farm as it is pretty much on the farm with all the citrus trees around it. They have some general selection of fresh produce and locally produced food items as the other locations but it is nice to see where a lot of the citrus and other produce originates from. This is a nice little road trip to take and see some of the rural areas outside of the urban spaces of Greater New Orleans. I've had the privilege of having all my lifetime 'til now being able to enjoy Becnel farms produce stands and I don't know how to even envision a future where they no longer exist. I've gone through the loss of so MANY of the wonderful and unique things the New Orleans area offered for so many generations that my heart grows heavier with each loss of the wonderous things that are now gone with the wind & tragically ain't dere no more...
